Chapter 7: Jie Family & Jie Peng
"Well, it's indeed a good start; this little girl has lightened my face, and I'm looking forward to the performances of the remaining students." Wang Renshu said as his gaze fell on the remaining forty-nine blue-lit rooms.
"Let's go to the monitoring room to sit and watch the show. Young lass, you can go over there and wait for your classmates." Professor Kaio said to teacher Wu and headmaster Wang while pointing a finger towards the side glass room (waiting room) and guiding Li Yanyan to go over there.
"Thank you, Senior!" Li Yanyan nodded her head obediently and headed towards the empty glass room.
The reason Professor Kaio let her go to the empty waiting room is because there are a few things that need to be kept personal, and it's better for others not to hear.
Li Yanyan is an intelligent girl, and she knew more or less, which is why after Professor Kaio pointed her in the direction, she happily went over.
Indeed, she's happy and has no reason to be worried anymore; she is glad to sit in the corner and wait for the other classmates to come over.
As time passed, headmaster Wang and others were waiting for the response from other rooms.
It didn't take long that three rooms lit one after another and drew everyone in line of sight.
Headmaster Wang stubbornly looked towards the virtual screen monitors in front of him, as the silhouette of two young boys and a girl could be seen.
"It's Ding Wei, Jie Peng, and girl Jin Tao." Teacher Wu looked closely and said,
Headmaster Wang nodded his head in response and asked while curiously seizing the two young boys on the virtual screen, "Xiao Wu, that brat Jie Peng is from the Jie family, and Ding Wei is from the Ding family. I've heard these two young fellows always find trouble for each other, right?"
"What do you think? This time who'll get better results?"
"Well, Headmaster Wang, in terms of strength and talent, both of them are almost similar; it's just that Jie Peng is quick-witted and goal-focused, while Ding Wei is frank and simple-minded. It's different to discern which one would take the lead." Teacher Wu said and shook his head while pointing toward the virtual image of a young girl.
The girl had short hair and a slightly round face. She looks rather like a simple neighboring girl next door.
"In my opinion, Jin Tao is much better than these two guys. But after all, it's the awakening process; no one can guarantee which one will take the lead."
Let alone them, even if Li Ping, we can't guarantee that he can take the first position."
"Just like Han Yu once, his brilliance outshone everyone in Yangwu; even in the Imperial City, it was difficult to find his match; in the end, he couldn't even awaken in two trials."
Hearing vice-headmaster Wu's opinion, headmaster Wang's face becomes cloudy and unclear.
Han Yu, who was once the pride of Yangwu, was trained by him.
He had very high expectations for him in the end, but nothing went as planned.
He couldn't control many things, but this matter was indeed a thorn in his heart.
His most talented student, who was personally trained by him, could not even awaken as a Spirit Warrior.
Alas, the awakening process also has some adjustments that could be made externally, but the major part is dependent on the luck of the person.
Thinking about what happened back then, headmaster Wang shook his head and didn't say anything further.
Teacher Wu also understood he accidentally triggered headmaster Wang's past trauma, so he kept quiet and looked towards the virtual screens without blinking.
"Di...! Di...!"
In just half a minute, the virtual form of one screen became somewhat restless, and Professor Kaio carefully looked at the data on the screen.
"It's Jie Peng. What happened, professor?" Teacher Wu asked hurriedly.
"Sigh, this little guy was impatient; he consumed the awakening potion much earlier, and now he is struggling on the last phase.
"Moreover, as per the data, his talent won't be much, at least a point worse than the girl Li Yanyan."
As he said those words, a minute later room No. 26 lights turned green, and a silhouette came out in slightly distressed form.
It was a young boy. He had short brown hair, and physically he was tall and lean.
He had rather a disturbed expression on his face as if not feeling well.
A staff researcher quickly went forward and took him back toward the glass room where Li Yanyan was stationed.
Li Yanyan saw Jie Peng, who was even having difficulty walking, and couldn't help but feel relieved in her heart.
Naturally, it was not for Jie Peng but for her.
She felt she was the first one to awaken, so her talent might be the worst, and she was honestly a bit down because she thought that she was the first one to go out.
Thus, all she was thinking while sitting here alone was how to keep her composure in front of her classmates.
Although she doesn't know if Jie Peng's talent is better or worse than hers, it's definitely not too good.
She is well aware of Jie Peng's mentality.
If this person had gotten good results, his head would be straight up, and he would be doing his best to maintain an elegant attitude while keeping a sadistic smile.
While she was thinking about Jie Peng's results, the staff researcher had already entered the glass room.
Behind him, the headmaster Wang and teacher Wu also arrived. As Jie Peng entered the glass room and found out someone was there.
He felt relieved a bit; in his heart he thought, 'At least I'm not the worst; this girl is Li Yanyan, and her result would be worse than mine, which is why she came even earlier than me.'.
Thinking about this, he straightened his back slightly and sat down on the chair next to Li Yanyan.
Teacher Wu, who rushed with headmaster Wang, hastily held Jie Peng's arm and asked in a concerned tone, "Jie Peng, how is it? Did you feel any discomfort or injury during the awakening process?"
"No, Teacher Wu, I'm alright. It's just at the end of the awakening process because I was distracted slightly, so profound spirit energy went wild and caused a slight muscle spasm; other than that, I didn't feel anything." Jie Peng, although very strict with keeping his face up, this time, as teacher Wu and headmaster Wang are asking, he honestly told how he felt without any reservations.
"Good, good... You little boy, we have told you many times not to be impatient, sigh..." Headmaster Wang said rather in a despondent tone while shaking his head.
"I... I am sorry... Headmaster Wang," Jie Peng felt his face was hot even though he could not help but feel he was indeed unwise.
Just as he was ashamed and lowered his head, Professor Kaio entered the room.
"How is it? What are the results!?" Teacher Wu and Jie Peng asked simultaneously.
He was already very impatient, but Jie Peng was even more impatient than him, and his body even straightened and his eyes were fixed on the old man directly.
Professor Kaio glanced at the headmaster Wang and said in a single breath, "Kid, it's unfortunate that you have no talent for Imperial Spirit Master, and unfortunately your talent as the Spirit Warrior isn't great either.
"Your talent index is barely a 'One Star Fifth Index,' and you have a slight affinity with earth elements. If you're aiming to become a Spirit Warrior, it will be a tough journey for you."
"Moreover, although you have earth element affinity, it's not optimistic if you want to grow as a real warrior, because the nature of your earth element is very mild and lacks the vigorous attribute.
"Thus the best result would be to become a spirit farmer or earth spirit nurturer." Professor Kaio ended his sentence while shaking his head; there was pity in his old yet foxy eyes.
Honestly, such a result for any other student would not be bad even if many would cry out of joy.
After all, it's better to be a spirit farmer or earth spirit nurturer than to be an ordinary person.
But it's at least not a good result for Jie Peng. Because the Jie family is one of the top families in Yangwu.
If it's another family, it would not be bad; at least the person is not ordinary, but the Jie family is especially strict for the younger generation.
Anyone with worse talent would be sent out of the family even if he is from the main branch.
Jie Peng is the grandson of the third elder in the Jie family, and the third elder's status is not bad in the Jie family, as he's one of the top powerhouses even in Yangwu.
Being his grandson, although Jie Peng won't have to lose his status, it's unfortunate that he can only rely on his grandfather from now on.
If he wants to stay in the family, he would have to prove his worth; alas, now Jie Peng won't be able to use the family's resources, and everything he has is to rely on himself.
Even his grandfather won't help him too much; he would rather invest in other talented youngsters.
Jie's family, after all, survives on the rules that strength and talent matter, and nothing else.
'I'm done for...' Such a thought came into Jie Peng's mind when he got to know his results.
