Chapter 39: Chapter 38

Upon entering the private space, Morin saw Uvogin and Franklin engaged in an arm-wrestling match.

Franklin, now surrounded by a faint aura, had officially become a nen user. Nearby, Pakunoda was practicing forming the number "1-9" with her aura under Machi's guidance.

Although this method was best suited for Transmutation-type nen users, it was still an excellent exercise for beginners to familiarize themselves with controlling aura.

Nobunaga, bored and lazy, leaned against a wall, while Feitan, who had just opened the door for Morin, was wiping his hands clean with a cloth.

As for Chrollo, he sat staring pensively at the cup in front of him.

"Yo, you're back, Morin," Uvogin greeted, his teeth gritted as he focused on overpowering Franklin in their match.

Bang!

Finally, with a burst of strength, Uvogin slammed Franklin's hand onto the table.

"Haha! I win again!" Uvogin roared triumphantly, clearly proud of his strength.

"What monstrous power," Franklin muttered, wiping sweat from his forehead. Uvogin's strength was truly hard to counter.

"I'm not an Enhancement-type, after all. Managing this much is already impressive," Franklin admitted. Then, turning to Morin, he added, "You're amazing!"

With genuine admiration, Franklin praised Morin:

"You went out for just one night, and not only did you capture a qualified nen user, but you also brought back a fortune.

"With skills like yours, you're more than deserving of the title of our vice-captain."

Feitan, though reserved, nodded in agreement, his tone reflecting newfound respect. "If it were just luck, it wouldn't happen this smoothly every time. Right now, the Troupe needs exactly what you've delivered. That's no mere coincidence."

His sharp, fox-like eyes narrowed slightly in satisfaction. "That nen user you caught... they made things quite fun for me. Vice-captain."

The title rolled off Feitan's tongue naturally, spoken with sincerity.

"As long as you're happy," Morin replied with a smile.

The metallic tang of blood lingered in the air, and Morin could easily deduce that Feitan had just finished an interrogation. Feitan's hand-wiping motion confirmed as much.

Morin felt no sympathy for the addict; such individuals were far beneath his concern.

Casually, he retrieved eight identification documents from his four-dimensional pouch.

"With these, we can now walk freely and openly wherever we go."

Feitan gave him a small thumbs-up before taking one of the IDs. The others followed suit, each picking up their document with a mix of admiration and gratitude.

To accomplish so much in just one night—truly, it was the work of their vice-captain.

Looking between Chrollo and Morin, the members of the Phantom Troupe felt a renewed sense of confidence.

With these two leading them, their Troupe's future would undoubtedly be bright.

"Has everyone determined their nen type yet?" Morin asked casually as he handed Machi her ID.

Although he already knew the results, he pretended otherwise.

"Chrollo and Pakunoda are Specialists," Machi said matter-of-factly. "Feitan is the same type as me—Transmutation. Franklin is an Emitter."

"Pakunoda's leaf sank straight to the bottom of the glass," she continued, describing their water divination tests.

Sank to the bottom? Morin mused. A metaphor for digging deep into someone's memories, perhaps?

"And Chrollo's leaf absorbed so much water that it took up over half the glass."

Absorbing water? That could symbolize absorption, or rather, stealing others' nen abilities.

Morin's thoughts raced as he linked their nen traits to their water divination results.

Even with Specialist nen types, the results of water divination often reflected the user's personality and the potential direction of their ability development.

For example, Kurapika's scarlet-eye Specialist ability allowed him to access 100% of all nen types' potential. His water divination likely displayed traits of all six categories simultaneously.

"Morin, Vice-captain," Franklin suddenly spoke up, "do you have any training methods for Emitter types?"

Franklin had already learned about Enhancement training through smashing rocks and Transmutation exercises using aura to form numbers. Now, he was curious about his own category.

"For Emitters," Morin began thoughtfully, "you can start by emitting your aura from your fingertips, forming it into a ball, and then shooting it toward a target several meters away.

"When you can do that consistently, you've reached the first stage of Emitter mastery.

"The next step," Morin added, "is to use your aura to lift yourself off the ground. Without moving your body, rely entirely on emitted aura to make yourself float. When you can do that, you'll have truly grasped the fundamentals."

"I see..." Franklin nodded, deep in thought.

"As for Specialists," Morin turned to Pakunoda, who looked at him expectantly, "I can't offer much help. I don't even know how to train my own Specialist abilities beyond basic nen exercises. At best, I can manage some advanced techniques."

Pakunoda nodded in understanding, though her disappointment was evident.

Morin shrugged slightly, smiling as the group settled back into their routines.
