Chapter 23: “I Was Sold Out”
If Whack A Zombie was just a random online variety show that was so unpopular, the "My Alien Roommate" was a variety show that could be broadcast on TV.
"Darling, just to remind you, their livestream platform is either TakTek, Doyin, or MeCube, " Kate added.
Those are all big platforms.
The show also had their own regular spot in Netflick!
Of course, the fame of this show was limited to the planet they were currently on, S Pro planet.
However, rumors said that the show's fame was slowly growing and spreading to the capital planet of their Sam Sung Galaxy— S24 Ultra Planet.
"Ara~ ara~ This show is a black horse, the hope of our little planet, ah!"
Nyanco Entertainment was located on the small S Pro planet, so if the planet was a little bit more famous due to the variety show, they would also be happy.
Now, Aon was surprisingly invited to join the show and would star in all of the episodes, not just a random guest star for one episode!
"It's just that, darling..."
Kate hesitated to say the next thing, but she gritted her teeth and finally told Aon the truth.
"The show also invited Cha M Leon."
Aon raised an eyebrow but didn't look surprised.
"It's okay, big sis, I've already predicted this. The show wanted to take advantage of our rivalry to get more audience."
After all, some people who paid attention to the hot scandal during these few days were also from outside of S Pro Planet, including a small number from S24 Ultra Planet.
The show's team must be aiming to gain a foothold on the capital planet S24 Ultra, so they just used him and that tea guy as a stepping stone.
But for Aon, who had just debuted in the doomsday entertainment industry and had no resources, this was already like a pie from the sky!
"Accept it, big sis. We have to accept it! Did they say how much they would pay me?"
When talking about money, Aon's eyes instantly lit up.
Kate knew that the boy needed a lot of money, so she gestured a number, and Aon almost fainted from excitement.
Ten thousand star coins??
That's equal to $100.000!
Isn't this too generous for a newbie like him?
"That, big sis, how long do I have to film the show?"
Katie checked the holographic screen and said a number.
"Ara~ ara~ Just three days and two nights, darling~ "
Now, Aon understood why a lot of celebrities would risk their life to enter the high-level entertainment industry involving doomsday worlds.
The money is just too much!
"Okay, okay, let's sign the contract quickly! Should we go now, or?"
Aon was already geared up, and Kate also struck the iron while it was still hot.
"Let's go now, darling~ The variety show's program team is on our planet, so we can meet them asap~ "
Just like that, Aon left the isolation room with Kate in a few breaths and was honored to ride Kate's hover car.
When the car flew out of the filming base that looked like a secret laboratory from the outside, the entire futuristic city was revealed in Aon's grey eyes.
The sky was blue, there were virtual roads in the sky, with hover cars flying in a row, looking neat and organized.
Sky-high buildings with various 3D holographic images stood proudly, forming a huge area of steel forest.
The world was exactly like the futuristic world that Aon had imagined before.
The slim body of the hover car flew rapidly, and within a few minutes, they had already left the big city of steel behind.
Then, in less than an hour, Aon found himself entering a neighbouring city that looked more advanced than the previous city, but also more…"backward" in a sense.
Here, there were tastes of doomsday aesthetics everywhere.
Some buildings were built purposely to look like ruins, decadent and old.
Other places had simulated apocalypse parks for visitors to experience, and so on.
Even the holographic ads in the sky showed popular doomsday celebrities one after another.
Aon had never seen such a city that liked the doomsday aesthetic so much, but before he could think more about this, the car had already landed on the sky parking lot in a certain sky-high building.
This building was one of those "ruined" buildings that looked like it was left in the apocalypse.
However, the floating words in front of the building immediately caught Aon's eyes.
[Apoc City's Central Filming Base]
Aon had a hunch that this filming base was the biggest and most influential one in this city, or maybe even in the entire planet.
When the car entered the building and Kate accompanied Aon to walk through the corridors, Aon saw row after row of sealed-up rooms with different names.
[F-21 Apocalypse Gate]
[A-1 Apocalypse Gate]
And so on.
So, apparently...there were a lot of doomsday worlds or something?
Or one world could be divided into several filming sites?
Aon still couldn't understand how the whole doomsday entertainment industry worked until he signed the electronic contract under Kate's guidance.
And then...
The staff member dropped a bomb.
"Okay, it seems that your artist is ready to film. Let's just do the preparation now so we can shoot the show tomorrow."
Bang!
Aon immediately snapped out of his daze.
What da hell??
No one told him that he would shoot the variety show tomorrow!
But Kate seemed to be used to such speedy progress and confidently handed Aon over to the staff.
"Ara~ ara~ my little artist has just come out of the isolation room this morning, so please be nice and don't frighten him too much, okay?"
The staff nodded coldly and immediately separated Aon from his new manager.
Aon, caught off guard, almost shed tears on the spot.
"Auntie!! How dare you sell me out, ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Help! Helpppp— "
