I will strive beyond this cursed bloodline!

Chapter 48: .....Fricking Saintsworths....?

The traveler was fricking useless, or well, so far he hadn't been useful at all. First of all, he didn't know any way to block god-like entities from peeking at Elizabeth, or to be precise, he knew of the limits from where they couldn't peek.

Number one, you needed to have some degree of faith in them. If you believed in them to some degree, they had the door open to peek at you or into your mind.

Elizabeth…was somewhat at fault for that, since she knew for a fact that her parents were actual deities and very real. So yes, she would admit to be at fault for that, she didn't actually had faith in them as deities…Or well, not into Mother…She had seen that woman burn water. And not in the 'I left water boiling and now it's gone!' but as in 'I wanted to cook pasta but don't want mushy pasta, so I burned the water away.' kind of thing.

Yeah…That pasta did not work out.

That one was easy to solve; Elizabeth needed to consciously think about what she didn't want her Mother to be able to see, so all she needed was the intent of keeping her fantasies private, and that was that. Mother wouldn't be able to peek at what Elizabeth imagined.

Unless Mother sent good ideas, but Elizabeth wouldn't take too much hope in that, Mother was not a woman of a single girl to gush over, unlike Elizabeth. So, any fantasy she sent would probably include a new girl, and that was a turn-off for Elizabeth.

She loved Rossie and Rena, but that was about it. She could understand and respect loving cute girls as an ethos, but she would not cheat on her girlfriends. Not like that, ever.

Second!

One needed to pray or use their gifts, Agatha was screwed in this aspect, as she channeled and used Mother's skills, she would be forever a way for Mother to manifest her power in the material world, a fate worse than death really.

Elizabeth was safe in that regard, she had never channeled any skill, spell or Prana from Mother. Ever.

But…that was where it got…annoying.

Rossie, the sweet girl that she was, had received Mother's Prana, and her blessings…and her skills… The actual healing skills from Mother, the ones she had mastered all those centuries ago. At first, Elizabeth had been happy, Rossie was getting something that could help her dearly, and it also meant that Mother had acknowledged Rossie as a person! Even if she had pink hair!

But now? Now, Elizabeth couldn't help but curse at that. That had been the fruit of the poisoned tree. A cruel trap set up by Mother…For the moment Rossie accepted it, Rossie became a living camera that Mother could use to spy on them!

Every kiss, every snuggle, every caress that Elizabeth gave to Rossie, Mother would be able to use Rossie's eyes to see them.

Now…This is where it turned…weird.

Allegedly, this meant that Mother could watch 24/7 through Rossie, but Elizabeth knew that Mother wasn't into her (She hoped at least). The older woman never gave those vibes, but Mother was, and is, the Mother of Magical Girls…mostly because she loves cute girls in cute mini skirts.

Elizabeth…did qualify as one, and Mother loved seeing Elizabeth dressed in cute dresses, since little actually, she never did anything…weird to Elizabeth besides hugs and kisses on her cheek tho.

So…why would Mother want to see from Rossie's POV how Elizabeth….did her deed?

She didn't.

Arthur had some interesting ideas about that.

"She probably will use all the senses your girlfriend has access to, can she expand her senses? I assume she can since most S-Tier mages can do that to some degree," Arthur had said.

And…Rossie did have access to skills like those, namely, Elizabeth's shadow senses. Or multi-elemental senses, Rossie had her own ways of monitoring around and all her recording spells and whatnot. If Mother had access to those too…

Well, then Mother could see and monitor Elizabeth 24/7. Which meant that at the moment of the deed…Mother could indeed watch all, and Elizabeth couldn't do anything about it since she would be too busy (And horny) to think about anything else but going wild(And down) on her girlfriends!(Or wifes at that moment).

"I see," Elizabeth said nodding, "You are useless, I knew most of that already."

Or well, she didn't but she would have found out one way or another.

"Then don't ask about things that you know…This is why the Saintsworths…" Arthur grumbled, "I assume you didn't went all throught all this trouble just for that? Please don't be only that."

"Well, not really…I mainly rescued you because Jenna asked, as I said before." Elizabeth said, shrugging, "I was told you could help us, but…I guess we will use you in our less demanding issues."

Elizabeth sighed, she had hoped to get something useful out of this, but as it was…It wouldn't be, Elizabeth would need to find a way to purge Mother's Prana from Rossie, which would be hard since Mother's Prana had vestiges of Papa's Prana.

And getting rid of that…Why would Elizabeth want to do that? It was Papa! Unlike Mother he wouldn't peek, or do anything rude, if anything it was comforting knowing Papa also accepted Rossie enough to give him some of his Prana.

"Fine," Arthur said nodding, "I can help, I am grateful for your help, even if it was unneeded…and it gave the wrong impression…and got me on the sight of your new two overlords…"

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

Man did he complain.

"Thank you for being grateful, I did take great risks to save you, my Soul almost blew…and there is the almost cataclysmic event we went through…" Elizabeth said, nodding, "Anyway, what do you know about [The Prophet] and [The Warlock]."

"The what now?" Arthur asked confused.

"The Italians," Jenna said from the side helpfully, oh right, she was there!

"I know who they are, I mean besides those!" Arthur said loudly, "She almost blew her Soul?!?!? And the planet almost blew, too?!?!? What do you mean by cataclysmic event! What the hell did you do?!?!? Bringing me back to Zaanam should have only needed [Time] and maybe some [Space] tampering, but mostly Time!"

"I mean…I did only use [Time] as you said…but I don't use that as a means of attack," Elizabeth said shrugging, raising a hand and summoning an orb of Shadows, "I mostly deal with Shadows, I have been diversifying into Lightning and other elements, but my main way of combat is mostly Shadows and Lightning as of late."

"I swear to god…Why can't the other realities of Saintsworths be normal…" Arthur said, nursing a headache, "And how the hell were you going to cause cataclysms with those two? Actually, how did you save me if you only use those two?"

"Easy, I fused a [Gem of Time] with a [Gem of Envy]!" Elizabeth answered, summoning a projection of both gems in question, "That allowed me to create Mira, the blue-haired girl that was with us before. She is a Master of the elements that made her, so she was the one that actually brought you here. I do have some mild affinity with [Time] now…and I am a genius, so I should be able to do what she did with enough practice…Not that I am interested in that."

"....You are a monster." Arthur deadpanned at Elizabeth, "A goddamned monster….who….who even would fuse two highly condensed unstable [Aspectual fragments of Mana] like that? How are you even rational?"

"Rude," Elizabeth said scowling, "It was not scott free you know, my Soul almost bursted."

"OF COURSE IT WOULD! DO YOU THINK THESE THINGS WERE MEANT TO BE USED LIKE THAT?!?!?" Arthur howled at Elizabeth, then after a few seconds he took deep breaths to calm himself and continued "These are meant to be the crystalization of someone's efforts through their life, they rarely hold more than one of those. These are usually what are left of the Mana Cores of people when they fall, and only if they were highly compatible with what they did. I for example will probably left behind a [Gem of Time] or a [Gem of Travel]. Anyone with the same affinity as me may use it to enhance their power, or even try to get my understanding. But straight up fusing it with their Soul or another aspectual gem would outright kill them."

"Yeah…It was quite nasty," Elizabeth said, nodding, "Honestly, the worst combination so far."

"....so far?" Arthur asked confused, "No wait…no…."

"I'll take it in mind for the next one, at least we only have one more to go," Elizabeth said summoning her Crown of Sin for Arthur to see, the twelve gems shining on their spots for half a second before being teleported away.

Not that it would matter, as a master of Time, Arthur would probably have enough Time to examine each of them, or save a memory of this moment and do it later.

"....Fricking Saintsworths," Was all that Arthur said.

"You are one too," Elizabeth said smirking back at him, "Anyway, my Soul is more sturdy than usual, and I have the right type of body and Soul to achieve this, besides the skills to help me, the problem here was that my Soul advanced more than I had guessed so we had to move my Soulscape to real space far from Zaanam to prevent it from bursting out…I mean, I would probably survive it since I was told it is the normal and natural progression…"

"...And why would you need to move it far away from Zaanam?" Arthur asked confused, "Your Soulscape…what are you, fifteen? It should be at worst about a building, maybe a House? Depending on your upbringing…Who am I kidding, since those are your parents, then yours may be the size of an arena?"

"...Try a whole planet," Elizabeth said, shrugging, "You can understand why having a planet-size object appear within the gravitational pool of Zaanam would be bad?"

"...Fricking Saintsworths…" Arthur cursed yet again.

"Again, you are also a Saintsworths…Also I am not one, I am Starbright." Elizabeth pointed out.

"Your blood is that of a Saintsworths, your mother is a Saintsworths and look at what you are doing, have done and plan to do." Arthur pointed out, raising a finger with each phrase, "Now tell me that is not what a Saintsworths would do? Teleporting a planet away not because it was dangerous, not because people were at risk, but because it was an inconvenience? That is what your kin does."

"My kin?" Elizabeth asked, greatly annoyed at the fact that…it was the truth, she didn't teleport Terra Nexus away because it was a danger to her, to Rossie or to Rena, but because it would annoy her and disrupt her plans, "What do you refer with my Kin exactly."

"The Saintsworths from Terra Invicta, the same clan that madman Alexanders came from, the ones that absorbed my people into, corrupted them, replaced us and then tried to take over here." Arthur said pointing out, "Your kin, the type of people who built a galaxy-wide empire because they got annoyed with being served a restraining order, so fricking Alexanders colonized the galaxy, bought out the company of the one who served him a restraining order and sent him to the OTHER SIDE OF THE GALAXY!"

…That was kind of smart and asshole-ish.

"That kind of people," Arthur said, "The type of people who do ridiculous things and then act as if it is nothing, just because they want to look cool or important. Oh yeah? My Soulscape IS THE SIZE OF A PLANET, but it's fine. I teleported it away far away from our local solar system, so it's fine."

The man seemed to be having a panic attack, "Then she goes ahead and FUSES TWO THINGS THAT SHOULDN'T BE FUSED since she can't be bothered to learn Time Magic the normal way…" The man walked from side to side. "And now she asks me about the Italians, the very people who you shouldn't bother, the people that fricking Jack Brighton ignored because it was annoying to deal with…"

Papa ignored them? Elizabeth would guess that they helped Papa deal with some stuff, so he left them around, not that he ignored them.

"Out with it," Arthur suddenly said, "What are you planning to do? What do you want to do? Why are you asking me about them? Did they kick your puppy or something? No, who am I kidding? They probably mildly annoyed you, so now you are planning to uproot the whole underworld of Zaanam, aren't you? Of course you are."

…Elizabeth felt insulted.

"No?" Elizabeth answered first, "I mean…I don't plan to uproot the underworld or something…I just want to have a civil conversation…"

"Hold on a second," Arthur said, raising his hand; it shone in a kind of holographic type magic circle, Elizabeth had never seen a magic circle that looked more like code than rune style, but this man had them…Elizabeth would steal a few of those designs later, "Let me….Chrono Observer."

Then a pulse of Time mana surged, Elizabeth hadn't been paying attention that closely so while she could have stopped it from going out, she reacted too late to it, not that it seemed to do anything?

"Ugggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh………" Besides making Arthur groan…again, "Civil she says…as civil as your conversation with Eleanore?"

"...You saw that?" Elizabeth asked sheepishly, "I was planning to act civ-"

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? WHAT THE HELL DID YOU FUSE? ALL THE EVIL IN THE WORLD?" Arthur started screaming suddenly, the man raised a hand and a projection of the event showed itself, Elizabeth's body covered in The Ravenous Shadow while she spoke to Echidna.

A second later, Elizabeth's shadows started eating away the remnant of Ethan.

"Do you have any idea of how dangerous that thing is?" Arthur asked, freezing the image; the shadow there somehow continued moving, the mouths opening and closing, the eyes looking all around, "All the alternate timelines from that event are dead, no life there. All timelines where you made that before you were ready? Dead. We are the only timeline where that thing didn't run out of control! Do you know how difficult it is to create an actual end-of-the-world threat?!?!?!?"

"...Not very?" Elizabeth asked, dripping back into the bimbo speech.

"It is VERY MUCH DIFFICULT!" Arthur roared back, "Fricking Saintsworths…."

"First, ouch. Like I said, not an actual Saintsworths," Elizabeth said pointing that out, it bothered her very much since she was sensible about being called that, "Secondly…I fused [Gluttony] with [Shadows]...if you really wanted to know…The Shadows have been with me all my life, and while Gluttony wasn't something I liked or enjoyed, it was also an ever-present aspect of-"

"I can fricking see that very clear yes," Arthur said back interrupting Elizabeth, "Fine…Let me… It's just more Saintsworths bullshit…we can deal with it…Okay, I'm fine. Sorry for the outburst, I'm labeling everything you do as BS and not thinking about it, so? What's with the Italians then?"

…Elizabeth felt as if this wasn't advancing at all.

"I want to speak with them to make sure they don't plan to annoy me." Elizabeth said waiting for another outburst, "And…to ensure they will stay away from me, Rossie and Rena during our honeymoon?"

"Okay," Arthur said, nodding, "Fair enough, simple enough. Jenna should be able to get you in contact with them, but since you aren't…"

"I…am not a member of the [Twelve] anymore." Jenna said from the back.

"And I am?" Arthur asked confused, pinging once more the weird magic circle on his wrist, "Well I'll be, I am indeed…Wait, [The Nine Stars]? That's…unimaginative, but then again was the title of [The Twelve]."

"So…can you do it?" Elizabeth asked once more, measuring this man who was allegedly at the peak of the world power…

Who was also merely level 50.

"Yeah," Arthur said, nodding, "They left me in the rooster, so I can probably get inside; I can't wait to see how this all goes down the drain; it should be fun to see. I'll not fight by the way, not a fighter, unlike you Saintsworth monsters I am a pacifist."

"...Thank you?" Elizabeth said confused, was…was he actually going to help without sending them into a sidequest?

That was….refreshing? She still felt greatly insulted tho.
