Chapter 79 - King of the Zanpakutō!

Ryūjin Jakka is the oldest and most powerful flame-type Zanpakutō, renowned for its devastating offensive capabilities in the Soul Society. As the wielder of Ryūjin Jakka, Yamamoto has not had to unleash its Shikai in a very long time.

Byakuya had never seen Yamamoto release Ryūjin Jakka's Shikai with his own eyes; he only knew of its legends and the stories passed down through generations. Ginrei and Chōjirō, being much older, had witnessed its release.

Ginrei had even seen its Bankai once, a thousand years ago, when Yamamoto led the original Gotei 13 and annihilated Yhwach and his Quincy army with Ryūjin Jakka. The scene remained vivid in his memory, a testament to the blade's terrifying power, burning everything it touched to ash.

Therefore, when they heard Gilgamesh's incantation, their eyes instinctively turned to Yamamoto's wooden cane, which they knew was the scabbard of Ryūjin Jakka, only revealing its true form when in use.

Byakuya vividly remembered how Senbonzakura had responded instantly to his Shikai command during his battle with Gilgamesh. He expected Ryūjin Jakka to react similarly. Yet, as time passed, the wooden cane remained motionless.

Confusion and doubt etched across Byakuya, Ginrei, and Sasakibe's faces. They couldn't understand why nothing was happening.

Instinctively, their gazes shifted to Gilgamesh, who remained calm and composed as if he had anticipated this.

Kennō was indeed powerful, but it wasn't without its limitations. Yamamoto's overwhelming strength extended not just to himself but also to his Zanpakutō. The reason Kennō had no effect was due to the immense spiritual pressure inherent in Ryūjin Jakka, capable of directly resisting the command.

Before Yamamoto, there had been one other person who broke free from Kennō—Sōsuke Aizen. However, Aizen's resistance stemmed from his own formidable spiritual pressure, not from Kyōka Suigetsu's inherent power.

Yamamoto's eyes had opened fully, silently observing Gilgamesh. In his mind, he could hear Ryūjin Jakka's voice:

"An order from the king is unavoidable! It's terrifying that such a Zanpakutō exists in the Soul Society. If you wish to eliminate him, do so now, for once he grows stronger, even I won't be able to resist. Because his Zanpakutō is the king of all Zanpakutō! Such a Zanpakutō shouldn't exist!"

Ryūjin Jakka's usually calm and steady tone was now filled with intense emotion, reflecting the immense turmoil within. Yamamoto had never heard Ryūjin Jakka speak with such urgency before.

Usually, Ryūjin Jakka was even more composed than Yamamoto himself, unaffected by anything. Yet, now, it was agitated by the presence of Gilgamesh's Zanpakutō.

The information conveyed by Ryūjin Jakka was staggering. Even Yamamoto's two thousand years of experience couldn't prevent the tremor of shock that ran through him.

King of the Zanpakutō?

Yamamoto struggled to imagine what kind of Zanpakutō could be called the king of all Zanpakutō. Suppressing his internal upheaval, he began to contemplate how to handle Gilgamesh and Kennō.

The precedent set by Kōga was a thorn in his side, a reminder of the potential danger. There was no doubt that Kennō's power far exceeded that of Muramasa, a fact Yamamoto wouldn't question, especially given Ryūjin Jakka's reaction.

If Gilgamesh followed in Kōga's footsteps, he would become a slave to his power, unleashing unimaginable chaos. Conversely, if nurtured properly, Gilgamesh could surpass Yamamoto and maintain stability in the Soul Society long after Yamamoto stepped down.

However, guiding Gilgamesh wouldn't be easy. Beyond other factors, the Central 46 would never allow a king to exist, even if it was just a king of the Zanpakutō.

Yamamoto's power, though immense, didn't surpass the authority of the Central 46. If they issued a decree, he would have to comply unless he was willing to sever ties with them, a move that would plunge the Soul Society into chaos and war. Moreover, Yamamoto was not the strongest in the Soul Society.

In his mind, the image of a plump monk, Ichibē Hyōsube, appeared. If it came to a breaking point, the Zero Division might intervene. Yamamoto knew Ichibē would have learned about Kennō's true name and wondered if he knew it was the king of the Zanpakutō.

Byakuya, unable to contain himself, questioned, "Gilgamesh, what are you doing? Do you think this will hide your Zanpakutō's abilities?"

Gilgamesh shook his head, responding calmly, "I never intended to hide anything. I did use Kennō's Shikai ability, but Ryūjin Jakka resisted it."

Everyone was stunned by this revelation. Before they could react, Gilgamesh's interested voice rang out, "But, I can try again."

Currently, Gilgamesh's spiritual pressure was at 50,000. If 50,000 couldn't affect Ryūjin Jakka, what about a higher amount?

Without hesitation, Gilgamesh mentally commanded, 'System, add points!!'
