Chapter 561: Angels Are Not Always Good
Angels. For the longest time, Ed and Hope admired them with different perceptions. They always thought that the beings above everything are the beings that has the most good in their hearts, the ones that were filled with love and hope.
But the being right in front of them right now was the complete opposite of what they thought. Hansel was indeed a man made up of glowing white energy, but he harbored resentment and anger. His killing intent reeked the entire area and his dark and pungent aura was forcing its way to their bodies.
"This is terrible," Hope said. "I think we made him mad."
"You think?" Ed snorted. "We made him angry. Now he will do everything he can to kill us."
"Then let's kill him first." Hope tapped his sword with his shield and smirked. "We just go straight to him and get even stronger."
"Yeah." Ed shook his head in amusement. "Let's do that."
–
"It seemed like Hansel released his true powers," Gretel said in amusement. "I think it doesn't really apply here because I don't think the two of you are worth the effort."
Strong and Glory stood in front of her, both laughing at her statement. She was clearly underestimating them and she didn't feel any fear of what they could do.
"We're both Vassals too," Strong said. "We might not be the strongest, but we both are still Vassals."
"True," Glory agreed. "We don't think anyone could be as strong as you or Hansel, Trick, or Bruno but there are two of us and only one of you. I think we have a fair chance of defeating you."
"You don't." Gretel said with a dark tone. She looked up and sighed. "Because I don't think I'm going to get serious while fighting you two. It's not worth the time."
"Not worth the time, huh?" Strong laughed. "I think you misunderstood your situation here, young lady. Glory and I are known to be the most humble Vassals. Were not just strong, but we care about pride and ego. We just fight."
"Then, I guess..." Gretel looked down. "I think I'll get serious."
Her skin peeled, revealing her true form just like what Hansel did. The wings grew on her back and she was laughing as she spun and created a larger blood orb, this time, it wrapped the vines that Glory created too. She was afraid of her attacks and was confident about defeating the two Vassals.
She raised her hands and attached herself on one part of the orb. "I am here and only here."
Strong and Glory looked at each other before dodging the countless blades that spurted out of the blood floor. They gulped when they realized that Gretel's control over the blood orb has increased and their synchrony had gotten so much better.
"Yet I am also everywhere." Gretel moved the blood around them and created several attacks at the two. She was controlling the blood with swift movements that the two were starting to get closely hit by the attacks.
"This is madness," Glory said. "Forest Eye!"
She summoned an eye that was made of leaves and vines right in front of her. The eye had a handle as if it was a hand mirror and Glory was using it to predict the movement of the blood so she could avoid them.
Meanwhile, Strong released a powerful best wave from his body so the bloody would evaporate when they come contact with his skin. He pierced his sword into the floor and let the blood strike him.
"Annoying." Gretel said. "Blood Stain."
The blood orb shook and reformed into a cylindrical container. It was now a tower without any windows or doors, but the attacks were still happening. The two Vassals could easily avoid the attacks, but they knew that they can't do that forever. They have to find a way to attack Gretel.
"Poison Vines!" Glory cast and summoned smaller vines from the large vines she created earlier. The vines had thorns on them and pods of flowers were attached to the vines. When it reached near Gretel, the woman sighed and summoned a blood dome that protected her.
"Explode!" Glory yelled and the flowers on her vines bloomed before exploding. She caused a huge damage on the blood tower that she was able to destroy the area where Gretel was attached to.
"That was a petty attempt of an attack," Gretel said as she revealed herself unscathed. "I don't think you know the power scale my true form has given me."
Glory stepped back. "Impossible."
"It is possible," Gretel said. "Your attack was too weak that it barely tickled me. You have to give me stronger attacks next time, Glory. I don't even think that your attack was worthy of being a Vassal. It was so pathetic and weak that—"
"It made your blood boil?" Strong interrupted.
Gretel narrowed her eyes at him and then her eyes widened. She looked around and saw steam coming out of the blood tower. "What? Why is this happening?"
Strong laughed and detached his sword from the floor, revealing the burning tip of his sword that he pierced through the tower. The heat that he produced was sent throughout the tower, making the blood slowly evaporate.
With a proud smirk, Strong slammed his sword back into the floor, further accelerating the evaporation of the blood tower. "You don't have much power when you lose this tower. You have already taken too much blood from your body, you can't make another one."
Gretel was screaming. In an attempt to fight back and stop Strong, she controlled the blood around her to attack the two. She was furious and was panicking, in fear for her life.
"No!" Gretel screamed. "I cannot have this as my last day! No!"
She was attacking the two Vassals, but her attacks got weaker and weaker. Glory conjured a sword and blocked the attacks with her own and without her vines to see if she can do it, and she could. She was able to successfully blocked the attacks.
"Wow, this is interesting." Glory launched herself from the ground and dashed toward Gretel. Strong saw a smirk on Gretel's lips and immediately screamed to stop Glory.
"No, she's planning something!"
It was too late. Gretel conjured large blood hands and wrapped it around Glory. The woman was trapped in the hands and had no way to be free. The hands were starting to boil and Glory felt the heat on her skin.
"I'm not the only one who will fall here," Gretel declared. "I'll take you along with me. Our journey will be fun in the afterlife."
"As if." Glory rolled her eyes. She grunted and morphed into her smaller form. "I don't want to go anywhere with you."
It was just in time for the blood tower to be completely evaporated and Gretel dropped to the ground with a thud. Strong and Glory walked towards her with smirks on their faces.
"This is not the end." Gretel said. "I am an Angel and I will not let myself get killed like this!"
She flapped her wings and distanced herself from the two. Gretel sighed and conjured a sword in her hand. "I won't die so easily."
