Chapter 87: [88] The Mission! (Begging For Daily Tickets)
Over the next few minutes, other highly-ranked students began arriving and were greeted with similar reactions from the crowd. Students ranked ninth, eighth, seventh, and so on made their entrances, each one causing whispers from the crowds about their achievements, techniques, and family backgrounds.
But the reaction when the number one ranked Elite Class student finally entered was on an entirely different level.
It was a young man who was so handsome he could be considered beautiful. His skin was pale that it was alsmot see through and his long silver hair fell past his shoulders.
But what truly caught everyone's attention was the manifestation of astra energy with every steps he took.
As the first ranked student moved, the temperature in the environment started to drop drastically!
Levi could actually see frost forming on the ground where the young man's feet touched,
Behind him, the ground had frozen solid with ice flakes snowing around him.
"That's Aldric Frostborne, the absolute monster of our class," someone suddenly spoke.
"It's rumored he possesses an A-rank Frost Lion King Astra Soul, but that's not all. It's said that he possess a bloodline that is in the top 2000 in the bloodline codex, the Glacier Alpha Tiger. The combination of matching Astra Soul and bloodline has made him incredibly powerful."
"I heard his Ice Control skill has actually reached the Supernatural realm," another student added.
"At Level One Supernatural, he can freeze everything that moves within a hundred-meter radius solid. Even Fiend Warriors have to be careful around him."
Levi glanced at Aldric for a few seconds before retracting his gaze. It was unknown what he was thinking at this moment.
Suddenly Levi felt killing intent locked in on him like an invincible mountain.
Levi's eyes swept across the gathered students until he locked in on a young man at the forefront.
It was an handsome young man. The students was staring at him with intense fury that made Levi's face frown.
He didn't think he had offended this guy and from what he had heard about this guy, he was ranked somewhere in the 70's in the leaderboard.
The young man's hands were clenched tightly and his jaws also hitting with anger.
Moreover, the youth appeared to be at the 7th level of Genetic Warrior realm based on what Levi could sense.
Just when Levi was wondering how he had offended the youth; he suddenly saw Morgana standing beside the angry youth, her hand resting possessively on his arm as she whispered something in his ear while shooting glances in Levi's direction.
Levi shifted his gaze to the youth and then smirked and then looked away as though he was nothing.
The youth's face flushed even darker with rage, but he didn't dare to do anything rash at this moment.
At that instant, a massive aircraft slowly arrived before the youths.
The airplane was at least fifty meters long. It looked more like a fighter jet rather than an airplane.
The aircraft came to a stop directly in front of the assembled students, and a ramp extended smoothly from its side.
A middle-aged instructor came out and walked down the ramp.
"This is an impromptu combat examination," the instructor suddenly spoke.
"All students immediately board this aircraft and your mission objectives will be briefed during flight. Now, move!"
The students stood frozen for a few seconds, stunned by this completely unexpected development, before they immediately rushed into the aircraft in groups.
Levi also followed them swiftly as he found a seat near the window and then strapped himself to the seat belt.
Luna squeaked softly in his pocket as she brought her head out to see what was happening.
As the last students boarded and found seats, the instructor came out from the pilot seat and stood before all 200 plus students.
"Don't worry about communication, we've scrambled your devices immediately after we sent emergency message. This is a security measure to ensure that any dark cultivators who might have infiltrated the academy can't warn their allies about our incoming assault."
The students formed when they realized it was true and they glanced at each other suspiciously afraid their might be traitors amongst them.
"Now, regarding the mission objectives and rewards, your primary objective is simple: locate and eliminate as many dark cultivators as possible. "
"Intelligence suggests there are approximately 300 to 500 dark cultivators currently residing in the target zone, ranging from Level 1 Genetic Soldier level up to Level 9 Fiend Warrior."
The students were instantly shocked. There were actually peak level Fiend warriors in the hidden base. It seems they would have to be cautious. The highest rank amongst them is just a Level 3 Fiendwarrior. As a Level 3, it was almost impossible for one to breach such a gap as level 3 and level 9 was alsmot as large as the distance of heaven to earth. Not to mention just 2 level difference but there was a 6 level difference. It was as though the academy was sending them to their deaths.
The Instructor didn't care about this and spoke.
"To verify your kills and track your contribution to this operation, you must collect proof by cutting off the left ear of every dark cultivator you kill and store it in your spatial ring or a collection bag. When the operation concludes, these ears will be counted and converted into points."
"These points will be added to your existing academy records and can be exchanged for resources, techniques, or Chaos Points," the instructor explained. "Additionally, the top three students with the highest number of confirmed kills will receive special rewards directly from the Dean. The rewards are meant to be secret therefore I won't reveal much but one should expect a Tier III relic amongst them."
The cabin erupted into excited murmurs at those announcements. An audience with the Dean was an opportunity most students would never receive during their entire time at the academy, and as for Tier III relics, they are almost impossible to find and not even a rich family's wealth could purchase a Tier III relic!
For noble families, Tier III relics are considered the ultimate heirloom!
These were rewards worth fighting for, worth taking serious risks to obtain.
