I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 533: Book of Records

Elliot followed Katarina to an alley. The woman walked right at the end of the alley and turned to a brick all where she passed through as if nothing was there.

"Wait," Elliot ran towards her. He paused right in front of the wall, looking around and senses that there was nothing special about this wall. He couldn't sense any magic surrounding it.

Katarina's head popped out of the wall, "Come in, Mr. Elliot. They're waiting for you."

Elliot followed Katarina behind the wall where a dark tunnel was. They walked straight until they reached end, a small library where Jameson was sitting in front of a fireplace.

"You're finally here," Jameson smiled and hugged Elliot. "We just have to wait for her for a couple of minutes. She should be done by now."

Elliot didn't know what was going on. Nobody told him anything. Katarina made him follow her and now Jameson was here. And who was the person that they are waiting for, what does she need from them?

A couple of minutes passed by and the door right beside the tunnel opened. Lady Hao walked inside with he twins trailing behind her.

"Ah, now that you are here, let us start with the real deal," Lady Hao said. Xin and Yin brought chairs for them to sit on as well as a wooden table that they placed in the middle.

Elliot was amazed by their strength as they lifted everything with ease. The twins were Lady Hao's loyal servants and they are capable of doing just about anything.

"What is going on, Lady Hao?" Elliot asked. "I thought that you are going to talk to Lance?"

"I did talk to him," Lady Hao said. "But that's not all the reason why I came here."

"It's not?" Elliot asked. "Then what is?"

"The Books of Records," Lady Hao immediately replied. "The Book of the Beginning, Middle, and End were located in the East long before the Great Western Voyage where they forcibly took it and then passed on to generations."

"What?" Elliot gasped. "I thought the Five Kings were the first Easterners who reached West?"

"The Five Kings are a fairly young story in the records," Lady Hao chuckled. "They even belong to The Book of the Middle, your book because they are more recent than the ones before them."

"Then what are before them?" Elliot asked.

Long ago, the three Books of Records were forged from a fallen star. The star contained properties of accurate prediction, so the people sought for these predictions and wrote them in three books.

But fate was cruel, and humans were much more cruel. The wars that emerged after the books were written led to them being split into different holders. All three were sent to the West after ships and armies attacked the East and took everything.

This was shortly after the One Sun's disappearance and it wasn't a known fact because the books were written in a smaller, much remote kingdom compared to the bigger ones. These people were from an ancient race that was thought to be lost.

They are called Gahons and they possess magical properties in everything they own. They used the remains of the star to forge the books and embedded magic in every page and every lettet that was written on each page.

Since they are an ancient and one of a kind race, that was the reason why the book had a language that barely anyone understands. It was from an ancient country that was wiped out from the map. Their language was included in that.

Those who could read the texts were eithet descendants of the fallen country or Seers who can see the past. But even they could not interpret everything in the books and could only find out small details about what would happen. Nothing was set in stone.

"So, what does that have to do anything with us?" Elliot asked. "I have the books with me. Do you want me to hand it to you?"

"Have you read it?" Lady Hao asked Elliot. Since he couldn't read anything on the books, Elliot shook his head.

"Well, I happen to have this." Lady Hao placed the third and final Book of Record, the Book of the End. "All the contents of the previous books can be interpreted by this one. It is the most powerful book out of all three, yet it is the scariest."

Lady Hao sighed and opened the book. "Elliot, the Book of the End starts with your battle against Uriel. This can only mean that–"

"The world is ending," Elliot whispered. "If the book really started out like that, then everything ending."

"I can't tell you about things that hasn't happened yet, but for the things that had happened, I can tell you everything," Lady Hao said.

Her words made Elliot's ear ring like a bell. He immediately turned to her and gulped. He pulled out The Book of the Middle from his Inventory and placed it on the table.

"I have to sidetrack us for a bit, but I want to know what exactly happened on he Azure Palace twenty years ago. When Pentos and a band of Adventurers stormed the Palace. I know that there is something that I am missing. I just don't know what," Elliot said with determined eyes.

Lady Hao nodded. "Fine. Let me tell you about what the book says."

Back at their guild house, Lance just arrive and was looking for Elliot. Lady Hao told him about what he should do in order to prepare for Uriel's attack, but it wasn't the thing that he expected.

What Lady Hao told him were just standard procedures in battles. The timing, position, and even the plans of evacuation. Lance wanted suspect anything, but he had no reason to. He trusts his grandmother.

A few minutes into his search, he felt a strong presence looming around the building. He immediately brandished his swords and gulped.

Something was definitely hiding. And that something is powerful. Very powerful.
