Chapter 499: You're Alive?
When Aquarius didn't get an answer, he created a spear made of water and raised it to point at Clan's neck. "What the hell is happening?"
"I did die," Clan said. "But–"
Aquarius slightly cut Clan's neck, shaking his head when he saw that it was bleeding. "A Double Alpha Strike was detected in the Beach City, Nefantine. A giant dragon loomed over the city. Several dragons came and the giant dragon was killed. Clan, you were that dragon.
"I've read the reports, I have seen the records. You died," Aquarius continued. "Who really are you?"
"You don't know the rules of the realms," Clan said. He used his bare hands to lower the spear from his neck. "There are certain rules that apply when a race dies from another realm."
"Rules?" Aquarius narrowed his eyes. "How come I have never heard of such rule?"
"That's because it doesn't happen often and there has been little to no study behind it," Clan replied. "But essentially, when a different race dies in a different realm, this rule would be activated. The Death of the Fallen as they call it. This rule basically means that you cannot be killed with hostility when you're in another realm.
"If such events happen, Soul Collectors that live through the tiny cracks in space and time would collect your soul and rebuild it in your realm," Clan said. "And when the time comes that your body is rebuilt, you get revived."
"The Soul Collectors took time because you were in your dragon form, right?" Aquarius deduced. "Now this is familiar. The Soul Collectors were said to be tamed by Platt, Zeus's necromancer colleague. I thought he was joking about these creatures."
"If an average human dies, the Soul Collectors would take approximately four days to rebuild their bodies," Clan explained. "But since I was a giant dragon, they took their time for me."
"We have to let Frederick know," Minos turned to Aquarius.
This made Clan narrow his eyes. "Why would you tell Frederick about this?"
"No," Aquarius said. "He meant Hope. Minos mix names a lot of times. Don't worry about it."
"But where is my nephew?" Clan looked around. "And why is this place like this?"
"Behemoths," Aquarius replied. "Higher classification of demons that could destroy kingdoms if they will it. They are–"
"I knew it."
The three of them turned their heads to see Mammon standing behind them. The demon crossed his arms and was growling at them. "What are you doing here and how did you kill the Kingsguard?"
"Stay away," Minos raised his giant sword. "We don't want a fight here."
"As if you stand a chance against me," Mammon grinned and suddenly spoke without any sound. "Run, now."
He created beams of flames and fired it in front of him. The flames swallowed Aquarius, Minos, and Clan but it didn't hurt them. Instead, the flames felt warm and they used this time to escape just like Mammon instructed.
"Pulverized into nothingness," Death grinned as he walked into the room. "You really know how to please me, Mammon. Let's go."
"Why are we back here, anyway?" Mammon groaned. "I really hate it here."
Suddenly, he was slammed into the wall with Death's eyes bulging out of their sockets in anger. "Your pathetic magic is nothing to me. You think I didn't notice their presence exiting the room?"
"W-What?" Mammon's eyes widened.
Death sighed and pushed Mammon's head deeper into the wall. There was a crater that was created from the force of the throw, and now another one was formed because of how hard Death was pushing.
"I'm only letting you live because you're the Forsaken's son. When he comes soon, I'll let him be the judge," Death said. "If I ever catch you helping them again, you'll be killed by none other than me."
"Stop that," Leviathan growled when he saw his brother being pushed into a wall. "Whatever we do, you have no rights to tell us. We're the children of the Forsaken, you're just a knight. Know your place."
Death chuckled. "Alright."
He covered his arm with a bright reddish black aura and hit Leviathan in the stomach with it. The demon's eyes widen when he felt the force of the punch right in his guts.
"W-What?" Leviathan coughed as his body was flying away and crashing into a wall. "How dare you?!"
"I no longer serve him," Death said. "I now serve myself. Kneel before me."
Death threw one more punch on Mammon's stomach before he walked towards Leviathan and slammed the latter's head on the ground. "I'm your king now. Kneel before me."
"Darken," Leviathan casted. He suddenly vanished from plain sight, which made Death narrow his eyes. With another cast of the skill, Mammon's fainted body also vanished, leaving Death alone.
"You're a coward!" Death yelled. "If I ever get to see you, I will kill you myself."
Leviathan did not care to listen anymore. He ran away while carrying Mammon on his back and went to his brothers to tell them everything.
"They don't want us to reach their level," Irus said. "Leviathan, let's go now. Now that Death has shown his true colors, we can reunitr with the Terrans and defeat him before he swallows more Palaces."
"Why are you running?" Death yelled. He was flying in the air while laughing as he approached the group of demons. "Come here and show me the power of Behemoths. Us Guards have more power than you will ever get."
"He's talking gibberish," Saitan groaned. "Good thing I talk the same."
Saitan stood in front of his brothers and formed a giant shield made of dark green liquid. When Death reached the shield, the impact from his attack crashed wih the shield and created a strong force that was able to knock away all the others.
"What is this?" Mammon gasped. "Saitan, since when have you been able to block a Guard's attack?"
"Actually, Daniel brought me the blood and soul of the Mages," Saitan said. "When they were attacked, he chased down the Mages and killed every single one of them, but left one to the side while he consumed the rest."
"And now you have extra powers?" Irus scoffed. "Now that's just unfair."
Saitan laughed. He offered his hand facing down and waited for the others to put their hands above his. "Come here. I still have plenty in me."
The rest of the demons placed their hands above Saitan's hand and received the power given to them by the latter. "Now, we're done. You can gain different boosts from these. I haven't actually seen anything like it before."
"Then I'll be the first one to try it," Mammon yelled. He slammed his hands to the ground and created a giant eye that expanded across the city of Solaguer. "Solemn Assembly."
The eye blinked three times and people felt lightheaded. There were white lines that was sucked from them and it led to the eye.
"I can't believe there are still quite a lot of people here," mammon's said. "Two hundred. This city used to have thousands."
"I can't blame them. But I do have something for you," Mammon sighed. "Torn Starlight!"
