Chapter 524: Arrival of the Thunder
"That was a disarming technique that's used by a lot of beasts, especially dungeon bosses," Frederick said. "You don't have a lot of experiences with dungeons and Conquests, so it wouldn't be familiar to you."
"But the scale of the attack is incredible," Luck muttered. "Usually, disarmament only affects three to four people at most. This guy just disarmed an entire area."
The Azure King raised its amputated limb and a black shadow erupted from the wound. The shadow connected both ends, pulling the severed limb from the ground and reattached it to the limb.
There were tiny shadows that weaved both ends together, sealing the metal skin of the Azure King together so it would look like nothing happened at all.
"Hyperregeneration," Frederick scoffed. "So, that's why our attacks seem useless. It can regenerate before we could even see the damage we dealt."
"Then how are we going to defeat this?" Elliot said in horror. "Can we even do it?"
Out of nowhere, a giant lightning bolt was fired from the skies. It struck at the Azure King and continued to pour like a waterfall.
"Why are you down, children?" Zeus's voice echoed from the skies. He started to laugh loudly, sounding like Santa Claus as he rode his chariot from the clouds.
There was another person in the chariot to which not a lot of the people down below recognized. She was a woman whose eyes were white as she pointed her palms at the lightning bolt, her lips chanting spells that were unfamiliar to them.
On her hands was a pale white mist that had small firefly-like lights floating around. As Yvonne continued to chant, the mist continued to flow out of her.
"The Maiden of Continuity has arrived," Frederick smirked. "Now this is getting exciting."
"Maiden of Continuity?" Elliot asked. "Who is that person?"
"Yvonne Solaguer," Lance replied. "She's one of the original nobles in Solaguer before the capital was moved. The cities' names were never changed for some reason, and the Solaguer blood slowly died out. Yvonne is the few of the remaining ones."
Elliot watched the woman chant as the chariot surrounded the huge lightning bolt. It came to his attention that Yvonne was the one causing the lightning to pour while she chanted.
She has the ability to produce a continuation of a magic after it was cast. Like the lightning bolt of Zeus. Usually, it would only strike once, but with Yvonne's help, the lightning poured instead.
Looking at the Azure King, it was now kneeling on the ground. It seemed like the power of the attack was overwhelming it and it was now giving up.
"Death awaits for those who defy the darkness," the Azure King spoke and suddenly, the lightning stopped.
Yvonne's eyes returned to normal while her brows knit together in confusion. "What happened?"
"It disarmed you," Zeus said simply. He landed his chariot on the ground so they can regroup and plan out an attack.
"The aura of this beast is terrifying," Yvonne noted. "How will we be able to handle this?"
"With you, of course," Zeus laughed. "But I didn't know that it can disarm, so you're basically useless now."
Yvonne watched the old man in disbelief. She managed to scoff and roll her eyes. "Then may I go now? I still want to live and you practically dragged me into this."
"Spirit of the Wolverine!"
Gasha sprung from the ground and punched the Azure King right in the face. Everyone was shocked at the sight as she managed to deal several more blows before she leaped her way out of the Azure King's range.
From the hole that Gasha had just come out of, James slowly crawled his way out.
"What were you thinking?" he cried. "I thought you would lead me to a much better place, but this is the worst place we could've entered."
The Azure King raised its sword and swung it at James. Elliot gasped but then the sword just passed through the man as he continued to crawl. This confused everyone, especially the Azure King.
It watched its sword, seemingly inspecting it before he swung it again. Once again, the sword just passed through James.
"Phasing magic," Frederick smirked. "That man is filled with tricks."
James pouted and turned to slap his palm at the ground. "You're so annoying and scary."
The ground below the Azure King flashed a yellow light before it changed its properties. The ground became viscous and the King was slowly falling inside it.
"He can alter the properties of his body as well as the space that he touched," Frederick said. "The trickiest Guardian among them all."
"Oh, you give me too much praise," James muttered. He finally got to where they were, but he insisted on sitting on the ground.
Alice arrived not long after, running towards them with Aquarius's group trailing behind her.
"Freddie, I assume you have a plan? Because you always have a plan," Zeus asked.
"I do," Frederick said. "What we need to do is take all of its attention, but not at once."

Following the direction of the red-haired guild master, the group divided themselves into three. Each group had a role to play and they were all crucial so they could win this.
Aquarius, Minos, Galaxia, Ethan, and George were the first ones to attack. They fired their attacks at the Azure King, making sure to bring out their all so it would activate the disarmament again.
"Aqua Splash!"
"Lightning Storm!"
"Shattered Starlight!"
"Saw of the Wind!"
"Striking Glory!"
The Azure King screeched, disarming everyone around it. Right after it did, Alice deactivated her shield that protected the other groups from the attack, and they all immediately fired.
"This is the war against the strongest King," Frederick yelled. "We will win this."
As they continued to battle the giant beast, a shadow had swallowed the now unconscious Death. His body was delivered just outside the Palace grounds where a small forest was at.
A woman stood right in front of Death. She sighed before taking Death up and carrying him on her back. "Poor you. I didn't think they were powerful enough to defeat the strongest of us."
