Chapter 6: Awakened - Li Yanyan & Talent Index
Time one minute and one second passed, and Teacher Wu and other research professors looked attentively at the tightly shut metal rooms.
From time to time, Teacher Wu would talk to the head professor and ask about the student's situation.
Although only less than fifteen minutes passed by, there was no noise coming from the closed rooms. This situation is normal as it takes some time to adjust and sync the energy with the individual body.
It's just that for teacher Wu, the wait of each second is unbearable; one could see his expressions are seriously stiff, and even beads of sweat could be seen on his forehead.
It seems somewhat baffling to understand his situation, but the reason he is in such a serious mood is because the imperial envoy is still in Yangwu city.
And the reason for his stay is very obvious: because he is not only here to send the awakening potions bestowed by the king itself, even more so, he already clarified that he would bring back the final result to King Qing personally.
This batch of students is the most elite of their academy, and their result would even affect the future of Azure Cloud Academy of Yangwu.
As the in-charge of school teachers and as the vice-headmaster, Teacher Wu has such a serious mood because this year's result is very determining for him as well.
Just as he was thinking pros and cons, trial room number 11's blue light turned yellow.
Not only this, but even the virtual monitors in front of research professors show different frequency data and some strangely written records, and on the left side of the virtual screen, a virtual diagram of the student is visible.
The virtual body seems like a young girl in a ponytail; it looks lifelike but very stable.
This virtual image is drawn with the help of interlinked virtual frequency technology.
It could use the energy particle frequency to bombard the real body to create a virtual diagram body of that person; it could basically show not only external but even internal movements and flows of energy in that person.
Using this technology, they can monitor the person in trial rooms, and in case there is any emergency, they could move as soon as possible to resolve the issue.
Seeing the yellow light coming from room no. 11, teacher Wu gripped his fists tightly; even crackles could be heard; he indeed is anxious.
"Finally, there is some movement; this girl should be Li Yanyan... Hopefully, it should go well!" Teacher Wu said, then he turned to the right and asked the old man wearing a white coat and golden-rimmed round glasses, "Professor Kaio, are the little lass's vitals normal?"
Professor Kaio looked at the virtual monitoring screen carefully; after a few seconds, he said, "The little girl's vitals are normal; there is nothing wrong with it."
"She is now adapting to the profound spirit energy that is slowly injected into her body."
"It would only take a few minutes, and we would be able to confirm her talent after the awakening process is completed."
As he said, teacher Wu clicked on the watch he wore on his left-hand wrist, and a small virtual screen popped up.
He slightly moved his fingers and selected an option from the screen, and in a few seconds, a small virtual diagram of headmaster Wang Renshu could be seen.
"Xiao Wu, how is it? Is everything going smoothly over there?" Headmaster Wang Renshu asked in a serious tone.
"Headmaster Wang, indeed everything is going smoothly; just now student Li Yanyan went ahead and became the first to adopt the awakening trial."
"It would be a good start now; I hope you can come here and preside over this trial."
Headmaster Wang nodded his head and said, "Don't worry, I'll be there shortly. I was also waiting for the imperial envoy."
"Unfortunately, it seems it'll take some time for him to arrive."
"Your idea is also good, Xiao Wu. I think it would be okay if I come over there when the imperial envoy arrives; I'll just go again to pick him up."
Teacher Wu nodded in response and turned off the video call.
Just in the meantime, the room light of room number 11 turned green, and everyone's eyes focused on the monitoring screen.
Professor Kiao, who was looking over the data together with another middle-aged man, made a quick turnabout and checked the vitals.
"It's quite fast; I thought it'd take a few minutes, but this young girl seems to have a good affinity with profound spirit energy."
"It didn't take much time for her to adapt and even complete the trial; it seems the awakening potion even accelerated this process by a few times for her." Professor Kaio said, and he examined the data over the screen and sighed emotionally.
"Professor Kaio, how's her talent, and did she awaken?" Teacher Wu asked anxiously.
"Hmmm, unfortunately, she is not awakened as an Imperial Spirit Master, but she has the talent for Spirit Warrior, and if we talk about her talent, it is 'One Star, Seventh Index,' which is not bad."
'Unfortunately...' Teacher Wu shook his head and said in his heart. But then again, his heart calmed down.
Although the first person to complete the trail doesn't awaken as an Imperial Spirit Master, it's already a great start, especially since her talent as a spirit warrior is not bad.
'One Star, Seventh index' means in the future she at least has the chance to become a Silver Rank Warrior.
Silver Rank Warriors, even in Yangwu, are respected and elite existences.
Even he, 'Lin Wu,' is only a Silver Rank Warrior, so it's a pretty good start.
Just as he was thinking, the door of room number 11 opened, and a young girl named Li Yanyan walked out of the room nervously.
Although she had a bit of excitement showing on her face, there was also disappointment that was traceable in her eyes.
"Little girl, you don't need to be disappointed; you are already better than most."
"You should be happy that you have good talent; don't be sad." Professor Kaio saw the little girl walking towards the glass room while lowering her head and said as he reached out to her,.
"Really, Senior... am I good, I... I m..mean my talent?" Li Yanyan heard an old voice; she lifted her head and asked as her eyes were full of hope.
"Indeed, young lass, your talent is not bad, and in the future, if you continue to work hard, your future will be much better than mine... haha." Teacher Wu also reached out and patted her head lightly as he encouraged her in carefree manners.
"Vice-headmaster... Really! T... Thank you..." Li Yanyan could not help but smile as her face blushed due to excitement.
Just as teacher Wu and Professor Kaio were encouraging her, a person strides from the main door and laughs heartily as he praises Li Yanyan.
"Hahaha...! Good, good, student Li Yanyan, you have made a good start; this old man is proud of you young geniuses!"
The person came, who isn't but Headmaster Wang. Just in a few seconds, he was already in front of the trio.
"Headmaster Wang!" They responded in unison.
"Little Wu, didn't I say the students I've chosen are worthy of a special gift, so what is her talent ranking?" Old Wang asked as he curiously looked toward her.
Li Yanyan also couldn't help but be stunned for a second and looked anxiously toward Teacher Wu and Professor Kaio.
She also wants to know if her talent is indeed somewhat good..?
Professor Kaio didn't let teacher Wu break first and said promptly.
"Headmaster Wang, this young girl has good talent as a Spirit Warrior. Her talent is not bad and is 'One Star, Seventh Index.' Moreover, she has an affinity for Wood and Water attributes, which means she has diverse options in the future to choose from."
As he spoke, he directed his gaze towards her and proceeded to speak as if he were specifically addressing her.
"As she has an affinity with Wood and Water attributes profound spirit energy, which means she could become a support and frontline warrior."
"Not only this, if she doesn't have enough interest in being a warrior, she can still continue to cultivate and take special routes; like she can choose to become an Imperial Spirit Breeder or herbalist; even she should be able to dive into basic pharmacy and become a potionist or Spirit doctor."
"Other than these, there are many other career paths, and she needs to decide herself which path suits her the most."
Li Yanyan, who was worried a few minutes ago, suddenly smiled, and her smile was indeed brilliant with youthful vigor.
She is from a small family, and her parents are ordinary people.
Although her family is slightly rich but not too rich. Her dream is to become a successful lady who can let her parents be proud of her.
She didn't have a lot of resources like the rich second or third generations, so she always took her studies seriously.
No matter if it was martial studies or written exams, she always strived to do her best so that one day she could become someone who could let her parents smile and be gratified.
She has a basic understanding of the talent index, and indeed, as the professor said, her talent if is not the best but not the worst as well.
Talent ranking is divided into different levels and indexes.
From lowest to highest, it starts with One Star, Two Star Talent, Three Star Talent, and so on.
Each Star Talent has an index from 1-10; the 1st index is the worst, and the 10th index is the best in each star rank.
Although she only has a 'One Star Seventh index,' in her opinion, it's not just the best; it's even way much better than she thought, as for why, because each star is simply a different world.
In the entire Yangwu, or even if calculated in the entire Qingyun Kingdom, the One Star Seventh index' is not a bad talent.
Thus, she didn't feel anything if it was not Two Star or more.
In her opinion, if she even had the 'One Star 5th index,' she would be happy enough to jump over the heel.
As each star is divided into 10 indexes, the first three indexes are called the low tier.
From fourth to sixth is called the Medium tier, and from 7th to 9th is called the Upper tier.
Lastly, the 10th index is special and is called the peak index or extreme index of each star rank.
