Chapter 153: I Only Want a Single Ending [153]
Saku: Mm.
With that reply, their chat came to a close.
Closing the chat screen, Kamigawa glanced at Nagasaki Soyo, who was still sleeping soundly, leaning on his shoulder.
He'd already felt something was off about his role in this whole situation, and now… it felt even stranger.
Chatting with Togawa Sakiko, the person Soyo seemed to care about the most, while Soyo herself was fast asleep on his shoulder, left him feeling a bit surreal.
But at least she was still asleep, so he didn't have to worry about her noticing anything.
Once their conversation ended, Togawa Sakiko let out a sigh.
Now, all she had to do was wait until tomorrow's meeting to get everything cleared up.
For now, though, she needed to focus on her work.
She couldn't let these matters interfere with her responsibilities.
Yet, only a short while after returning to her tasks, Sakiko started feeling guilty.
It really was way too easy, wasn't it?
It made her feel unworthy of such a high salary.
But she couldn't just quit either—she'd already left her previous customer service job.
"Ideally, we'd agree to lower my ad share tomorrow… One or two percent would be more reasonable," she thought.
Sakiko couldn't help but keep thinking about tomorrow.
Of course, she could also accept performance-based ad revenue.
For example, if her involvement really boosted video views, follower counts, and attracted high-paying sponsors, then getting an extra share would make sense.
But if the metrics were lacking, she'd gladly give up her share altogether.
Ultimately, all she could do now was hope tomorrow arrived quickly.

Before long, evening came.
"Ugh…"
Nagasaki Soyo blinked awake, still groggy.
She'd had a dream—a dream where she fell asleep on Kamigawa Saku's shoulder.
Knowing it was just a dream, she hadn't worried about things like dignity and had slept deeply.
Just as she was about to sit up, she realized something was off.
"Wait… huh?!"
This wasn't her room—she was in the living room.
She could tell from the surroundings alone.
Where… am I?
Turning her head slightly, she saw Kamigawa Saku's shoulder.
The next second, all her memories came rushing back.
She'd agreed to watch a movie with him, but she'd been so tired that she'd fallen asleep without realizing it.
So, the question was simple.
It wasn't a dream—she had actually slept on Kamigawa Saku's shoulder.
"Good evening. You're awake?"
Kamigawa, noticing her stir, greeted her with a gentle smile.
"G-Good evening…"
Realizing what had happened, Soyo quickly straightened up, her face flushing red.
What was this?
Why had she done something so embarrassing?
This felt even more mortifying than when he'd fed her and told her a story to help her sleep the night before!
No, she couldn't just rank these incidents. Each one was humiliating in its own way!
"Still sleepy?"
Seeing her flustered reaction, Kamigawa couldn't help but tease her.
"…No, I'm not sleepy."
Soyo felt completely stripped of her usual poise and just wanted to hide.
She didn't think she could look him in the face anymore.
"Just so you know, I did tell you to have breakfast and take a nap afterward. So, you can't blame me for this," Kamigawa said, half-smiling.
"I'm sorry…"
Soyo apologized for being so stubborn that morning.
The more she thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt.
Then, suddenly, she thought of something and quickly turned to him.
"What's up?" Kamigawa asked, noticing her sudden shift.
"Did… Did I sleep on your shoulder the entire day?"
Even though she knew the answer, Soyo wanted to confirm it herself.
"Of course." Kamigawa held up his phone, showing her the time. "It's almost evening now."
"I'm sorry, and… thank you."
Soyo apologized for her actions, then thanked him.
"No need for an apology, but I'll gladly accept the thanks."
Kamigawa didn't think she'd done anything wrong.
Sure, she was a bit stubborn, but it was nothing serious.
"…You could've woken me up and told me to go to bed properly instead of sitting here all day," Soyo said, glancing at his shoulder, which she'd leaned on for hours.
Was he being… too nice to her, letting her sleep on him all day like that?
"Wake you up from a deep sleep just to tell you to go sleep somewhere else?" Kamigawa shrugged, speaking honestly. "I couldn't do something that heartless."
That was his only reason for bearing through it.
"You could've… carried me to my room…"
She tried to argue back out of habit, but her voice trailed off, turning to a soft mumble by the end.
"What was that?" Kamigawa hadn't caught her words.
"N-Nothing," she replied quickly, acting like she hadn't said a thing.
If she admitted it, wouldn't that mean she was admitting she'd wanted him to carry her like a princess?
And asking him herself just sounded… way too weird.
Looking straight at Kamigawa Saku, who was sitting beside her, Soyo had so much she wanted to say.
But those feelings piled up in her heart, unsure where to begin.
All those thoughts condensed into one simple sentence.
"Thank you for putting up with me."
She had no idea how he'd managed to endure it.
Letting her sleep on his shoulder all day meant he'd stayed completely still, keeping the same position the entire time.
Just so he wouldn't have to wake her up, he'd decided to stick it out.
Kamigawa Saku really was incredibly kind.
"It wasn't too bad."
Kamigawa's voice was still calm, as if it were no big deal.
"Let me massage your shoulder," Soyo offered.
She wanted to repay him however she could.
Saying this, she stood up, intending to move behind him.
"There's no need. I'm perfectly fine. My body's in great shape; I'm not going to get stiff over something like this."
It was confidence granted by the system.
"Please, let me do this," Soyo insisted.
She moved behind him and started gently massaging his shoulders.
"Alright, then."
Kamigawa didn't refuse.
After all, he'd let her sleep on him all day, so a little payback was fair.
Thank you.
Soyo silently expressed her gratitude once more.
Wasn't she supposed to be the one taking care of him?
Why was it always him looking after her?
This was way too strange!
