NOVEL NEXT Chapter 89: Devil Blade Lilith (A+)
Stella intently watched as the elusive hooded man raised his jagged crimson-black sword into the air. Energy swirled around its edges, creating a large aerial vortex that sucked everything into Lilith. Then, with a massive explosion of scarlet energy, her previous blade skin was shed!
OOOM!
Radiating from the sharp, shiny angular surface of the Devil Blade Lilith was a regal energy so powerful that it felt like an extremely strong A-Rank Demon Lord had descended from the skies! Stella could barely keep her balance under such an oppressive aura!
With her eyelids flickering between opening and closing, she glimpsed the fantastical form of Lilith.
Progressing from her previous four-foot length, she was now nearly six feet. Instead of an ancient, Gothic design, she was now shaped like a mixture between a katana and a greatsword. She was thin yet robust; wide yet sturdy. Moreover, she still retained the cracked extendable functionality, meaning that she could stretch out and retract at will.
Cassius even had a feeling that Lilith had become far more proficient at extending. Curious to explore this feeling, he clenched her in the cusp of his right hand and… pierced forward!

In the same instant Lilith was lunged forward, an enormous, impossibly long cosmically red beam of light shot out. It whizzed through the air, tearing through several known speed milestones. In less time than it took for a nanosecond to pass, the super-thin red beam that was actually a hyper-condensed sectioning of Lilith had already made it to the end of this cut-off world.
Then came the boom…
KA—BOOOOOOM!!!
Even from hundreds of miles away, Cassius and Stella felt the ground beneath them violently tremble. Looking toward the source of this disturbance, they saw a large sphere of crimson energy rapidly expand. Waves of destructive mana rolled out, leaving the area directly surrounding the explosion's radius a true wasteland, devoid of all signs of life.
"Hmm… I see…" Even Cassius himself was left speechless at what he just witnessed. "Ahh… If this is still within the bounds of the A-Rank, then just how powerful are those in the S-Rank…?"
That attack of Lilith's drained approximately 30% of his energy reserves, which was still a massive amount of mana for him. However, he was sure that genuine S-Rank beings had at least a dozen times his mana storage, possibly even more than that.
'So how strong must they be…?'
Cassius was afraid to learn of the true limits of humanity. But after realizing how effective this new form of attack could be, he decided to distribute more of his Stat Points into Intelligence from now on. Intelligence was the primary stat that affected things like mana capacity, magic damage output, intellectual capabilities, and anything else along those lines. 'Blowing things up?' thought Cassius, his brows arched in confusion. 'Yes, that sounds right.'
Stella was too busy being dumbfounded over what she had just witnessed, whereas Yimin's eyes visibly shined. Like sparkly stars in the night sky, they watched the residual energy waves of the crimson beam attack spread all over the vast desert.
The attack was nowhere near as powerful as what her Master used on her to subdue her under his rod, but it was still so pretty to look at.
"Master is so cool!! His spells are always the coolest!!" Yimin was so excited that she conveniently forgot all about wanting to kill and eat the silver-haired bitch.
Fwwoooop!!
The thin crimson beam rapidly retracted and enlarged with every retraction. By the time it made it back to Lilith's hilt, it went from the size of a piece of paper to that of a human-sized Devil Blade.
BZZZzzzzttt!!
Cassius could tell from the sword's vibrations that she was shaking in joy. He faintly smiled before softly running his hand across her black metallic surface. He then wrapped her around the right side of his body, completely oblivious to a different kind of shaking she made at his caress before going silent.
The only thing on his mind was how much more badass her design had become after achieving the A- Rank.
Which reminded him…
"I think you deserve more than just that, Lilith, my dear." An invisible force tugged at Cassius's smile, turning it into a devilish smirk.
Lilith vibrated in euphoria, practically begging him to do it.
Doing exactly what she wanted, Cassius did it. He summoned a big glorious thing and inserted it into her, then watched in anticipation as she erupted in a dark red glow—one that was several times more powerful than before!
Stella, still reeling from the first evolution, was left even more slack-jawed seeing yet another similar evolution occur. She didn't even know what to think anymore… Shock was all that remained…
WAAA!!
By the end of another lengthy evolution process, Lilith successfully reached the A Rank. However, did one believe this was anywhere good enough to satisfy either her or her Master? The answer was obviously no!
"Another Rank up!" they both seemed to exclaim in unison, which led to another large insertion, this time sliding in even rougher.
Five minutes later.
