Chapter 25: “Mama!”
Aon wanted to catch up on his homework, but the staff had already urged him to go to the doomsday gate.
"Okay, okay, everyone else has entered the gate. You're the last one!"
Aon wanted to roll his eyes.
He came here early in the morning and didn't even see the other co-stars he's supposed to film variety shows with...
And how come you guys are so casual about this??
Shouldn't he meet his co-stars first to avoid things being awkward during filming?
The doomsday entertainment industry was really strange and so different from the usual entertainment industry he was familiar with!
Aon couldn't get any reference to the variety show itself, so he could only infer one or two things from the title.
Alien roommate...
Maybe he has to live with an alien under the same roof?
Before Aon could think further, the staff in bodysuits had already brought him to the front of the steel gate.
Only when Aon stood in front of the gate did he realize that the gate was actually five meters tall.
It was huge!
And there was this strong flavor of futuristic.
The blue portal swirled and shone brightly, looking mysterious but also captivating.
So...this is the [Doomsday Gate]?
Is this created by the people in this world in order to go to various doomsday worlds, or is it formed naturally?
How come the people from the doomsday world on the other side of the gate can't enter this world, but the people from this world can go to the doomsday world?
There were still a lot of mysteries and confusions here.
Unfortunately, Aon didn't have time to think about it.
The staff had already motioned him to walk through the gate.
"Just be calm. You will only feel a little dizzy, and that's it."
"We will make sure that you are teleported to a safe place with no danger in the first ten minutes."
"Oh, right, if you see a virtual red line in your sight, it means you have touched the border of the F23 Doomsday filming site."
"Don't ever, ever leave the red line. Else, we won't be responsible if anything happens."
"Yeah, yeah! Once you leave the border of the filming site, we might not be able to locate you or teleport you back in an emergency!"
Only then did Aon feel the danger of this seemingly glamorous entertainment industry.
This industry might be built on top of corpses, bones, flesh and blood of many, many doomsday stars.
Aon took a deep breath and nodded at the staff around him.
"Okay, I'm ready!"
The staff immediately waved their hands, signalling Aon to walk.
The best actor slowly walked into the bright spiralling portal.
The next second, the bright light "swallowed" the boy from head to toe, and the person's whole body soon disappeared behind the blue portal.
The staff watched as Aon entered the Doomsday Gate and immediately reported it to the director and other staff in the control room above their studio.
[Director, the last star has entered! We can start the livestream!]
At the same time, Aon felt a slight dizziness but the next second, he walked out of the portal, and the surroundings changed.
The futuristic room, the bright gate, the staff...
Everything disappeared, replaced by a familiar desolate place.
Ruined buildings, a damaged road, lush trees and wild grasses growing everywhere...
This is a doomsday world.
The surroundings were silent, with no other noises except for the blowing wind.
There weren't even any birds flying in the sky.
Aon looked around with vigilance, not knowing that five invisible cameras the size of bees had already flown around him.
The eyes of these "bees" glowed in a green light, and soon, the livestream of the show started.
This show was indeed a big one, and it actually connected the livestream to four platforms at once!
The audiences from the four platforms who had been notified about the incoming livestreams immediately saw seven black grids on their screens.
The seventh grid in the middle was the largest, mainly known as the "main camera" while the other six grids were smaller, but each of them was the personal camera of the stars.
The audiences didn't wait for a long time because soon, all seven grids suddenly lit up with different colors and sceneries.
The middle grid, the biggest, showed an empty scenery of a desolate place, while the other six grids simultaneously showed the profile of six people.
Three men and three women.
The personal camera automatically captured the best angle for these stars.
If the audience didn't want to see all seven grids, they could also click on the small grid and focus on it, officially entering the personal livestream rooms of each star.
The fans of each star immediately clicked on the personal rooms of their idols, and they were greeted with smaller grids showing four other angles of their own idols.
Aon didn't know that the number of people entering his personal livestream room skyrocketed in just a few seconds.
[Ah! Isn't this the little star who was a hot topic on the Starnet just two days ago??]
[What the hell! The program's team actually invited him...]
[Who? Who is this? How come I don't know? Isn't he a newbie?]
[Guys, I saw Cha M Leon next door! The program's team actually invited him too!]
[Damnnnn. This will be fun. I love drama!]
[What's this season's theme? I forgot to read the program team's post.]
[It's 24 hours with zombies.]
[Zombies? That's so basic. Why can't they find a better alien than zombies?]
[I heard that it's because these zombies are new species or something...]
[Oh, really? Okay, I'm in, I'm in!]
Many unfamiliar audiences sent comments, but Aon's old audiences were also there, silently watching their little star looking around with sharp eyes.
Just when Aon was confused about what to do, a strange, hoarse male voice suddenly sounded in his mind.
[Test. Test. Can you guys hear me? This is the director, just call me Director Ma. If you can hear me, please speak in your mind.]
Aon subconsciously shouted in his mind.
[Mama!]
Director: ...
Staff: ....
Who invited this idiot to join their show??
