Chapter 99: the strongest high-ranked Djinn(3)

The cavern groaned under the strain of the ongoing battle. Stalactites trembled as shockwaves rippled through the air. Streams of molten rock and shimmering magic illuminated the cavern in a chaotic dance of light and shadow. Dakota stood at the forefront, his fiery aura an inferno of blue, burning brighter and hotter than ever before. His face was calm, but his eyes burned with determination.

The Djinn loomed before them, its colossal form cracking under the relentless assault from Dakota and his team. Its molten body shimmered with unstable energy, glowing brighter with each passing moment.

Djinn: "You dare challenge me? I am the eternal flame! You are but fleeting embers!"

The Djinn's voice boomed through the cavern, shaking the walls with its rage. It slammed its massive fists into the ground, sending rivers of molten rock surging toward the group.

Dakota: "And I'm about to snuff you out."

Behind him, Henry, Ava, Liam, and Lucas stood ready, each in their transformed magic forms. Henry's fiery blade burned brighter with each swing, its orange light illuminating his determined expression. Ava's entire body radiated waves of heat, her fiery wings unfurling behind her. Liam hovered above the ground, arcs of electricity crackling around him, connecting him to the walls of the cavern like a living storm. Lucas, clad in armor of crystalline ice, exhaled a freezing mist that cooled the sweltering air.

The team exchanged a brief glance, understanding passing silently between them. This was it—this was the moment they had to give it everything they had.

Henry: "Let's bring this thing down for good."

Ava: "Don't hold back. We end this now."

The Djinn raised its molten arms, summoning a swirling vortex of fire and magma. The inferno roared to life, spiraling toward the group with unstoppable force. Dakota stepped forward, his blue flames surging outward to meet the attack. The two forces clashed, creating a deafening explosion that sent waves of heat and ash through the cavern.

Dakota: "Henry, Ava, hit it from the sides. Liam, Lucas, cover me!"

Without hesitation, the team sprang into action.

Ava launched herself into the air, transforming into a spinning tornado of fire. Her blazing form cut through the cavern, striking the Djinn's side with explosive force. At the same time, Henry charged forward, his fiery blade slicing through the molten rock protecting the Djinn's core.

Ava: "Lucas, freeze it in place!"

Lucas raised his hands, summoning a massive wave of ice that surged forward and solidified the ground beneath the Djinn. Jagged spears of ice erupted from the ground, piercing the creature's molten body. Steam hissed and billowed as the opposing elements collided.

Lucas: "That should slow it down."

Liam floated higher, his body glowing with electric energy. With a roar, he unleashed a barrage of lightning bolts, each one striking the Djinn with pinpoint precision. The creature howled in pain, its molten body cracking further under the relentless assault.

Djinn: "You think this is enough to destroy me? I am eternal! I am flame incarnate!"

The ground trembled as the Djinn released a pulse of molten energy, shattering Lucas's ice and forcing the group to retreat. Dakota stood firm, his blue flames shielding him from the blast.

Dakota: "You talk too much."

He clenched his fists, the air around him shimmering with heat. His flames surged higher, the blue fire consuming the cavern's light and casting everything in a ghostly glow.

Henry: "Dakota, what are you—"

Dakota: "Trust me. Keep it distracted."

Understanding the urgency in his voice, the others continued their assault. Ava and Henry struck from opposite sides, their fiery attacks creating explosions that reverberated through the cavern. Lucas summoned another wave of ice, while Liam's lightning rained down in a relentless barrage.

Meanwhile, Dakota focused inward, tapping into the depths of his power. The primal energy of his magic flowed through him, growing stronger with each passing second. He could feel the weight of the Djinn's presence pressing against him, but he refused to falter.

Dakota (thinking): No more holding back. If I'm going to protect them, I need to go all out.

The Djinn roared in frustration, its molten form flickering as it struggled to withstand the combined assault. But it wasn't finished. Summoning the last of its strength, it raised its massive hands, calling forth a fiery tempest that filled the cavern with searing heat.

Djinn: "You will all burn in my eternal flames!"

Dakota stepped forward, his voice calm but filled with authority.

Dakota: "Not today."

He raised his hands, and the blue flames around him began to condense. The cavern dimmed as the fire formed into a massive, spiraling sphere of pure energy. The air itself seemed to tremble under the immense power he held.

Dakota: "This ends now. Azure Cataclysm."

The Djinn hesitated, its molten form trembling under the overwhelming force of Dakota's magic. Before it could react, Dakota hurled the sphere forward.

The sphere flew through the air, colliding with the Djinn in a blinding explosion of blue light. The force of the impact shook the cavern to its core, shattering the remaining stalactites and sending waves of energy rippling outward.

The Djinn let out a final, ear-splitting roar as the blue flames consumed it completely. Its molten body crumbled, reduced to ash that scattered in the wind.

When the light faded, the cavern was silent. The only sound was the faint crackling of Dakota's flames as they flickered and died. He stood at the center of the battlefield, his body steaming from the immense heat of his attack.

The others stared at him in awe, their exhaustion momentarily forgotten.

Ava: "What... what was that?"

Dakota: "Something I've been working on. Didn't think I'd need it, but here we are."

Dakota (thinking): well more like I copied it from my Lord on earth, but they don't know who my Lord is so I won't tell them.

Henry sheathed his sword, a smirk playing on his lips.

Henry: "Well, it worked. That thing's gone for good."

Lucas exhaled a deep breath, his ice armor dissolving into mist.

Lucas: "Let's hope we don't run into anything worse than that anytime soon."

The group exchanged tired but triumphant smiles. They had done it—together, they had defeated the Djinn and survived.

As they began to exit the cavern, Dakota glanced back at the smoldering remains of the Djinn, a flicker of unease crossing his face.

Dakota (thinking): If I needed Azure Cataclysm to end this, what's waiting for us out there?

He shook the thought away, focusing instead on the bond he shared with his friends. For now, the battle was over, and they had earned their victory.
