Chapter 6: Not Used To Being Human
Atniel tries to ignore them. However, once he turns his face forward, all the other passengers start gossiping about him again. They look so amused, although still trying to hold back their voices and laughter.
It is still only whispering, but it sounds to Atniel like he is being openly mocked by a crowd from behind. It's so bothering that he keeps whining in restrained voice, grumbling like an old man babysitting some noisy toddlers at home.
As a former holy knight who dedicated his entire life in worshipping God, he can't tolerate the injustice Irvine experienced this morning. But these girls are talking about it as a source of joy. No longer able to endure it anymore, he gets up and shouts at them loudly while spitting out some saliva out of his mouth cavity.
"Be quieeeet!!!" It's so loud and powerful, shaking the glass windows of the bus violently. "Do you have any idea what this kid has gone through?!!"
His madness makes the driver stop the bus at once. Everyone is so stunned, except the old bus driver.
"Hey, Kid! What was that? Have you gone nuts?!"
Atniel looks back to the driver, showing his guilty face for accidentally losing his composure. He has a reason to be mad, but he looks so awkward at the moment, believing that he must have done something stupid.
After slowly turning his face back to the other passengers, he finds them staring as if they are afraid of something.
"Elea! Did you notice it just now?"
"There's no doubt about it! It came from that kid!"
"But, he is only a Seed E recruit, right?"
Only now does Atniel remember that he is in someone else's body. And that's right! Irvine is only one of the Seed E recruits, a group of the least talented students at Ezlenmir Academy. He shouldn't show such a terrifying image by using the face of someone who is known as useless weak-ass.
"Gulp! Uh, please! Just forget it! Why don't we stay quiet for now?"
And those girls, they are actually Irvine's seniors. One of them, a girl with pointed ears, gets up showing her discontent look with her fierce yellow eyes.
"Stay quiet? You got problem with me talking with my friends?"
She has a firm face, with her light red hair tied to the back, and her gaze alone giving so much sense of dominance. Looking hot with dense athletic boobs in C-cup sport bra, her smooth four-pack abs and shredded arms are clearly seen due to her sports bra only covered by a not fully-zipped battle vest.
There's only a military shorts covering her bottom, showing a little of her beautiful athletic thighs. She is Elea Adlen from the mountain elf tribe, looking sexy and seducing, but is the kind of appearance Atniel despises the most.
Atniel also finds the girl's bottom legs, from calves below, covered in thick white fur as if she were wearing long socks. "So, a descendant of Princess Louisia, huh?" He shows a bit of silly smile before walking away.
On the other hand, the elf girl looks so pissed off. "Hey, you punk! How dare you show your back while I'm talking to you?!"
"Elea! Stop it! Don't you start making a mess here!"
"Shut up! This fucker needs to be taught some manners!"
Atniel stops and looks back only to show his silly face. "A girl in minimalist clothing talks about manners? What a joke!"
However, he admits that he is still a newcomer in this city. Not wanting to create any more trouble, he simply shakes his head and decides to leave.
It actually makes the elf girl even furious that she starts gritting her teeth. She then brings her right palm closer to her mouth and secretly starts muttering something with foreign language.
Nueyr, Ceva Jegambuqam!
Zafikag recijis jejuasamlal, ci asar alaqag xamf recamf lelzaqa!
Seeming to recognize the language, Atniel looks back to the girl. To his surprise, he finds the elf girl showing a haughty grin, and that right hand of her is now so bright with mana.
The air around Elea is seemingly wavering. A spark appears in front of her palm, starting a combustion reaction to the mana she has gathered. Soon, a tiny flame forms and grows in a spiral before turning into a fireball in less than three seconds.
"Emberflare Aetherstorm!"
The bus is now filled with the frightened faces of the Ezlenmir Academy students. They know very well the disaster that Elea is about to cause. A fireball with that size will not only injure one person.
"Someone! Please stop her!"
Atniel knows how dangerous it will be. He has no other option but to take the risk of showing some oddity for a Seed E student to do. He clenches his right fist tightly, and collects a small amount of his divine energy.
Fortunately, a girl with all white hair and eyebrows grabs Elea's wrist. And the next second, that wrist begins to be wrapped in thin ice, which slowly spreads and solidifies. It also completely extinguishes Elea's fireball.
"Aezel! How dare you interrupt me?" Elea hisses, looking displeased.
"We only need one more mission to graduate from the academy, and I don't want you to ruin everything because of this trivial matter!" The white-haired girl named Aezel reprimands.
"Tch!" Elea clenches her fist, crushing the ice that wraps her hand.
She looks dissatisfied, only able to glance at Atniel who ignorantly shows his back. Unlike Elea, Aezel stares at Atniel with so much suspicion, realizing the abundant energy in his right hand. It's so odd to her to find a Seed E student having that much raw energy.
Atniel ultimately gets off the bus, while mumbling with an uninterested tone. Unfortunately, there is no other bus to take him back to Blemlisk Hill after that last one.
"Maaan! I should have stayed quiet and let that moving metal box take me back to this boy's dormitory.
And so, he decides to continue the journey on foot, still whining about everything that isn't gone as he planned.
"I never thought being a normal human would be this tiresome. Walking only for an hour already feels so heavy for me now."
"It hasn't been a day, and I've already missed my wings so much."
"Well, there's no other choice, isn't it? I need to get used to this routine as soon as possible."
