Chapter 359 - More Than 10000 Meter
The double door to the aircraft opened up as the members inside the plane felt a burst of air fill the place but quickly drown out by the forceful pull of the aircrafts mechanisms.
Emma was the first one of the whole group to get out first. Despite the talk she had with William, she still was somewhat disturbed by some matters, so she quickly got out of the plane and went straight for the bathroom.
William didn't give much attention to her beside the casual glance and went out of the plane along with Delmar and Naomi.
The first words that came out of his words were…
"Woah! What is this… Black Stuff!"
William said looking at the large black mountain in front of him with a large hole opened up.
Thinking that the plane might have faced itself at the opposite site, he took a U-turn, but immediately stopped in his place.
Behind him or now in front of him was a large cliff and he was a few meters away from it. Bringing himself a few steps ahead, William looked down and tried to measure, how large the fall would be.
But the problem was that they were now at such a high height that he couldn't see the end of it. All he saw at the distant was a patch of green land but it was blurry and it certainly did not help with a lot of clouds hovering down from them.
Even then the reason he was able to see them could be attributed because of the various kinds of affinities and physical changes that were done on his body.
Seeing the clouds William wondered how high they were to actually see such a scene. The sight was truly beautiful and something that he had never seen before.
But still the fear of falling down and splatting away like a lump of meat permeated through his mind as he backed away.
"How high are we?" William asked as Delmar took a look under the cliff.
"Looking by the large dense clouds over there… I would say we are at over 9000 to 10000 meters high up in the mountains."
Hearing that William looked upwards and he felt even more astonished to see that the mountains head was still a lot higher up than where they were.
"Then how tall is the mountain?"
"Maybe over 14 thousand meters."
"That high!"
"Yeah… could be even more, can't say. The machines aren't working that much with how high we are." Delmar scratched his bald head, "But it certainly took quite the manpower and eyes to find such a place so out of place."
"Pun Intended."
William nodded to his words. He was in complete agreement with him, it was truly a wonder how people were able to spot such a place so high up and even journey through it and find treasures.
No wonder people want to be frontiers, the stories of them couldn't amount up to what actually happens.
From the mouth of the cave, came out Edward, wearing his gear and slim mechanical suit as it covered each part of his body. The metallic grey suit looked like it wouldn't be able to stop the cold with how slim and metallic it was.
But the suit was quite highly advanced, as it not only gave protection from physical attacks but it also has cold resistance, fire resistance, lightning resistance along with many other features.
Which was the reason why these suit cost millions of dollars just for one person.
Edward wasn't the only one wearing it, William and his company were wearing it too. Not only them but everybody who was working and even the frontiers were wearing similar suits or armors.
Just not one that cost so much and had so many features.
"How's the view!" Edward said loudly as strong air blew past them making their hearing more troublesome.
"Its Peak!" William said loudly too and they both laughed at the thought.
"Why don't we go inside? It's better there." William nodded and all of them went inside of the caves mouth with the escort team following them.
After they walked a few moments away, the air finally calmed down enough for them to stop and have a talk.
"It took many frontier teams and a lot of time and searching to find this place."
"How did they find it?" William said looking at the black rocky place, which slightly shimmered with a silvery ash glim.
"Well… it started with a kind of surprise." Edward said and William felt conflicted.
"Surprise?"
Edward nodded as they walked alongside and talked, "Yes. It was almost a year back, I had sent out a few frontiers and others in towards the forbidden zones and we were looking for some… or any kind of information or anything valuable that might bring me some investments for the future endeavor."
"The frontiers and others searched, searched and searched… but found nothing. Months went by as no report other than the usual blank would come at my desk and trouble my days."
"I almost gave up as nothing significant had come that might suggest anything good for tthis venture."
"And then… YES!"
Edward's eyes lit up at that as he remembered something that brightened his face and he smiled widely. William didn't know what had suddenly gotten to the man but it wouldn't take long as Edward looked at William with an acknowledging face.
"And then just as I was about to give up the search completely and move on to somewhere else," Edward looked at William, "You came."
"Me?" William asked confused.
"Yes, you!" Edward nodded heavily, "You came and gave me this place."
Hearing Edward made both William and Delmar confused as they don't remember anything that had contributed William's work in this matter. Naomi on the other hand, was slightly confused but didn't think much about it.
She knew that there were many matters about William that he didn't told her and this may be one of them.
William didn't know what to think and looked at Delmar to see him giving him a questioning look which he gave a shake to. He then asked Edward, "Ah… What are you talking about?"
"Well it was you who showed me this place," Then he smiled, "Not literally I mean."
Before it could get any confusing Edward explained, "What I mean is, When we first met at my house and started this whole operation."
"Right after you left my house, I suddenly get a report from one of the teams and it was about a strong interference of mana that had strung up on the radars."
"Months of nothing and suddenly getting something as huge as this after just meeting you couldn't just be a coincidence right?" Edward asked as William thought.
'Hmm… now that is a thought. Right after meeting me he finds something like this… could this be work of-'
They stopped talking as they finally came at the place. William's eyes glimmered in dark blue as it reflected the dozens of large mana crystals stuck in the ground as Edward proclaimed, "Look at this place… isn't just magnifying!"
William nodded heavily as different thought went through the three of them.
William – 'Damn! That's a lot of firepower to use.'
Delmar – 'Damn! That's a lot of money waiting to be plucked out.'
Naomi – 'Damn! That's a lot of paperwork right there.'
