Chapter 91: Mythical-Quality, Dylan and Viena's Decision
Ainen used the third ticket after putting away the Tier-5 Legendary Lightning Fulmin Flower into his Inventory.
A pouch appeared, and Ainen checked the reward.
It was a Tier-5 Legendary-quality weapon — a staff that could boost Wood, Water, and Earth-attributed skills.
'Nice.'
Ainen put it away, not thinking about using it as a weapon but instead as an ingredient later.
Fourth ticket.
Ainen checked the pouch and saw a large chunk of exotic metal — a Tier-6, Legendary-rank material.
And it was a lot, since the chunk was the size of a sedan car.
After moving it into his Inventory, Ainen used the fifth ticket.
A pouch appeared, and he checked inside. 'What the…'
[Artifact: Jazzel Bell]
Rank: Tier-7 / Mythical
Effect:
—> Upon using the bell, all people bearing ill will toward you within a one-kilometer radius will be stunned. Their visibility will drop to zero, and their senses will be disabled for three to five seconds, while you gain invisibility from all senses for ten seconds. This will only work on Emperor-rank or below lifeforms. Once used, it requires a one-hour cooldown before it can be used again.
'So there is a Mythical quality!' Ainen blinked. 'Damn, this artifact is quite powerful, no?'
'…It is crazy powerful,' Lord Black was speechless. 'Well, it's good that you got it, given your upcoming adventures.'
'Good for us.' Ainen put the artifact away in his Inventory and proceeded to use the last ticket.
A pouch appeared, and he checked inside.
It was a scroll — a skill scroll.
[Dragon Tiger Blazing Dance]
Rank: S+
Attributes: Fire, Wind.
Effect:
—> Conjures a dragon and a tiger around you that can be launched to attack targets at your command.
'Oh, a trash skill. I'll sell it, I guess.'
Lord Black smiled wryly. 'Compared to your skills, it's indeed trash, but there are people who would kill to get this skill scroll.'
'Then they'd better hope they don't run into me.' Ainen put away the skill scroll, and his eyes began getting heavy. It had been several days since he'd slept, as he had only rested once during the ten-day training in the Tower.
Soon, he fell asleep.
Ainen woke up at six in the evening after six hours of sleep, feeling fully refreshed and recovered.
"Ainen, we already collected meat and herbs for you."
"When will you cook again, boss?"
Ainen laughed. "Soon. I just woke up, so I'll get freshened up first."
"Viena and Dylan exited the Labyrinth while you were sleeping, Ainen."
"Here they are."
Dylan and Viena arrived upon hearing the commotion and knew Ainen had woken up.
"Sup." Ainen smiled. "Let's talk in the café."
Next to the café, not too far away, Ron and Syl were training and playing with Saffa, Clovelle, and Fraisea — but they were about to reach their limit soon.
Lilian and Yelvina were sitting nearby, watching everything peacefully as everyone went about their tasks.
"Sit here for a bit. I'll make food for Ron and Syl since they'll go to sleep soon."
"Alright."
After ten minutes, Ainen came out of the kitchen and saw Ron and Syl already sitting at the table, tired enough to sleep but not without eating their brother's food.
"Here's food~ Eat up."
After serving them, Ainen sat at the table where Viena and Dylan were waiting.
Viena and Dylan looked pissed — their moods were utterly foul.
"Those pieces of trash ruined so many lives." Dylan's jaw clenched tightly. "Especially my Master's. I've informed Mistbound Magic Tower, and they'll be here in an hour or two."
Viena sighed as frustration and helplessness radiated from her. "Ainen, I heard Master Lilian and Lady Yelvina will stay with you?"
"Yes. Sacred Aurelian Magic Tower doesn't have the resources, manpower, or time to investigate the Cradle without solid leads." Ainen snorted. "And they don't even want to try to find a way to fix them. That Vice Tower Master said it's impossible unless we find the person who did this."
"But they don't want to find that person."
Ainen clenched his fist. "But I will."
"I heard you aren't joining Sacred Aurelian anymore. Is it because of that?" Viena asked.
"That and more. After this Labyrinth run, I think it's better for me not to join any organization." Ainen said. "But I would like to create one instead — and prepare myself against Cradle."
Dylan and Viena looked at each other before turning to Ainen again, their expressions somber.
"Ainen, we would like to join, but we can't — not yet." Dylan's eyes showed firm resolve. "In the near future, we'll be able to leave our Magic Towers after repaying them with contributions."
"When the time comes, can you add us to your organization?" Viena asked, her eyes filled with bubbling anger. "It may not be uncommon to lose comrades according to seniors in this world, but we lost all of ours at once. They may be used to it, but we're not."
"Ainen, if you're going to arm yourself against Cradle, we'll help you in any way we can." She looked at Ainen intently and continued, "You're far stronger than we are and will continue to grow, but we'll contribute to the best of our abilities."
Ainen smiled. "Sure. I'd also like to have more trustworthy people around me — people who can help me, and whom I can help in return. Once you're able to leave and join me, I'll make sure you get stronger."
"That said," Ainen continued, looking at Dylan, "we have some business to attend to in this kingdom."
Dylan's eyes glinted as he nodded. "Yes. But after freeing Lady Ruoin from captivity, what will you do?"
"I'll come with you to Mistbound Magic Tower and gather information about the so-called ongoing war of the Nightrift Clan, then head there." Ainen smiled. "I want Saffa, Clovelle, and Fraisea to reunite with their parents."
"You're really kind," Viena sighed, unsure whether to be impressed or worried.
"My enemies wouldn't agree with that, haha." Ainen chuckled. "I just don't want to rob them of the fortune of meeting their loving parents."
He had never even seen a photo of his own parents, but the void he'd felt as a child — watching other kids with theirs — was still fresh in his mind, even if he no longer cared about it.
