Chapter 571: Pentos
Elliot stared at the people in front of him. They looked at him with worry. The boy stepped back as he shook his head in disbelief.
"What does all of these mean?" Elliot muttered. "Is this all a joke?"
Tears rolled down his cheek. He couldn't control his emotions as it flooded him, overwhelming everything that he felt. "What is going on, here? Why are you all here? Why is this happening?"
"Elliot..." Melissa kneeled in front of him. "What's wrong, child? Why are you crying?"
As Elliot continued to sob, he felt the sound of the city stop along with the wind blowing from his back and the birds chirping from the forest. He looked up to see the world around him pause but was also tinted with a dark red hue.
Frederick walked towards him and lowered himself to match Elliot's gaze. "Then I assume you have been reminded of this time. I'll start this sealed memory inside your mind and it can only be unlocked once you've been reminded of the past."
"Elliot!" Melissa suddenly grabbed Elliot and wrapped her arms around him. "I know how you missed me so much, my child. If you have reached here, I am so proud of you. You've become very powerful, my dear child."
"Powerful? What?" Elliot was dumbfounded. He watched as the men behind her grin and chuckle. "I couldn't even match Sariel. He's way more powerful than me."
"Sariel is your enemy, huh?" Francoise sighed. "He's probably the weakest Angel, but I don't know how he is now in your time. But I know his weakness."
"Old man Francoise," Elliot called out. "That moment when you pulled me and say that I have a very special metal in me. That was planned, wasn't it? The guild, I be that was also planned. But why? Who are you?"
Francoise sighed. "Let me introduce ourselves to you, Elliot of the future. My name is Francoise and I am the guild master of Pentos. We're an organized five-member guild that aims to become the most powerful guild in the world while being a group with mixed races.
"I am a dragon. Although I lost my dragon form in exchange for extremely powerful magic. Luck here is from another Realm and so is Frederick. We're a collective," Francoise continued. We became a powerful group, but we have been disbanded ever since your father was killed."
Melissa looked down. "Elliot, let me tell you a tale of someone very important."
Elliot intently listened to what his mother told him. It was about a man from Heaven who sought to have a great adventure. He met friends, made enemies, and lived an exciting life. But it ended because of betrayal.
--
A young boy with dark brown hair was lying under a tree, sleeping. It was a calm and peaceful afternoon when he suddenly felt a powerful presence appear near him.
The boy jumped on both his legs, grabbing his swords in the process. He raised his weapons in anticipation, silently waiting for the enemy to come closer.
Not a second later, a sword was pointed at his neck. His eyes widened as he saw a boy his age stood in front of him, skin pale as paper and hair white as snow. They exchanged glances, the brunette's dark green eyes meeting the deep blue eyes of the other boy.
"Are you a human?" the pale boy asked. "Is this Terra? Why did you have such killing intent?"
The brunette dropped his weapons, shocked. "An angel?"
"I am Reginald!" the white-haired boy grinned. "I am from Heaven and I escaped because I didnt want to rule after my father."
"Rule..." the boy gulped. "What?"
"What is your name?" Reginald asked. "I believe I already told you mine."
"Spencer," the brunette muttered. "And I am Terran. And you're an Angel?"
"I am," Reginald grinned. "I am on the quest to find the greatest adventure. I'm actually trying to recruit people, but It don't know how to do so."
"Certainly not by suddenly appearing in front of them and drawing your sword on their throats!" Spencer growled. "You're glad I was shocked by your appearance. If not, I would have killed you."
Reginald was grinning. "I highly doubt that though. My powers are far superior to yours and I could have easily annihilated you without even you knowing."
"Tsk," Spencer rolled his eyes. "That's just because your race is supposed to be better than mine. If we were both of the same race, I would've obliterated you."
"Doubt again." Reginald laughed. "Currently, I am in my Terran form. I could only retain a bit more than half of my actual powers. I'm currently trying to master hiding my presence."
"You're kidding me, right," Spencer took a step back. "Only half? But you're already so powerful."
Reginald laughed. "Only because I have a secret."
It was the start of their journey. Along the way, they met people from different Realms. All of them had no other goal in their lives than to have the greatest adventure that they could have. They didn't interest in gold, fame, or power. The boys just wanted to have fun.
"I wanna stay here."
Reginald suddenly said to his group. He was with Francoise, Frederick, and Luck as they gathered around a table. "Spencer has to take care of his sick mother. I don't want to leave him."
The door to the room opened and Spencer walked inside. "You don't have to do that, Reg. I don't want to hinder your adventure."
"Staying here for a while sounds fun, actually," Francoise spoke. "Terrans are fun and this realm is actually the biggest, so there's still a lot to explore."
"That settles it, then. Our leader has spoken!" Reginald cheered. "We'll stay here for while and then decide what to do later on."
"We need to form a guild so we can take advantage of a lot of benefits," Spencer suggested. "What do you think we should call it?"
"Lion Flare!" Luck suggested.
"Crimson Caramel," Frederick thought. "Or Red Barrage."
"You're just going to name them after you?" Francoise smirked. "How about, Five Kings?"
"After the Five Kings? No." Spencer chuckled. "What do you think, Reg?"
Reginald was silent. He was looking into space intently, seemingly deeply focused in thought. The others watched him as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Super Cool Greatest Five?" Reginald gasped. "Oh, god. It even sounds amazing!"
"No!" the rest of the group yelled. It was followed by the collective laughter of the five men in the room. They were strong, but they were still just simple men inside after all.
"How about Pentos?" Spencer suggested. "There's five of us and it means highest power in our ancient script. It sounds good, don't you think?"
Before anyone could react, a powerful burst of energy exploded nearby. It was followed by a group of screams and cries for help.
"It seems like we have our first job," Francoise smirked. "We'll take care of this as our first guild's mission."
"Does this mean that you're our guild master now, old man?" Reginald chuckled. "That should have added at least ten years in you, looks wise."
"This brat!"
