I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 370: Inscription Stone and Mana Realms?

"Wasn't able to show up because they were needed elsewhere?" Viesta threw herself back, letting out an audible groan of dissatisfaction.

Once she felt the pillow make contact with the back of her head, she continued, "We had made an appointment days in advance, and yet they still chose not to show up, isn't that ridiculous?"

Lillian understood where Viesta was coming from. No one would be pleased about having something that had been waiting for days be cancelled or delayed.

Lillian then asked:

"Let me guess, this person didn't give a reason why they couldn't come?"

"Exactly! Wow, you sure are quite good at guessing. I guess being lucky really help with everything, huh?"

The corners of Lillian's lips wrinkled a bit as she slowly nodded. Lillian was glad her casual excuse for her actions could be explained through just being "Lucky".

Lillin then watched as Viesta twirled her wrist and caused a charred black stone to appear inside her hand. To those who were unknowledgeable of what it was, they would choose to believe it was a common coal.

However, to Lillian, she knew that this stone was actually an item called an Inscription Stone.

In this world, Enchanting was a sacred art used by both the humans of Earth and also in Hearth. By imbuing your Items with enchantments, you could achieve feats that would've been outside your limitations.

For example, be able to contend with monsters above your Tier and or having a higher amount of Mana Shells compared to you.

To be able to begin the process of Enchanting, you would first need to get your hands on an Inscription Stone—a special tool recognised by even the Jester and the Gods.

It was a tool that was capable of containing a conceptual characteristic. For example, if one were to have the Element of Air, they could imbue their mana into the stone and cause it to be able to inscribe enchantments related to that element.

It was even capable of containing the traits of a slain monster, granted that you had to acquire its Mana Core, which wasn't exactly a common find.

Even till now, Lillian hadn't yet acquired a monster's Mana Core.

...

Lillian's face morphed into a wry look. It could've also been that she hadn't actually been looking into finding them. If she remembered correctly, they were hidden inside a monster's body.

Lillian internally shook her head, 'Meh... Not like any of the monster's I've killed had been worth all of that hassle... 9 out of 10 times, they aren't even there.'

The core of a monster was able to exist outside of its body as long as it still contained even a droplet of mana. However, just like an animal backed into a corner, it would use every means necessary to win.

Even monsters that hadn't been given enough control over their mana would unconsciously use it whenever their life was in danger. Sometimes, because of this, monsters below C-rank may even unlock the ability to manipulate the energy on a whim.

Lillian wiped an imaginary drop of sweat from her brow. So far, a scenario like that hadn't yet happened, thankfully. But she wasn't sure how long she could continue being "lucky" enough to experience it.

Viesta watched as Lillian held the Inscription Stone she passed to her. Viesta gave a small smile, finding the girl rather interested in the stone and asked a curious question:

"Have you ever thought about getting into enchanting?"

"Hm? Enchanting?" Lillian looked up from the stone. She hadn't given it much thought, to be honest. "Not really..."

There wasn't really something Lillian needed made; she could just buy it from her system shop.

Currently, Lillian has all the items she needs. But if there was something she truly needed made...

She would first need to learn how to enchant. Because the game never actually showed the process of learning techniques or doing them. Instead, it just played a small mini-game for you to do.

Which was rather fun in Lillian's opinion.

After giving back Viesta's Inscription Stone, Lillian asked:

"By the way, what were you doing sitting on your bed here?"

"Huh? Oh, that. I was just trying to grasp entry into my Mana Realm."

Lillian blinked at her for a moment before opening her mouth into an 'O' shape, "Oh...! You're still at the first Tier, aren't you?"

Viesta immediately shot back up to a seated position. In an attempt to protect her status and not cause any misunderstanding, she said:

"H-hey! I may not be of the second Tier like you yet, but I'm still strong, either way."

Lillian smirked, waving her hand in a dismissive but also casual manner, "I didn't say you weren't, Viesta~. I'm just pointing that out, that's all."

"Uh, huh... By the way, how do you know of my Tier?" Viesta raised an eyebrow, only now realising that Lillian knew something that she hadn't revealed.

Seeing that she was now under heavy suspicion, Lillian couldn't help but give a nonchalant huff and chill shrug. Lillian had already devised a believable excuse, which on top of her earlier excuse about her luck...

"I've acquired a very strong hunch on a person's strength when I entered my second Trial. I'm also just good at guessing."

... She felt this would do.

Viesta gazed at Lillian silently before widening her eyes slightly at the sound of the "Second Trial". Viesta then softened her gaze, convinced. It was uncommon for people to be able to acquire these skills—they were commonly found in those who had experienced countless near-death experiences.

"Ah... Was the boss monster of your Trial difficult to defeat?"

Slightly surprised by the abrupt question, Lillian tilted her head. But she answered nonetheless:

"It was... It was easy with the help of Marionette. That's all I can really tell you."

Viesta nodded slowly, patting Lillian's shoulder with a pitying look, "I envy you. But anyway, I should return back to trying to grasp how to get in... I've only seen it once and I want to see it again."

"Yeah, no problem. I'm just going to grab something to eat, then. Have you done that?"

"Yeah, I'm all good. Actually, I've got you something."

Viesta pulled out a plastic bag from her spatial ring and handed it over to Lillian, who looked inside and found a small container with an 'M' on it. Lillian widened her eyes, discovering it to belong to a fast-food brand.

"Oh, thanks! You really didn't have to—"

"Nah, no worries! You paid for this room, for who knows how long. I'm really thankful for that."

Lillian went to the other side of the room and ate what was found inside the container. And as Lillian did this, she couldn't help but think deeply about Viesta's desire to enter her Mana Realm.

A person's Mana Realm was usually unique only to them. Of course, there being similarity with others was always a case; it was predominantly unique.

It was a magical realm inside a person's Mana Core, which held the purpose of holding a person's Shards or displaying the current state of their mana.

But it could also hold a purpose in dictating a person's Mana behaviour and how it may act when used.

From what Lillian remembered, her Mana Realm was as boring as it came. Just an endless flat sea of water with a cloudy blue sky. The only thing noteworthy about it was that Lillian could walk on the surface of it as if there was a thin layer of glass.

Compared to some that may have special entities within their Mana Realm that acted like guardians, Lillian's was truly plain.

The types of Realms that held these guardians would benefit the owner greatly as sparing partners.

Deciding to take a look at how her Mana Realm was doing, Lillian sat in a cross-legged position on her bed and breathed in deeply.

Closing her eyes and waiting for a second, Lillian opened them a moment later and found her lying under a sea of clouds gliding above her, like a herd of sheep migrating over land.

Sitting up, Lillian covered her eyes, momentarily blinded by the blue sky and its non-existent sun. After adjusting, Lillian pushed herself up to her feet.

Lillian looked down and stared at the sea beneath her. Anything past ten metres deep became incredibly dark and murky—hard to see through. It gave it an ominous appearance, as though some horror was lurking under the surface she was standing on.

Lillian eventually drew back her gaze from it and flipped her hand up, causing six individual bubbles of varying sizes to erupt from the deep ocean.

Floating within each of these bubbles was her current loadout of Shards. They ranged from her gauntlets, her necklace, boots, shortsword, her black cloak, and lastly the Beetle inside its glass shard form.

"6 Shards..." That was her current maximum. After completing her next Trial, this limit would be increased by three.

Lillian hadn't yet swapped out some of her gear for the Black Maw, which she might need to if Marionette believed it would be recommended to bring for the fight with the Alpha.

"Well... Is there really a..."
