Chapter 111: This boy has crazy speed!
Lin sighed, and his relaxed body slowly began to fade, gradually returning him to his normal state. He slowly turned toward the arena and looked at the scenes taking place there while he had been distracted by the two "brothers."
The scenes inside the arena were quite chaotic: everywhere prisoners were fighting, ready to kill anyone to survive; blood, darkness, and organs — were all over the place, but no one cared about them, since everyone was concerned only with the fight, not with the remains of their victims.
But what slightly surprised Lin was that the unusual individuals he had seen earlier — still hadn't made any moves. They continued to stand calmly, as if waiting for the perfect moment to attack.
Another thing Lin noticed was that no one was trying to attack them.
He assumed that perhaps it was because the danger posed by these people was on the highest level, and no one wanted to test their strength on themselves.
That would explain everything.
Lin frowned as he looked at the unusual people and thought:
"The strength of these people might be on my level or even higher… It's just unclear who among them is more dangerous than the others, as each of them looks quite unique..." Lin looked at each one and understood that their appearance might resonate strongly with their power.
Suddenly, Lin heard an announcement made by the man with the Soul Shard pillow:
"It is reported that only fifteen people remain in the arena! In ten minutes of battle, five people have been killed! I ask all those who haven't taken action yet — act now! If by the end of the battle you haven't made at least two kills — you will die yourself!"
After his announcement, the entire arena erupted in loud voices. The spectators were thrilled by this announcement, as they had been waiting a long time for the arena's strongest fighters to finally take action!
"Wind Elder, just use your magic and kill everyone here!"
"Fire Faris, show these people your two-meter sword!"
"Void! Don't just stand there! You still need to kill one more person!"
The arena was filled with people begging the prisoners to start acting and killing each other!
"The Magic World truly is brutal," Lin looked at the stands and saw countless savage gazes from people who desired only bloodshed and spectacle.
He shook his head and thought:
"If in Ilan's battles, the audience consisted only of lunatics, and the battles themselves were carefully hidden from everyone. Here, it's completely different: the Arena of Blood stands in the heart of the Unified Capital, and anyone with enough money can come here and witness an entirely different world..."
"And at the same time, it's not considered wrong, because the world itself is soaked in blood and battles. Everyone in this world tries to survive in different ways, but it all leads to one effect — to battle or war."
Lin remembered all the modern technologies and images, but then the increasing number of battles with Distorted creatures in the Magic World and on Earth.
"The battles are getting more frequent... Even though I don't know what the world was like before the Distortion. But according to the records: — it was relatively safe, where the only problems were obesity and physical inactivity… All that is fading, as the influence of the Distortion grows, and promising Awakened individuals — are becoming fewer."
Lin sighed and realized the truth.
The world is dying.
At the moment, humanity is still able to fight against the Distortion. But each year, some part of Earth still ends up in their hands. And the number of people who are supposed to fight against this — is decreasing.
Earth is becoming more unsafe, while the Dead Worlds seem like a more promising place for further survival, since Distorted Gates do not appear there.
In any case, this was a relatively distant problem for Lin.
He had his own goals that he was obliged to fulfill.
"Even if the world dies — let it die. But let me accomplish my goal first," Lin looked at the arena and saw that a small boy had started to act.
He smiled slightly and began to closely observe the boy's every move, as he sensed significant danger from him, comparable to the other strong individuals here.
"Hey, look! The Little Beast has started to act!" someone from the stands shouted, which helped Lin understand the boy's name.
"Little Beast? Looking at his "claws", it's quite a fitting nickname."
Feeling even more anticipation, Lin watched the Little Beast's actions.
He first walked like a drunk: in different directions with crooked movements, until he suddenly raised his head to the side and listened. His face remained hidden behind his long black hair, but by his movements, Lin could tell that he was trying to better hear his prey.
Suddenly, the Little Beast looked at one of the prisoners who was closest to him. His movements were sharp and jerky, like some wild animals.
Lin frowned and sensed a "smile" from the Little Beast. Although it wasn't clear due to his long black hair — whether he smiled or not.
In any case, it was clear that the prisoner who had become the Little Beast's target was in trouble.
The boy got down on all fours like some animal and ran at the prisoner with a sword!
Whoosh!
Although the prisoner was several dozen meters away from the Little Beast, the latter reached his target in just a few seconds and attacked!
Clang!
The Little Beast raised his hand and attacked the man with the sword, thus creating a clash and starting the fight!
"Little bastard..." the man with the sword looked at the Little Beast and used his strength to push down on the boy!
But suddenly, the Little Beast vanished from his spot and appeared behind the man, beginning to attack using his hands!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The Little Beast used both his hands and delivered over sixty different cuts across the man's back in just a few seconds!
It was insane speed!
The Little Beast smiled through his cast-iron mask and suddenly jumped up, making another slash across the man's neck!
Whoosh!
Blood sprayed in all directions, and the man's head quickly fell to the side.
The man was dead, and the Little Beast had won.
The arena fell silent.
Lin was also surprised.
"This..." he frowned and gripped his blade tighter, continuing: "is incredible... Especially his speed. It's slightly higher than mine, but because his body is smaller than mine. His agility... it's extremely high."
Suddenly, the entire arena again erupted with various shouts and laughter, the spectators clearly enjoyed the Little Beast!
Pleased with his actions, the Little Beast suddenly looked at Lin.
Lin looked at him as well.
Their eyes met.
"Looks like my second battle begins here," Lin took a stance and was ready to receive the attack.
The Little Beast wasn't going to hesitate and attacked!
The second battle had begun!
