I Just Want A Single Ending!

Chapter 154: I Only Want a Single Ending [154]

After enjoying Nagasaki Soyo's massage for a few moments, Kamigawa Saku politely stopped her.

His reasoning was that since she was still recovering, he didn't want her to wear herself out.

"Actually, I'm mostly recovered now. Besides, it's not like a little shoulder massage is hard work."

Soyo could clearly feel that her condition was nearly back to normal.

"Even so, it's better to be cautious."

Kamigawa's tone was firm, and he promptly stood up.

"Anyway, enough about that. I'll go make us dinner."

"Let me cook, please," Soyo protested, hoping to regain her place in the kitchen.

Now that she was feeling better, she didn't want to keep relying on him.

After all, she was his older sister figure.

"Until the end of today, don't even think about it. The one recovering from an illness should just rest," he replied without a hint of leniency.

"…Okay."

Soyo wanted to say more, but when he continued into the kitchen, she could only accept it.

Since he was so insistent, she might as well enjoy it for a bit longer.

With that, Soyo turned her gaze to the TV, now dark and silent.

She'd initially hoped they could make up for yesterday by watching a movie together today.

But she'd fallen asleep again.

How frustrating.

Then again, in a way, this wasn't so bad.

Thinking about how it felt to sleep against him, a slight smile lifted Soyo's lips.

It felt almost like… like they were a couple.

---

After dinner, Kamigawa Saku made sure she took her medicine, kept her company through a movie, and reminded her to sleep early before he left her place and returned to his own.

Busy day, huh…

Leaning casually on his sofa, Saku pulled up his schedule for the following week.

He had a meeting with Togawa Sakiko tomorrow, was scheduled to act as Ikuyo Kita's "boyfriend" in front of her former classmates on Saturday, not to mention the band practices, and he still needed to visit some other groups.

And that wasn't even counting his regular "explore the city" gigs and meetings with advertisers. His entire week was packed.

This was, perhaps, the price of choosing the single-player route.

Time was in short supply.

Just then, a notification popped up.

Saku opened it and saw it was a message from Nyamu.

Nyamu: Good evening!

Nyamu: By the way, any recommendations for a drum set?

Nyamu: I've decided to seriously start learning the drums.

After reading her messages, Saku remembered the situation.

Last time they'd met, Nyamu had mentioned her interest in drums.

So, she'd finally made up her mind to start.

It made sense for her to ask him. In her eyes, he was part of the band scene, so he'd know a lot about it.

However, the truth was… he didn't know the first thing about drums.

Kamigawa Saku: Sorry, I'm not very familiar with drums, so I'm not much help there.

Lying in bed, Nyamu couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment when she read his message.

Then again, a band manager didn't necessarily need to know much about the instruments themselves.

As long as he could keep the band popular, he was good at his job.

Nyamu: It's alright. I'm the one who bothered you.

Kamigawa Saku: But I do know a few drummers. If you'd like, I could introduce you to some.

Besides some minor players, he knew two prominent drummers who were potential connections: the lovely Nijika Ijichi and Shiina Taki.

Nyamu: No, that's okay. It feels a bit much to trouble strangers over something so small.

She'd really only asked to have a chance to talk to Saku, to find some common ground with him.

Chatting with random drummers? That wasn't the goal at all.

Unless they were famous band members, she'd rather not waste her time.

With the internet being so extensive, she could easily find drum recommendations online.

It wasn't like she really needed his advice.

Without the intention of chatting, she wouldn't have pretended to know nothing.

Kamigawa Saku: True, I understand.

Even though a kind person like Nijika wouldn't mind such a request, Saku didn't want to impose without her consent.

As for Taki, he knew it was best to be cautious.

Nyamu: I'll do some research online and find the right one myself.

Though the conversation didn't last as long as she'd hoped, at least they'd chatted.

She could consider it a win, more or less.

Kamigawa Saku: Actually, I'm looking to buy a new bass soon. I just started learning bass myself.

After a moment's hesitation, he sent the message.

He was looking to buy a bass for his lessons with Hiroi Kikuri, aiming for the same model as Yahata Umiri's.

But his recent schedule had been too busy to make time for shopping, so he'd put it off until now.

His message was a subtle way of hinting that they could go shopping together.

If she wasn't interested, she could ignore the hint and simply offer some encouragement like, "Keep it up!" or "Good luck with your studies."

But if she wanted to join him, she could take the opportunity and suggest a trip to the music store together.

By leaving the decision up to her, he avoided making it seem like he was desperate for her company.

After all, he didn't want to come across that way.

At least this approach would let him gauge her interest, and if she declined, it wouldn't be awkward.

Is he inviting me on a date? This kid sure is something…

Nyamu chuckled at his message.

Even if he had way more followers online, she was still several years older than him.

He was just starting his first year of high school, while she was already in college.

The age gap between them was significant.

To him, she could practically be an older sister.

Calling him "little guy" wouldn't be that far off.

No, wait—calling him that would just make her sound old.

She'd go with "little bro." It sounded warmer, and a bit more intimate.

Nyamu: Well, isn't that perfect? We could go to the music store together.

She wouldn't let a golden opportunity like this slip away, so she naturally accepted.

As a college student, handling a high schooler like him was a piece of cake.
