I Have Great Voyage Game

Chapter 18

Bone Spell

After the Bone Sorcerer died, Roger struck two more blows.

It didn’t mean anything; he just didn’t like this Old Six.

This Bone Sorcerer was really sinister, summoning a bunch of invincible skeletal monsters to attack him while sneaking in the basement himself.

If it weren’t for his equipment leading the way for him, he might still be fooling around with bones in the village.

Relieved!

After taking down this Bone Sorcerer, Roger felt refreshed.

Then he rubbed his hands and began the eagerly anticipated search for loot.

[You found Bone Spirit Staff × 1.]

[You found Dead Soul Black Robe × 1.]

[You found Amethyst Ring × 1.]

What a haul!

Roger’s eyes lit up.

This Bone Sorcerer was indeed the hidden hand that ambushed him.

After finding it directly and exposing its treasures, Roger was rewarded with a heap of high-quality equipment, far superior to what was in the wooden treasure chest earlier.

After finding the new equipment, Roger didn’t immediately check the item information but instead looked around the basement once again, searching for more.

The basement was quite large, and it appeared that the Bone Sorcerer had turned it into his lair.

After an extensive search, Roger discovered some more items.

[You found two Potions with unknown effects.]

[You found a Gold Coin × 1, Silver Coins × 23.]

[You found Black Bread × 1.]

[You found a Rock Earthworm × 1.]

[You found Beer…]

Apart from two bottles of Potions, everything else was miscellaneous items like materials.

Roger, with a mindset of not leaving any stone unturned, collected them with a mindset of “a small gain is also a gain.” Then he looked elsewhere once more.

Yes, he was not giving up. He didn’t believe that this Old Six, the Bone Sorcerer, had so little treasure. There had to be more hidden!

So, Roger started rummaging through everything, checking every nook and cranny, not missing a single compartment or hidden compartment.

In this relentless search, Roger made a new discovery.

With a click, a small bone skull ornament triggered a mechanism under Roger’s touch.

The wall in front of him rotated, revealing a pitch-black box.

In the box were two old, yellowed books.

[Due to your accumulated Mysticism knowledge, you can roughly determine the names of these two books.]

[You found Bone Spell × 1.]

[You found The Book of Bone Feeding × 1.]

Roger’s eyes brightened, and he quickly stashed them away.

I knew this Old Six was hiding something good.

Roger was elated.

After searching the underground to the best of his abilities, Roger confirmed that there was indeed nothing else here.

Back on the surface, the group of skeletal monsters from earlier had turned into a pile of bones, no longer the ferocious creatures they were.

After a brief look around the village, Roger quickly found the entrance to the second floor marked by the system.

It was the same well as before.

Once he found the entrance to the second floor, Roger did not choose to continue exploring.

Today’s harvest was substantial, and he had taken some damage during the auto-battle. He needed to rest and recuperate first.

Most importantly, it was getting close to nightfall on Roger’s side.

Exploring the cave consumed a lot of time.

Roger took out the Gentle Breeze Cave Key and chose to return to the original location.

When the screen lit up again, he had reappeared on the small island where he started.

Back on the boat, Roger began to tally up his loot for the day.

[Bone Spirit Staff]
[Type: Weapon | Transcendent]
[Quality: Blue]
[Attack Power: 3/10 (Physical/Magic)]
[Requirements: Spirit 9, Faith 3]
[Special Effect: When using this staff as a medium for casting bone-related spells, the user will gain additional bonuses.]
[Negative Effect: After using the staff, the user will be affected by the erosion of bone-related spells.]
[Description: The staff of the Bone Sorcerer, no one knows how it was made, but it certainly wasn’t a pleasant process.]

[Dead Soul Black Robe]
[Type: Equipment | Transcendent]
[Quality: Blue]
[Defense Power: 3/8 (Physical/Magic)]
[Requirements: Spirit 5]

[Special Effect: When the owner wears this equipment, their vitality will be suppressed.]
[Negative Effect: After the owner wears this equipment, their emotional fluctuations will decrease.]
[Description: Wear the black robe and exude elegance!]

[Amethyst Ring]
[Type: Accessory | Transcendent]
[Quality: Green]
[Requirements: Spirit 5]
[Special Effect: Increases maximum spirit by 1.]
[Description: A ring crafted with special crystals, wearing it brings a refreshing feeling.]

Roger then checks the attributes of these three equipment pieces. They all seem to have good effects. The Bone Spirit Staff is particularly intriguing, as it could be useful if Roger hasn’t found the other two books yet. It seems that Roger has the potential to become a powerful mage. Roger is quite satisfied with the effects of the Dead Soul Black Robe. Although its special effect may not have a significant impact, the corresponding negative effect is almost negligible. Additionally, the black robe looks much better than what Roger is currently wearing. As for the Amethyst Ring, Roger believes it is the best item. Although its effect may not be strong, it has no side effects and simply provides a boost when worn.

Next are the two books:

[Bone Spell]
[Type: Book]
[Requirements: Spirit 10, Faith 3, Linguistics lv5 or Mysticism lv3]
[Effect: After reading and studying this book, there is a chance to master the skills “Bone Stripping” and “Bone Technique”.]

[Book of Bone]
[Type: Book]
[Requirements: Spirit 11, Linguistics lv5 or Mysticism lv3]
[Effect: After reading and studying this book, there is a chance to master the skills “Bone Spirit Feeding” and “Bone Manipulation”.]

Good news, Roger has found two skill books. The bad news is that he doesn’t meet the requirements… The attribute values are easy for Roger to fulfill since he has some unallocated attribute points. The key is the skill requirements listed in the “Requirements” section. Although Roger could allocate points to the necessary skills, it would cost him at least two attribute points. This makes Roger hesitant and conflicted. He wonders if it’s worth investing two points in Mysticism just to learn these two skills… After much deliberation, Roger finally decides to learn the skills. However, before doing so, he saves his progress. Then, with determination, he allocates two points to the Mysticism skill.

[Mysticism lv1→Mysticism lv3.]

[You have gained a significant amount of knowledge in Mysticism, and the doors to the Transcendent world have opened for you.]

Then, Roger allocated one point to Spirit and one point to Body using the remaining two free attribute points, and then put on the Amethyst Ring.

Instantly, his Spirit value soared to 11 points.

“Now I can focus on developing myself as a melee mage.”

Roger was filled with determination, and then took out the skill book to start reading.

[After reading the information related to the skills, you have made some progress in learning.]

[“Bone Stripping” current progress 1/200.]

[“Bone Technique” current progress 1/200.]

“…”

Roger felt speechless.

Why does this skill have a learning progress bar, and why does it have to double?

This left Roger feeling a bit frustrated.

It seems like it will take some time to become a mage.
