Chapter 49: Chapter 49 Almost killed Kabuto Yakushi, Naruto wants to go to heaven
The Power of the Nine-Tails!
Kabuto Yakushi's pupils contracted sharply as he fell into the tree hole. Across from him, Naruto stood menacingly, his body radiating red chakra from the seal. The sheer intensity of the Nine-Tails' aura struck fear into Kabuto.
Naruto, oblivious to Kabuto's thoughts, growled in anger. His right arm, which had been used to block an attack, was regenerating at an incredible speed, the sound of cells rearranging filling the silence. It was Kabuto's medical ninjutsu—Yin Healing and Injury Destruction—working to repair the damage.
"You dared to harm Sakura while I was unconscious?" Naruto snarled, his voice filled with rage. "Unforgivable!"
Kabuto stared at Naruto, his gaze unreadable. He seemed poised to speak, but Naruto wasn't interested in listening.
"The Art of Multiple Shadow Clones!"
Before Kabuto could react, dozens of white puffs of smoke erupted around them. In seconds, thousands of Naruto clones filled the area, surrounding Kabuto entirely.
"I will never trust you again!" Naruto roared. "You hypocritical, black-hearted snake! Everyone, attack!"
Kabuto's face darkened as the clones lunged at him, a tidal wave of fists and fury. Even with all his skill, it was impossible to fend off so many opponents. Worse still, fighting at full strength might alert the Konoha forces and jeopardize Orochimaru's plans.
Kabuto grimaced, silently cursing his predicament. Orochimaru had explicitly forbidden him from provoking Naruto or Sasuke, yet here he was, fighting for his life against an enraged Jinchūriki.
"Naruto, you misunderstand—I didn't mean any harm!" Kabuto shouted, desperation creeping into his voice. To show his sincerity, he pulled two scrolls from his pouch and hurled them toward Naruto. "Here! These scrolls are for you!"
Naruto hesitated, his eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Ha! Do you think I'm stupid? This must be a trap—a fake scroll!"
Without a second thought, he kicked the scroll away and signaled his clones to prepare for another attack.
Kabuto groaned inwardly, berating Naruto's stubbornness. The boy's arrogance was making this fight far more chaotic than it needed to be.
The clones continued their assault, their movements enhanced by the Nine-Tails' chakra. Each clone was faster, stronger, and more durable than the standard shadow clone, giving Kabuto little room to maneuver.
Naruto and his clones simultaneously formed seals, their voices ringing out in unison: "Wind Release: Super Breakthrough!"
Hundreds of clones released a devastating gust of wind, the combined force coalescing into a raging whirlwind. The sheer power of the attack tore through trees, sending debris hurtling toward Kabuto.
Kabuto gritted his teeth, activating Healing and Injury Destruction to accelerate his regeneration. The attack was powerful, but he managed to withstand it, though not without significant effort.
"Hmph, is this the extent of the Nine-Tails' power?" Kabuto muttered, a trace of disdain in his voice. "Compared to the One-Tails' Jinchūriki from Sunagakure, Naruto is still far too weak."
Kabuto's confidence faltered when a new voice cut through the chaos.
"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Technique!"
Sasuke's shout echoed across the battlefield as a fiery dragon roared toward Kabuto, merging with the whirlwind. The combined force of wind and fire created a blazing inferno, engulfing the area in a sea of flames.
Kabuto's eyes widened in horror as the flames closed in. Realizing there was no other option, he activated a powerful earth-release technique.
"Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique!"
Kabuto burrowed underground just as the flames consumed the battlefield. When the firestorm subsided, there was no trace of him.
Naruto scanned the scorched landscape, frustration etched across his face. "He escaped!" he growled. "Sasuke, this is your fault! Your fire technique was too slow!"
Sasuke ignored Naruto's complaints, his crimson Sharingan analyzing the situation. He turned his attention to Naruto, noticing the sinister aura surrounding him.
"This isn't just the Nine-Tails' chakra," Sasuke thought to himself. "The Curse Mark... could it be influencing him?"
Naruto, however, was unfazed by Sasuke's scrutiny. "Don't talk down to me, Sasuke! I'm stronger now—strong enough to take you on! If Kabuto dared to harm Sakura, why shouldn't I kill him?"
Hearing Sakura's name, Sasuke's expression darkened. Without a word, he sprinted toward the tree hollow, his heart racing.
"Wait!" Naruto shouted, running after him.
As Sasuke neared the hollow, a familiar voice called out from the forest.
"Sasuke-kun! Naruto! Over here! I think I found something!"
It was Sakura. Relief flooded Sasuke as he changed course, heading toward her voice.
When they arrived, they found Sakura examining the scrolls Kabuto had left behind.
"These look real," Sakura said, holding up one of the scrolls.
Naruto snatched the scroll from her hands and inspected it closely. "Hah! It really is the Heaven Scroll!" he exclaimed triumphantly. Turning to Sasuke, he grinned smugly. "Looks like I beat you this time, Mr. Top Student!"
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Naruto's antics.
"Why don't we settle this with a fight?" Naruto suggested, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Whoever wins gets to be the top student!"
Sasuke sighed, his Sharingan still active. Naruto's newfound arrogance was irritating, but there was no denying his growth. The Nine-Tails' chakra, combined with his natural stamina, made him a formidable opponent.
Still, Sasuke wasn't about to let Naruto have the last word. "Fine," he said coolly, "but don't expect me to go easy on you."
Before the two could clash, Sakura stepped between them.
"Enough, you two!" she snapped. "This isn't the time for petty rivalries. We have the scrolls—let's focus on passing the exam!"
Naruto and Sasuke exchanged glances but said nothing.
---
As the group made their way through the forest, tensions between Naruto and Sasuke remained high. Despite their frequent arguments, both boys were keenly aware of the challenges that lay ahead.
For Naruto, this was an opportunity to prove his strength and protect his comrades. For Sasuke, it was a chance to test his abilities and uncover the true extent of Naruto's power.
Meanwhile, Kabuto emerged from the ground several miles away, his body battered but intact. He leaned against a tree, panting heavily.
"That brat..." he muttered, recalling Naruto's fiery determination. "He's more dangerous than I thought."
Kabuto knew he would have to report this encounter to Orochimaru. But as he limped away, he couldn't shake the image of Naruto's blood-red eyes.
"Is this the power of the Nine-Tails?" Kabuto thought, a shiver running down his spine. "No... it's something more."
Back in the forest, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura pressed on, their resolve stronger than ever.
Unbeknownst to them, their actions had already set into motion events that would change the course of their lives—and the fate of the ninja world—forever.
