Chapter 101: younger sister kidnapped(1)

After three months of grueling training and relentless missions, Dakota and his group finally returned to the academy.

This time, they didn't look like typical academy students. They carried themselves like heroes, their aura commanding respect. The group turned heads as they walked through the academy grounds, their fame having grown significantly over the summer.

Dakota: "Phew. We're finally back at the academy."

He let out a sigh of relief. Despite the challenges of training, he missed the place—not for the lessons, but for the rare moments of peace he'd spent dozing off in class.

Henry: "Yeah, good to be back. We're third-years now, right? Finally seniors."

Ava: "Yep, third-years. One more step closer to graduation. Can't wait."

Lucas: "Oh, same here. I already have my sights on a guild I want to join."

Liam: "Yeah, me too. Got my eye on one."

Jack: "Same here. Found a guild that's perfect for me."

Amelia: "Well, I don't have to worry about that. Got plenty of offers already."

Mia: "Lucky you. I've got a few offers, but not as many as you."

Luna: "I don't care about offers. I just want a rich guild—money solves everything."

Everyone shared their plans eagerly—except for Dakota.

Dakota: "Join a guild, huh? Nah, I'm not planning on it."

The room fell silent. Everyone turned to Dakota in disbelief.

Henry: "Wait, what? Are you serious, Captain? How are you gonna make money without joining a guild?"

Ava: "Yeah, are you stupid or something?"

Lucas: "Guilds give you resources, connections, and strength. You need those, Captain."

Dakota: "Yeah, yeah, I know all that. Still, I'm not interested. And stop calling me Captain."

When the group officially formed over the summer, they unanimously made Dakota the captain, much to his dismay. In the original novel, Henry was supposed to lead, but Dakota unintentionally kept stealing the spotlight.

Liam: "No way. You're our captain. That's what we're calling you."

Dakota: "C'mon, you can just call me Dakota."

Mia: "Nope. You're the Captain, and that's final."

Dakota sighed, defeated.

---

The first day back at the academy flew by quickly. Just as the group thought they'd get some rest, Principal Edward summoned them to his office.

Dakota: "A mission? On our first day back? Seriously, Principal Edward?"

Edward: "Yes. This mission is important, so get to it."

Dakota: "Come on, we've been doing missions all summer. Can't we catch a break for one day?"

Edward: "Nope. Off you go."

Dakota muttered something under his breath, narrowly avoiding a direct insult, before accepting the mission.

---

The mission took them to the Dark Forest, where they were tasked with eliminating a group of high-ranked Djinns.

Dakota: "Flame Breath."

He unleashed a torrent of fire, scorching the Djinns but leaving them alive.

Henry: "Flame Phoenix!"

A fiery phoenix erupted from Henry's hand, piercing through the Djinns and igniting their insides. The creatures screamed in agony.

Lucas: "Let's cool you off, shall we?"

Lucas froze the Djinns' bodies from the inside out, killing them instantly. The rest of the group hadn't even gotten a chance to attack.

Dakota: "Well, that was easy, huh?"

Ava: "Easy for you three. You didn't even give us a chance to fight."

Liam: "Yeah, man. I was gonna one-shot them. You stole my moment."

Jack: "Same here. I had the perfect move lined up."

Dakota: "Hey, what matters is that the Djinns are dead, right?"

Ava: "You just wanted to finish quickly so you could get back to the academy, didn't you—"

Before she could finish, a dark mage appeared out of nowhere.

Dakota: "! What the hell is a dark mage doing here? What do you want?"

The group immediately drew their weapons, prepared for a fight.

Dark Mage: "Relax. I'm just here to deliver a message—specifically for you, Dakota."

Dakota: "For me? Spit it out."

The dark mage smirked.

Dark Mage: "We've kidnapped your sister. She's in our hands, along with more high-ranked Djinns and powerful dark mages. So, Dakota, are you coming to save her?"

Dakota's blood ran cold. For a moment, his mind blanked. He wasn't worried about defeating them—he could handle any threat. What terrified him was what they might do to his sister.

Dakota: "You dared to kidnap my sister? I'll find you, rip your throats out, and burn every last one of you alive!"

His voice was a low, dangerous growl, veins bulging on his face and neck. His fury was palpable.

Dark Mage: "I'd love to see you try. She's in the mansion where Ava was last kidnapped. Come if you dare."

Dakota: "Stay there. My flames will be the last thing you see."

As the dark mage disappeared, Dakota turned to his group, his eyes burning with rage.

Dakota: "Gear up. We're going now."

The group nodded, their usual banter replaced with grim determination.

---

In that moment, Dakota realized something troubling. The dark mage's actions weren't part of the original storyline. They had been far more active and brazen than they should've been, as if the future he once knew had shifted. But he couldn't dwell on it now—his sister's life was at stake, and he wasn't about to let her down.

For Dakota, this was personal. And nothing—not Djinns, dark mages, or fate itself—was going to stop him.

Ava: "Dakota are you sure that you Wana do this without calling for help, like we should call you're parent's."

Dakota: "nope, we don't know what they're doing to my sister now, we should hurry up and save her. My parent's will understand, and we are strong enough to save her we do not need help".

Dakota said with an angry and commending tone, since Dakota was the captain, the group couldn't refuse his order.

Henry: "well since you said so captain, then let's do this, let's save you're sister."

The group decide to save Dakota's sister without any help.

But would they regret this decision or not? Well i guess we will see, if they will regret their decision on not calling for help or not.
