Chapter 512: Raid of the Azure Palace (1)
The preparations to raid the Azure Palace were perhaps the hardest thing they would do so far.
It has been revealed that the Azure King wields the Excalibur, a weapon that can destroy kingdoms in a single swing. This was a threat that was bigger than Death, a high-ranking soldier of the Forsaken.
"So this is why Death hasn't attacked the Azure Palace," Elliot thought out loud. "He doesn't have the necessary power to defeat the Azure King."
"His magic perception is top-notch too. Let us not ignore that fact," Irus said. "Even before, Madam Locraine doesn't know that the Azure King possesses such a weapon. Not one single Adventurer that comes near the Azure Palace knew of that."
This made Elliot wonder if Pentos knew of this information or do they at least know why the Azure King stood out from the rest of the Kings.
"We know."
Everyone turned their heads in the direction of the voice. There stood the Holy Crow, Raven Justice, and Leonardo.
"We put on magical barriers to prevent the aura of the Azure King to leak out," the Holy Crow said. "This was put on a few hundred years ago. Its power is just too much for us to handle."
"That was why the Church of the Son of Heaven sacrificed three months of work in order to put that barrier there," the Raven Justice sighed. "The Holy Crow that was assigned to this task was also a Malleoulus, but his identity was heavily classified."
"He was a descendant of Arthur," Elliot whispered. "Was it because the Azure King holds possession of the Excalibur the reason why that Holy Crow sealed its power?"
"Yes," the Holy Crow said. "The magic he used was also from the Heavens. The ones who gave him that was an Angel, at least that's what the records state."
"The Angels?" Irus grit his teeth. "So, those fools have been meddling with other realms' affairs since long ago. What a shame."
"I believe so too," the Holy Crow sighed. "They actually bring the Church more harm than good. I am the one who was able to clean up the mess that they created using the other Holy Crows."
"You even almost used that skill," Mammon sighed. "They needed to be punished for what they are doing."
"But I haven't seen any Angel for over fifty years," the Holy Crow. "Based on our records, I was the last one to see one."
"So, they have been inactive for half a century," Leviathan hummed. "That's odd. Maybe that's also the reason why they stopped coming to us."
The Angels and the residents of the Abyss, which includes Hell, are often in wars with each other. The Angels would try to take over the Abyss, but the demons would often fight back.
When things would go downhill for the winged beings, they would pull out the pity card and pretend like the demons attacked them.
This has been happening for thousands of years until fifty years ago when Angels stopped showing themselves.
Some speculated that they got a new ruler which wanted them to live in peace. Some think that they are extinct after all the wars that they fought. Some think that the Angels are just resting for an all-out war that they will start against all the other realms.
Whatever the reason may be, one thing was for sure. There hasn't been a single Angel in so long.
"Elliot, what do you think?" Leviathan asked. "Irus trusts you so much that I think your opinion is valid here."
"I-I don't know," Elliot said. "What are we talking about."
"I said that if I release the seal that we put on the Azure King, the chances of winning against it will increase by twenty percent," the Holy Crow said. "But this also means that his aura will reach the entire kingdom, which includes Death."
"And why would he weaken if we remove the seal?" Elliot asked.
The Holy Crow pursed his lips. "You weren't really listening. It won't get weakened, but its powers will be released and will roam away. This would prevent it to suck in the magic that is floating around the seal."
"Then, let's do it," Elliot said. "But not immediately."
Elliot had a plan in mind, and he thinks that his plan would be their best approach to this problem.
"Alright," Elliot smirked. "The first thing we need to do is clear the ones that are in the way…"

"Infernal Ring of Flames."
"Supreme Dragon's Raging Claw."
"Eternal Chaos Malicious Slash."
…
A series of magical attacks rained on the barren lands of the Azure Palace. It was right outside where the Phantoms would roam that Elliot's team attacked.
When the coast was clear and most of the Phantoms were killed, the group entered the palace and left Aquarius and Minos outside. Ethan and George were there too, the cleanup team that would also prevent the Phantoms from backing up the attack inside.
"It has been a while since I showed off," Ethan smirked to which George nodded to.
"These are still Phantoms," Aquarius reminded. "Don't be too careless."
"Taunt of the Wild," George raised his ax and released an aura that would attract the Phantoms. "Try if you can make me feel good."
"He's still not over that phase?" Minos chuckled. "What a masochist."
"Agree," Aquarius and Ethan nodded with a regrettable sigh.
While they were too busy taking care of the Phantoms, the larger group entered the courtyard. The Guards and Archers were in position as they approached.
A few steps forward and the sky was filled with blazing arrows. The archers were firing continuously and mercilessly at them. There were about one hundred archers and half would fire and the other half would follow, taking turns to create the endless rain of arrows.
"This is nothing," Frederick sighed. He closed his hands and then open them, conjuring flames on each of his hands and wiped it in the air like it was some kind of a rug.
The flames on his hand would trail in the air. This made him look like he was painting in the air, creating art that absorbed all the arrows that were fired at them.
"This is too easy," Frederick smirked.
