Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Nemesis Unleashed
The roar that echoed through the hospital sent a chill down Azizah's spine. It wasn't just a sound-it was a warning, a promise of death that grew louder with each passing second. She glanced at Carlos, whose expression darkened. Jill's grip on her pistol tightened, her jaw clenched in anticipation.
"It's him," Jill muttered "Nemesis."
Azizah had known this moment was coming. Her knowledge of Resident Evil told her what to expect: a relentless killing machine engineered by Umbrella to eliminate S.T.A.R.S. members. But no amount of preparation could truly steel her nerves for what was about to happen.
The ground trembled as heavy footsteps approached, each one louder than the last. Survivors huddled together, fear etched into their faces. Leon and Kevin took defensive positions near the evac route, their weapons drawn and ready Tyrell barked orders to the UBCS team, setting up a perimeter to buy time.
And then it appeared.
Nemesis burst through a wall with an earth shaking crash, sending debris flying in every direction. Its grotesque, mutated form ptowered over them, its mechanical enhancements gleaming under the flickering hospital lights. The creature's exposed muscles pulsed as it let out a guttural growl, the stitched remains of its face forming a hideous snarl.
"STAAAAAARRSSS!" it bellowed, its gaze locking onto Jill.
"Spread out!" Jill yelled, diving for cover as Nemesis fired a rocket launcher, the explosion obliterating a section of the corridor.
Azizah rolled to the side, her Widow's Bite gauntlets sparking to life. "We need to draw it away from the survivors!"
"Easier said than done!" Carlos shouted unloading his assault rifle into the creature's chest. The bullets barely seemed to faze it.
Nemesis turned its attention to Carlos,
its massive arm swinging with terrifying speed. Carlos barely managed to dive out of the way, the impact of the strike shattering the ground where he had stood.
Leon and Kevin opened fire, their bullets peppering Nemesis's back. "Aim for the head!" Leon called out, his voice strained.
Azizah darted forward, her enhanced agility allowing her to dodge Nemesis's wild attacks. She landed a punch to its side, the shock from her gauntlets crackling through its flesh. The creature roared in anger, swatting at her with inhuman speed. She narrowly avoided the blow, her reflexes saving her from being crushed.
"Azizah, keep it distracted!" Jill yelled, reloading her pistol. We'll go for the weak points!"
Azizah nodded, her heart pounding as she moved to draw Nemesis's attention She used the environment to her advantage, vaulting over debris and forcing the creature to chase her. It was relentless, its every movement calculated to kill.
As Jill fired at Nemesis's exposed head, Leon spotted something. "The tank on its back--it's exposed! That's the weak point!"
"Got it!" Azizah shouted, changing her approach. She sprinted toward a pile of debris and climbed onto a higher vantage point. From there, she aimed for the fuel tank jutting out from Nemesis's back. "Cover me!"
Carlos and Kevin unleashed a barrage of bullets, keeping Nemesis occupied as Azizah leaped from her perch. Mid-air, she activated her gauntlets and drove both fists into the tank. The resulting shock caused a small explosion, sending Nemesis stumbling forward with a roar of pain.
"Now's our chance!" Jill yelled, firing into the creature's exposed back. Leon followed suit, his handgun precision landing critical shots.
Nemesis dropped to one knee, its movements slowing but not stopping Azizah landed on the ground, her gauntlets sparking as she readied for another attack. "It's not down yet!"
Just as the group seemed to gain the upper hand, a sinister laugh echoed from the shadows. Nicholai stepped into the light, his smirk as cold as ever. "Impressive teamwork," he drawled. "But you're wasting your time."
Azizah turned to him, her eyes narrowing. "What are you doing. Nicholai?"
He shrugged, casually holding a remote device in his hand. "Letting you entertain me. But I think it's time to end this little show.
With a press of a button, Nemesis roared back to life, its movements suddenly faster and more erratic. The creature's mutations spread, its arms growing grotesque appendages as it entered a new phase of its evolution.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Kevin shouted, firing at the advancing monster.
"Nicholai!" Carlos bellowed. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Survival of the fittest," Nicholai replied, backing toward the exit. "Good luck."
Before anyone could stop him, he disappeared into the shadows, leaving them to face an even deadlier Nemesis.
Azizah gritted her teeth, her system chiming in her mind with a tactical update.
System Alert
Nemesis: Stage Two Detected
Weak Points: Heart and Secondary
Mutation Appendages
Recommended Strategy: Utilize explosives and high-impact attacks.
"Go for the heart and the arms!" Azizah shouted, charging back into the fight.
Carlos threw a grenade, the explosion staggering Nemesis but not stopping it. Jill and Leon flanked the creature, aiming for its grotesque limbs. Kevin fired his shotgun at close range, but Nemesis retaliated, swiping him into a wall. azizah darted forward, catching Nemesis's attention once more.
"Over here, ugly!" she taunted, leaping onto its arm. She drove her gauntlets into its exposed heart, the electricity surging through its body. The creature thrashed violently, trying to shake her off.
Jill used the distraction to plant another grenade near its mutated arm. "Fire in the hole!" she yelled, detonating the explosive. The arm was blown off sending Nemesis reeling
With its heart exposed and its movements faltering, Leon fired the final shot, his bullet piercing through Nemesis's core. The creature let out a guttural roar before collapsing, its massive body hitting the ground with a sickening thud.
Azizah rolled off its arm, her chest heaving as she deactivated her gauntlets. The group stood in silence, their breaths heavy as they stared at the fallen monstrosity
"We did it," Leon said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"For now," Jill replied, her eyes scanning the room. "Let's get the survivors out before something worse shows up.
