Derrick didn't like the fact that he was doing what the Leader wanted.
He knew he had to break out of it.
But in the face of what it meant to have the genotoxin, Derrick had to oblige.
Sherry then walked to the front of the room and said, "For the rest of us, we need to go to the Canyon, to stop someone called Igor."
She had retrieved the information from the Dark Lord's mind and knew that Igor was on his way to do something to the portal.
A map appeared on the projection screen, and she started briefing everyone in the room.
The Canyon was far out to the west from where they were in the desert.
And they had to go there on planes, drop deep inside the Canyon before Igor could force the portal to open even more, allowing Transcendent Tiered demonic beasts in.
Lukas paid attention and prepared himself for the crucial battle.
This time, the rewards were even more generous than before.
A total of 20 million for everyone involved if they succeeded.
A reasonable reward considering that if they weren't successful, they would most likely perish under the Transcendent Tiered demonic beasts.
Soldiers came in with essentials and equipment for everyone.
Lukas stocked up with whatever he could.
They were then ushered out of the base to the airbase.
Derrick came along but he was isolated from everyone else this time.
His work with the genotoxin was crucial to the success of mankind.

"Number four, you've done well," Igor said to the centipede-like demonic beast.
It was lying on the ground, with its body strewn all over the surroundings.
Several demonic beasts came up from behind Igor and their shadows covered everything.
Igor took out four more capsules from his backpack and waited.
As the shadows became larger as they loomed closer to Igor, Igor turned around and hurled the four capsules at whatever it was that came from his back.
There were huge demonic beasts twice as tall as Igor was, with a head that was like a fox, and the body was like an ape.
Skin drooped and hung from the limbs of the demonic beasts.
Boom.
The four capsules exploded in the air, giving out a bright amber flash.
Those foxlike demonic beasts gave out a high-pitched cry and covered their eyes with their hands.
Out from the explosions, four demonic beasts under the control of Igor appeared.
One was a lump of slimy liquid, and it splashed onto the face of the foxlike demonic beast.
It covered the foxlike demonic beast's head and suffocated it from the air.
The other foxlike demonic beast standing beside it tried to help but was hit by something coming out from the explosion.
It was a huge reptile-like demonic beast with its mouth emitting poisonous slew of saliva.
The other two capsules had two bear-like demonic beasts.
Their bodies were covered in horrifying blood instead of black or brown fur.
They lunged at the foxlike demonic beasts and pawed down at them with their front paws.
The blood when it came into contact with the foxlike demonic beasts, burnt through their skins.
Igor didn't stay around to look, and he continued towards his destination in the distance.

Lukas looked out from the cockpit and saw the red sky as what Derrick had said when they got closer to the Canyon.
He could also see that the Canyon was huge and deep.
Bump.
The airplane suddenly jerked upwards, as if going into a turbulence.
Everyone in the airplane except for Lukas, had to try and hold onto something to keep their balance.
Lukas with his Gravity ability was able to float or keep himself on the ground relatively easily.
"I can't go any nearer," the pilot said after the airplane had stabilized.
Lukas nodded and the pilot began to make the airplane descend.
The other airplanes were suffering from the same thing, and they had to descend from where they were too.
When the airplane came low enough, the back of the airplane opened.
Lukas and his teammates walked out from the back.
"The usual?" Riley asked and the others nodded their heads.
Lukas took the lead with Harianto beside him.
In the middle were Emma and Margaret.
Right behind them were Riley and Rex.
And next to Riley's team, it was Terry with his teammates.
Behind them were soldiers in mecha units and those who were awakened.
There wasn't much time for fancy planning this time and their objective was to go as fast as possible to catch up with Igor.
"Let's move." Lukas spoke into his earbuds, and they started to advance as fast as they could.
Under the scorching red sun, sweat quickly drenched their clothes and armor.
But as they ran, the sweat was quickly dried by the hot wind blowing in the Canyon.
As they ran, Lukas smelt something in the air, and he raised his hand.
Everyone behind him stopped.
Thud.
A piece of rock fell from above onto the ground, giving out a muted thud.
Lukas glanced up and saw that there were demonic beasts staring at them from above.
They looked like jackals, but their fur was in a bright red color.
Whoosh.
Without any warning, these jackal-like demonic beasts lunged at Lukas and the others on one side and Terry and his teammates on the other.
Splatter.
One of the jackal-like demonic beasts was grabbed by something and smashed onto the ground.
It was Lukas with his Shadow Wielder ability.
The jackal-like demonic beasts turned their attention to Lukas.
Blood spurted out from the bodies of these demonic beasts at him.
But Lukas disappeared at the very next moment, and the blood spattered onto the ground.
Crack.
One of the jackal-like demonic beasts gave out a loud crack as its bones were ripped through by Lukas's fist.
Lukas went on to deal with the other jackal-like demonic beasts.
As he got near to two of them, he drew out his plasma katanas and swiped them down at them.
Slice.
Immediately, the two jackal-like demonic beasts were sliced into halves.
