Chapter 341: Effects of Love?
Marionette stared at Beatrice's back, which faded in the crowd, before turning her gaze down to Lillian.
The white-haired girl, still gaping at what had just occurred, felt her chin clutched by the Assassin. Feeling her chin pulled upwards, her eyes were raised to Marionette's face, who stared down at her intently.
"Leave that closed for until we get back home, Lillian."
"E-eh? What's that supposed to mean?"
Marionette gave Lillian an odd look, but then a playful look as she blinked at them, causing the Rabbit to blush red as she pulled away and clutched her cheeks.
Marionette stared in amusement.
Soon enough, they left.
And just like that...
A few days had gone by.
And over those few days, nothing overly special and exciting had happened. Other than her mother leaving two days after the ceremony.
However, before she did, Veronica couldn't help but embarrass Lillian a bit by showing off toddler and infant photos to Marionette while also listing out moments.
"Oh! And there was one time when she disappeared for half a day!" Veronica gasped, placing the tips of her fingers on her forehead, "Luckily, her brother found her before we called in a search party."
And as Veronica continued to recount all of this, Marionette soaked in the information with the keenest of interest a person could ever have. This left Lillian more embarrassed than she should have been.
"Have a safe trip back!" Lillian waved, watching as a white car drove away.
She then arrived back inside her apartment and entered her living room. She threw glances around the room, trying to find a particular Assassin. However, she failed.
She shrugged and strolled over to the window, opening it and resting her elbows.
Pulling out her phone, she looked through the messages she received.
[Reph: Why I decided not to join?]
When she got news that Reph had decided not to join the Student Council, she instantly shot him a message.
[Reph: I've noticed the look Roselle was giving you recently. And I'd rather not perish over some misunderstanding. So, I felt like handing over my position to her.]
[You: That's... Well, she's definitely happy about it, I'm certain.]
[Reph: Looks like I'll finally have some peace at night. Do make sure to put in a good word for the Royal Family. I believe they're still deciding their political sides, currently.]
Lillian stared at this message.
'Huh... I forgot about that.' She then paused before adding, 'Oh, right. I should probably ask what her Flaw is.'
[You: Sure, no problem.]
She then swiped off and checked her emails. And currently, she has yet to be given anything. However, she was certain she would be getting it on the 15th.
She looked up towards the night sky, staring at the moon's silver brilliance.
'We won't be having the exams on the 14th... We'll even be given a few months off until July, I think.'
She then froze, 'Wait, isn't Marionette's birthday coming up in a few days?'
As she was thinking this, she felt something underneath her armpits wrap around her chest. And following that, she felt something soft press tightly against her back.
Lillian shivered, feeling a person's breath beside her ear, breathing against her lobe and whispering:
"Why haven't you come to bed immediately?"
"H-hey!" Lillian yelled, startled.
She watched as the woman's arms snaked around her chest. And this couldn't help but cause her to be slightly anxious... Especially when the woman suddenly began to nibble on the edges of her ear.
Her face immediately flushed red as her lips turned incredibly shaky. She twisted her body around, intending to confront the Assassin.
However, she then felt the woman's left hand slip from around her chest and towards the back of her neck.
She then heard the woman ask:
"I presume your mother is indeed gone, correct?"
"W-well... Yeah?"
Marionette raised her right hand and brushed a lock of Lillian's white hair behind her right ear.
And as she heard what came out of the girl's mouth, she smiled slightly.
"That's nice..." She then slowly brought her right index finger down and pressed it against the centre of Lillian's white shirt in a seductive manner.
"It seems that we are finally alone together, Lillian."
"W-wait, h-hold on—!"
Marionette then softly pressed her lips against the white-haired girl, silencing her as she moved away. Then, after a few seconds, she moved back in and pecked her again.
A few gentle kisses, then turned more passionate. Eventually, all sounds that could be made were now either intimate moans or the sounds of their lips separating.
Their bodies twirled around. Spectated by the moonlight. And soon enough, they fell over the couch.
Lillian, who was surprised and startled by it at first, leaned into it as she became lost in the taste of the Assassin's lips. And this statement could be said the same for Marionette, as well.
Their hands roamed each other's backs and even gave playful, small gropes at one another. Not anything too harmful or arousing, but something that was enough to hint at their love for one another.
And as they continued on, they eventually took it to the bedroom, which was where, after a couple of hours, Lillian finally managed to convince the Assassin to calm down and sleep.
Once the lights were flicked off, they were wrapped in each other's arms as they laid under the blanket, enjoying each other's warmth and comfort.
Soon enough, Lillian's breathing became rhythmic.
She had fallen asleep first.
Marionette, staring down at the lovable Rabbit, couldn't help but let a large smile take over her lips as she leaned in, pressing her forehead against the girl.
She couldn't help but feel something violent inside her heart as she stared at Lillian.
Ba-dump...
She changed... She changed a lot after coming to the academy, more specifically, after her second Trial, or even when she first met Lillian.
Her dark and gloomy days were... Finally gone.
The days when the world felt so grey and... Depressing to her were gone. She felt much more alive. Much more living. And even excited sometimes to the next day to come.
Was this... The effects love had on someone?
