Infinite Magus

Chapter 19: — Dwelling Curiosity

As Clay woke up from his exhaustion. His sights were filled with the medial area. The bed he rested on was soft. And he could, but struggled, to move his right arm. Like its function had been changed entirely. Curiously it had been covered in strange markings top to bottom. And he noticed it strangely had a higher mana output as his left. He very vaguely remembered what happened when the mysterious power had taken him over. But his arm getting dismembered was not one of those vague memories.

Once he got up, he stretched a bit, and he saw the red haired girl standing in the corner of the room. Of course, he figured the girl did not think of him positively, he had fought, and defeated Nora, as someone from the lower class. Without even using too much of his power. So obviously he figured she was embarrassed, but she didn't look angry. Or, any emotional at all actually, maybe a bit of confusion.

"Now, how were you, found in that state, on the most secure campus on the continent, without a single breach in security being detected."

"I feel like that's a question that could answer itself. Where's my sword?"

"I confiscated it, just in case, you'll get it back once you recover. Now, answer the question, truly."

"I was attacked, I feel like it was obvious."

"How?

"what do you mean 'how'?"

"How was it obvious?"

"The injuries I got!"

"You don't have any injuries. You're just exhausted."

Clay was surprised, he pulled back a bit, shocked. He could've sworn he still had cuts on his body even after the fight, how did they heal completely while he slept? They weren't severe enough for any healing magic treatment.

"…well, I was still attacked, nothing changed that, I don't know what they did. They, created some kind of barrier. It isolated sound and vision."

"…well, then you have no luck here, Clay, you should go talk to Professor Faroth, he's the basic arts teacher, but he's also a teacher of a separate barrier class. It's actually interesting. but it's not my thing."

She left the room. He noticed she seemed to be in a hurry. Clay got up. He felt perfectly fine, even after mana exhaustion. His body had healed in such a fast rate that he didn't even feel sore at all. Then he remembered. Nora had confiscated his sword. And she was gone. He sighed and reached his hand out, calling for the sword. With it appearing in his hand in its sheath.

Clay looked at his hands, he noticed his left arm, the one he had lost, had a new mark on it, it was like the one on his right. But dark, in fact it was like blackened ink scorched into his skin.
