Giuseppe didn't know why Kain was smirking when Kain was a few moments away from being decapitated by his ability.
He ignored the doubts in his mind and tried to unleash his ability onto Kain's neck to sever Kain's head.
"Argh."
Sand that was from Kain's hands had moved onto Giuseppe's head.
The sand started to get into Giuseppe's mouth and nose, making him unable to breathe.
As more sand got into his mouth, Giuseppe's natural response kicked in, and he gagged from the sand.
Kain raised his arms and started bashing down at Giuseppe.
Thud.
With every blow, Giuseppe's face got swollen bit by bit.
Parts of the skin and flesh were also ripped off from Kain's blows.
Blood started pooling on the ground beneath Giuseppe.

Splash.
General Arthur's body splashed out in all directions when Olivia's purple glowing chain emitted a bright flash of purple glow, latching onto his body.
It had started to suck up the energy from General Arthur, and he had to get away from it.
Olivia cursed when she saw that General Arthur was not sprawled on the ground.
Frustrated, she swung her purple glowing chains at the puddle of metallic liquid in front of her.
Thud.
Her purple glowing chains hit the ground, creating a small crater.
However, the puddle of metallic liquid had moved and advanced towards her.
The other puddles of metallic liquid also did the same and encircled Olivia.
Thud.
Suddenly, the puddles of metallic liquid darted onto the body and face of Olivia.
And once they latched onto her body and face, the puddles of metallic liquid started to solidify.
After the metallic liquid had hardened, it started to tighten, strangling Olivia slowly.
It seemed that the tide had turned, and victory was near.
The mecha units that had completed changing their depleted demonic beast cores joined in the battle.
Their demonic beast cores started to glow when they got ready to unleash their attacks at Giuseppe and Olivia.
However, they weren't able to do so.
The Dark Lord finally made his move.
Boom.
A shimmer of darkness came at the mecha units.
And once the shimmer of darkness went past the mecha units, they started to erupt in fire and smoke.
The soldiers in the mecha units frantically pressed the emergency eject button to get out of the mecha unit.
But they were surprised when they saw their blood spurt out onto the control panel in front of them.
The Dark Lord turned and lunged at Kain next.
Boom.
Kain felt a tremendous force come at him from the side, but it was too fast for him to react.
The Dark Lord's attack landed and Kain tumbled across the ground.
Before Kain could get up, the Dark Lord raised his hands and unleashed a dark glow at Kain.
Kain tried to make use of his form to dodge away from the dark glow but couldn't.
The dark glow had touched his feet.
Immediately, Kain felt his ability going away and his sand form was gone, turning back into his normal human form.
The Dark Lord then pulled back the dark glow, ripping out a yellow glow from Kain's body.
To Kain's horror, when he tried to use his ability again now that the dark glow was gone, he couldn't.
A horrific realization came to him.
The yellow glow was the ability within him, and it was now ripped out from his body by the Dark Lord.
The Dark Lord didn't waste any time, and he lunged at Kain.
Splash.
He lost his footing before he could do so, and he was submerged into the ground the next moment.
Kevin had used his ability to do so.
A huge boulder appeared in the air, and it came down at the Dark Lord.
Boom.
The Dark Lord was calm unlike the others, with his body submerged in the ground.
He looked up and punched at the huge boulder, blowing it into smithereens.
"Die!"
Kevin came at the Dark Lord, giving a kick at the Dark Lord's head.
The Dark Lord submerged himself fully into the ground, dodging the kick.
When the Dark Lord appeared out from the ground again, a dark glow darted onto Kevin's leg.
Plop.
The rock armor covering Kevin's body immediately dropped to the ground.
Finally, with a pull by the Dark Lord, the dark glow ripped out a yellow glow from Kevin's body.
Splash.
The Dark Lord got out from the ground, and he lunged at General Arthur next.
This time, it was much easier for him.
General Arthur, who was in the process of trying to strangle Olivia, was hit by the Dark Lord's dark glow immediately.
And when the Dark Lord pulled the dark glow back, it ripped out a metallic glow from General Arthur.
"Argh!" General Arthur turned back into human form, but he was in many pieces, and he dropped to the ground.
He twitched for a few moments before lying motionless, with trails of his blood created from his final moments of struggling.
When the soldiers saw what had happened, they didn't know what to do next.
Their best of the best were now dead or had their abilities ripped out of them.
Bang!
Unlike the soldiers, Kevin didn't care about his ability being ripped out from him.
He had picked up a rifle and opened fire at the Dark Lord.
Kain saw what Kevin was doing, and he joined in.
It was for their teammates.
Clank.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough.
Purple glowing chains wrapped around the body of the Dark Lord.
Olivia smirked and she unleashed her purple glowing chains towards Kevin and Kain.
Crack.
An ice wall rose from the ground, blocking the purple glowing chains.
The purple glowing chains penetrated the ice wall but could only get through half of it.
Olivia glanced to the back and saw some more awakened.
It was Lukas and the others.
They had arrived and saw the carnage that the Dark Lord and his subordinates had caused.
Their hearts sank when they saw the body of someone familiar to them, Astrid.
"Lukas, be careful," Kevin shouted, trying to warn Lukas about how powerful the Dark Lord, Giuseppe, and Olivia were.
Lukas nodded and he lunged at Olivia.
