I Thought It Was a Fairy Tale but the Genre Is Strange

chapter 25

The Three Little Pigs (5)

“Uh, mom? Honey? Mom???”

The pig widened its eyes and tilted its head. It struggled to get up and trudged towards the corpse of the mother pig.

“No, don’t, honey. Uh, mom, uh, mom!!!!”

The pig ran. It ran and ran with its short, fat legs. It ran like crazy. Snorting. Shedding tears. It ran like a baby trying to hug its mother.

We left it alone. To make the pig realize exactly what it had done.

But why? Why does it feel so unsettling? That waddling run. It felt unnatural. If it was running towards the mother pig, it should have slowed down near her.

But for some reason, the pig’s running speed increased. Belly fat jiggling, panting.

“Wait, could it be…?”

No, it can’t be. No matter how much of a trash that pig is, it wouldn’t do that.

Ariel had the same uncertain expression as me. But Alice…

“Kya ha ha ha! That pig is even more shameless trash than I thought~?”

Alice’s reaction confirmed it for me. And I started running. The pig ran right past its mother’s corpse.

“Ha ha ha ha! Stupid honey! Thanks to mom, I avoided the crisis, honey! I was anxious because I had nothing left to sell after selling mom, but she helped me like this, honey!! Mom is the best, honey!!!”

“You crazy piece of trash!!!!!”

I shouted at the top of my lungs. I can never forgive it. I tried to give it time to mourn its mother’s death out of the remaining shred of human compassion, but it used that time to escape? I will never forgive you!!! Never!!!

“Kya ha ha ha ha! Are you mad? Your face is as red as a tomato~”

[Is this really the time to say that!? We need to catch that damn pig and beat it up!!]

Ariel and Ellis, both with excellent athletic abilities, quickly caught up with me. They overtook me to catch the pig. Damn, I should have exercised more!! But still, it’s reassuring to have them with me. The pig, with its fat body, managed to escape the field and enter the forest.

However, with Ariel and Ellis’s speed, they could easily catch up with it. Especially Ellis, who even overtook Ariel.

“Kyaahahahaha~ The game of tag begins~ If you get caught, I’ll take your pork belly and grill it~”

“Oink oink oink!!!”

Suddenly, the sound of the pig’s squeal echoed from the forest. We slowed down and eventually stopped running. There was no need to chase any further.

The pig was right in front of us. Not standing, but floating in the air, its legs flailing. The pig’s face was held by a wolf that looked about 3 meters tall.

Behind the massive wolf, several other wolves stood in line with solemn expressions. I was more surprised by the size of the wolf than the fact that the pig was caught. How can it be so tall?

“Hmm, are these the ones?”

A clear burn mark was visible on one side of the massive wolf’s face. His voice was extremely calm.

“You’re the ones who crippled our kids, right?”

I gulped as I looked at the wolf’s mouth, which could swallow half of my body in one bite.

“Uh, are you the boss of those wolves?”

“Yes. I am the boss of those incompetent ones. I came here myself because I heard our goods had escaped.”

“Oh, I see.”

Wow, look at those terrifying claws. They’re twice the size of the other wolves’. One swing of those claws could easily smash a bull’s head.

“Heh~ Are you saying that we are the goods?”

Ellis looked up at the wolf with her hands behind her back. The wolf boss chuckled as if it was ridiculous.

“Yes, you are included.”

[What nonsense!! Why are we the goods! The pig sold us off on its own! Do you want to become skewers?]

Ariel, in a fit of anger, conjured a trident made of water. The wolf didn’t flinch at Ariel’s threat.

“No, you are merchandise too. From the moment this fat pig sold you off, you became merchandise. The pigs that have already entered my stomach used to say the same things as you. Ah~ The meat was so tender. I’m curious about your taste too. And… you as well.”

The wolf boss drooled as he brought the pig right up to his nose. The pig, startled, tried to scream, but his mouth was covered by the wolf’s hand, so only muffled sounds could be heard.

“Ah~ This thrilling smell of blood. Thanks to your fat, even your blood smells greasy.”

The wolf sniffed the pig’s crushed hand, then stuck out his thick tongue and licked it. The pig, in pain, struggled, but the wolf didn’t care and opened his mouth wide.

With a snap, the wolf’s mouth closed around the pig’s hand and swallowed it whole. It was so natural and clean. The pig, not realizing what had happened, saw the gruesome sight of his severed arm when the wolf’s mouth pulled back, and his eyes widened in shock.

Tears welled up in his eyes, and despite his muffled cries, a small, desperate scream of pain began.

“Slurp, mmm. The flavor of this foreleg is excellent. I like it. It’s even better than your siblings.”

“Mmph mmph!!!”

“Haha, does it hurt? Don’t worry. This is just the beginning. I kept you alive to eat your entire family. But now that only you are left, it’s your turn. Accept the honor of entering my stomach.”

As the wolf opened his mouth to eat the other hand, Elise swung her mace at his face.

Clang!!

The sound of metal clashing. The wolf boss didn’t block it. Instead, another one-eyed wolf blocked her mace with an axe. But his expression wasn’t good. The blade of the axe was vibrating.

“Huh? What is this gluttonous wolf doing? That pig is ours. Who gave you permission to eat it?”

The wolf boss glanced at Elise and us, then bared his sharp teeth in a grin.

“I told you.

[How dare you threaten my prince? Stealing a trash pig wasn’t enough, now you pull this kind of stunt? Prepare to die.]

“Ha! For a mere girl, you sure talk a lot! I don’t know what kind of vile trick you used, but we are the elite! Scum like you are…!”

Thud. The wolf, who had been running his mouth in front of us, collapsed forward. A small hole was drilled into the head of the wolf lying on the ground, and a liquid mixed with brain matter and blood flowed out. The wolf, with the same mocking expression, became a cold corpse.

Ariel pointed her index finger, making a gun shape with her hand, and blew on her finger.

[Where do you think you’re going? You guys better be ready to get holes in your heads too.]

“Kill her!!!”

Despite their comrade being taken down in an instant, the elite wolves swung their deadly weapons and charged. There were so many of them that Ariel, struggling at the front, managed to fend them off, but eventually, one wolf took advantage of Ariel’s distraction and lunged at me.

[Prince, watch out!!!]

“Die!!!”

“Ugh!!!”

The enemy swung a heavy sword, spitting saliva along with it. I barely managed to lift my scythe to defend myself.

Ariel wanted to help me, but if she did, there would be a gap in the front line, allowing the overwhelming numbers to break through, so she looked at me with pained eyes while repeatedly slaughtering the wolves.

[Just hold on a little longer, Prince!!]

“Ugh! I’ll try!”

“Kahahahaha! You’re so weak! I’ll chop you up into tiny pieces and make you into a meat patty!”

What is this crazy wolf saying! Every time the wolf’s sword clashed with my scythe, the vibration shook me to my bones. His attacks were simple, but the power was overwhelming, and the scythe was heavy, making it hard to defend, and sweat poured down my face.

I urgently turned my gaze to Elise. Elise’s opponent was also formidable, and they were engaged in a fierce battle.

Ugh, there’s no one to help me right now. I have to handle this on my own!

“Kahahahaha! I can smell it! The smell of fear, the smell of you wetting yourself!”

“I didn’t wet myself!!!”

Vwoom! The blade of his sword sliced through the air. Fear had me desperately blocking, but I decided there was no need to waste my strength defending against that heavy attack with my scythe, so I dodged. And the wildly missed attack left an opening.

A perfect opportunity!

“Uaaah!!”

I screamed as I swung my scythe. But I had overlooked something. Just as his sword was heavy, so was my scythe. My attack was clumsy and slow, giving the wolf time to counterattack. The wolf, perhaps mocking my attack, swung his sword at my neck instead of dodging.

Though I swung my scythe first, our speeds were the same. The sensation of blood rushing to my head. My heart raced, and time seemed to slow. The sword slowly cut through the fuzz on my neck, just before touching my skin.

Thud.

The chilling sensation of the blade digging into flesh, felt through my fingertips.

“Ke, kekekeck.”

My neck stopped just short of the wolf’s blade, but the wolf’s neck was different. My scythe pierced through his neck and protruded from the other side.

The wolf reached out and grabbed my scythe, pulling it out.

“Hey, hey, wait a minute!”

Swoosh!! A fountain of blood gushed from his neck. The blood rained down, soaking my entire body. As I lay on the ground, watching the dying wolf spew blood, I thought.

Ah, I want to go home.
