Chapter 84 Bankai - Zanka no Tachi!

Tenchuren is the transportation used by the Royal Guard to travel between the Soul King Palace and the Soul Society.

The moment Gilgamesh saw the Tenchuren, he recalled the vision of his future, where he stepped into the Soul King Palace. This made him vaguely guess the purpose of the Royal Guard's arrival.

Yamamoto also noticed the Tenchuren and understood its significance. As the Head Captain of the Gotei 13, he was well aware of its function. Thus, he knew that the Royal Guard had descended upon the Soul Society.

However, the reason for their arrival at this time was unclear. The Royal Guard rarely left the Soul King Palace, only doing so in times of extreme crisis for the Soul Society.

His Zanpakuto transformed into a Western-style sword, its blade crackling with lightning.

Suì-Fēng followed swiftly, using Shunpo to circle behind Gilgamesh, her Suzumebachi aiming for his back.

Byakuya also acted, wielding Senbonzakura and intoning, "Scatter, Senbonzakura!"

Countless tiny pink blades danced towards Gilgamesh.

Ginrei joined the fray, drawing his Zanpakuto and slashing at Gilgamesh.

Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen exchanged glances, nodded, and moved to attack as well. They had to at least pretend to engage.

"Shatter, Kyōka Suigetsu!"

"Kill, Kamishini no Yari!"

"Sing, Suzumushi!"

Ōmaeda, initially hesitant, felt a chill as he looked at Unohana standing beside him. Swallowing hard, he asked, "Captain Unohana, aren't you joining?"

With a gentle smile, Unohana replied, "Our Fourth Division is for healing, not combat. I need to stay back to treat the wounded."

Turning to Ōmaeda, she added with a smile that sent shivers down his spine, "But Vice-Captain Ōmaeda, shouldn't you be fighting?"

Terrified by Unohana's smile, Ōmaeda rushed at Gilgamesh, shouting, "Crush him, Gokentō!"

Facing the combined assault of the captains, Gilgamesh remained unperturbed, saying, "What made you think using Shikai alone could defeat me? Is it because you outnumber me?"

As he spoke, Gilgamesh raised the Sword of Rupture, chanting, "Awaken, Ea."

With the chant, the sword's segments began rotating in opposite directions, forming a red-and-white force field that generated a violent wind around Gilgamesh.

All attacks were shredded and torn apart by this force field. Sasakibe, Suì-Fēng, Ginrei, and Ōmaeda, attempting close-range attacks, were thrown back, their blood splattering, their bodies uncontrollably flying away.

The surrounding terrain crumbled and collapsed within the force field's chaotic winds, with debris and dust swirling everywhere.

At this moment, Yamamoto's voice echoed from behind Gilgamesh, "This ends now, Gilgamesh."

With his hair and beard flaring, Yamamoto roared, "Bankai, Zanka no Tachi!!"

Yamamoto's clothing began to change. His captain's haori vanished, his Shinigami uniform turned white on the inside, and black, flowing flames appeared at the collar, sleeves, and hem.

Most notably, Ryūjin Jakka now resembled a charred piece of wood, glowing with intense heat, the smoke rising from it.

Upon Yamamoto's Bankai activation, the previously clouded sky of the Soul Society cleared, replaced by a strange brightness despite the late hour. An unimaginable heat wave swept across the Soul Society, evaporating all moisture in the air. Even the blood on the wounded evaporated quickly.

Among those present, only Ginrei, Sasakibe, and Unohana had witnessed Yamamoto's Bankai before, maintaining their composure. But for Byakuya, Gin, Tōsen, Suì-Fēng, and Ōmaeda, it was their first time seeing it, and the overwhelming power shook their spirits.

Aizen remained expressionless, merely adjusting his glasses thoughtfully.

Elsewhere, captains hurrying towards the scene also sensed the anomaly, recognizing Yamamoto's Bankai. They wondered what kind of enemy could force him to use it.

"Zanka no Tachi, Higashi: Kyokujitsujin!"

Yamamoto's attack struck where Gilgamesh had stood, creating a massive fissure, everything within turned to ash.

Kyokujitsujin concentrated all the heat of Ryūjin Jakka at the blade's tip, erasing anything it touched.

Seeing Gilgamesh evade the attack, Yamamoto pursued relentlessly.

Suddenly, a voice called out, "Stop, Yamamoto!"

Recognizing the voice, Yamamoto's mind conjured an image.
