Chapter 40: People From Sacred Aurelian Magic Tower (2/2)
As the trio landed and approached the group, Duke Habort couldn't help but sweat.
'How strong is she?"
The middle-aged man was as strong as he and Princess Irnia, both of whom were Ascendant-rank powerhouses.
But that woman was higher and unfathomable, likely a Lord-rank powerhouse.
"We are from the Sacred Aurelian Magic Tower from the Sacred Aurelian Academy. I am the current librarian of the Magic Tower and vice head of the Combat Department in the academy, Lilian Magravine."
Duke Habort and others cupped their fists in greeting.
'Shit. She is that Lilian!?' Irnia's eyes shook. 'The one who took first rank contribution in Ripjaw Boneyard Labyrinth's clearing.'
Lilian nodded in response to their greeting. "We are here to meet someone. You must have seen a magical phenomenon here over an hour ago."
She looked at Princess Irnia and Duke Habort, who she perceived as the strongest in this town.
"We have seen it," Duke Habort replied without hesitation with a nod.
"Do you know who caused that phenomenon and where that person is?"
Princess Irnia, who hadn't seen the phenomenon, suddenly realized something, and her eyes trembled.
'Don't tell me…it was a fucking Arcane Blessing?! Did that chef get blessed by Arcane here?! Wait, but didn't Raol say he is an Awakened-rank…'
"I personally haven't seen him, but my minister here has."
Minister Raol cupped his fist and said, "He went on an adventure in the Dakuta forest after accepting a quest."
"In that case, describe his appearance to me. Not with words, but with your thoughts."
Right after she said that, Lilian's eyes flickered while a faint thread shot out of her finger and struck Minister Raol's head.
"So this is how he looks," Lilian muttered.
'W-what…did she just read my memory and active thought when I recalled Ainen's face?' Minister Raol was dumbfounded.
"Thanks for the cooperation. Here's a small token for the help."
Waving her hand, a pouch flew towards Duke Habort.
Duke Habort looked at the content inside, and his eyes couldn't help but tremble.
'A peak Tier-4 Epic Weapon, a peak Tier-4 Legendary Armor, and 100,000 mid-grade Mana stones?!'
The trio left after that, flying back to the ship before it departed, moving towards Dakuta Forest.
"Damn it!"
Suddenly, everyone heard Princess Irnia cursing and turned to her, only to see her frowning, her eyes looking as if she was thinking hard.
'Will it be too late now? But who is that mysterious chef? Is he from this kingdom? Even if it's late, I have to inform Mistbound Magic Tower. Absurd that an Awakened-rank got an Arcane Blessing. How is that even possible?'
Without wasting any more time, she took out a mysterious crystal from her storage ring and contacted someone.
Arcane Blessing was a big deal.
Not because the person would be blessed with otherworldly powers. Sure, the blessing would grant some kind of high-potential skill, talent, or something else to the person, but that wasn't the focus.
The focus was on the person who triggered the Arcane Blessing.
It meant that a person must have accomplished something in the realm of magic that delighted the ever-present arcane in the world and triggered a blessing.
Usually, only Lord-rank and above would trigger this. In some rare cases, some prodigious Ascendant-rank and Adept-rank had achieved it.
But to be triggered by an Awakened-rank young man? It was unheard of.
…
"Whew, that felt good."
Ainen landed on the ground after hunting down six deadly Twin-headed Blood Crystal Vultures, who were at the peak of Awakened-rank, with their group's leader being an Adept-rank, level 109!
"Brother, you were so awesome!"
"Right! So strong! I couldn't even see you properly."
"Yeah, you were like woosh! Zoom! A streak of flame shooting around." Ron excitedly said. "It was almost like lightning."
Ainen chuckled. "You two will become strong, too. I am thinking of cooking something to awaken your first skills. But for now, let's have some food. We've been hunting intensively for over an hour now."
"Okie!"
"Food time!"
Ainen entered the kitchen while looking at his stats.
He was feeling so much stronger!
Stats: 174
—> Vitality: Ⅰ 65 Ⅰ + 66 + 30%
—> Strength: Ⅰ 62 Ⅰ + 70 + 30%
—> Stamina: Ⅰ 68 Ⅰ + 64 + 30%
—> Agility: Ⅰ 69 Ⅰ + 58 + 30%
—> Cognition: Ⅰ 63 Ⅰ + 70 + 30%
—> Arcane: Ⅰ 72 Ⅰ + 62 + 30%
—> Mana: Ⅰ 75 Ⅰ + 80 + 30%
The extra stats, aside from the 30% bonus, were from the cocktail he drank. They were temporary. Of course, the cocktail gave a boost of 20 - 40 in each stat randomly, but whatever buff they gave was boosted by 200% because of his class's perk of boosting whatever buff he gains by 200%.
But considering these stats, Ainen was already stronger than the strongest Awakened-rank in terms of stats. And in terms of combat arsenal? He was a monster.
Ainen's spells didn't just get a boost. He literally evolved them.
But just as Ainen started cooking, the Saffa and others warned him.
'Someone very strong is approaching us fast.'
'They know about us.'
'They are here.'
'Eh?'
Ainen stood up.
But right then, a flying ship had arrived, hovering right above them.
Three figures shot out of it and softly landed in Ainen's camp.
"So this is him? An Awakened-rank got blessed by Arcane?" The blue-haired young man, looking similar to Ainen's age, muttered, his eyes turning disbelieving.
"Now this is surprising." Lilian's eyes glinted.
'His outfit looks a bit strange, Madam Lilian.' The middle-aged man relayed. 'I sense a powerful bloodline.'
'Indeed, Raashik. Those are some rare monsters. Offsprings of a powerful lineage.'
"Hello…" Ainen spoke, his smile displaying slight wariness.
"At ease, young man. We are here with an opportunity for you." Lilian smiled.
"Opportunity?" Ainen blinked.
"We are here to invite you to the Sacred Aurelian Magic Academy. A place where you can best hone your talents and advance in the most comprehensive manner on this path of the arcane."
Ainen was surprised. "Sounds grand."
"But why?"
Hearing that, the trio was slightly taken aback.
The blue-haired young man snorted. "People would kill for this opportunity, and you are asking why?"
"Yeah, I am asking why me?" Ainen smiled.
"It's because you acquired an Arcane Blessing, which indicates that you have glimpsed the depth of Arcane better than these two beside me," Lilian answered with a faint smile.
"Humph, that doesn't mean he is stronger than me."
"Manners, Zeinil." Raashik rebuked the blue-haired young man, hitting him in the head.
"I see. I get that this is a golden opportunity, but I want my siblings to be with me. And I also want full freedom because I like to decide what to do."
'As I can't afford to let others discover my boons.' Ainen thought.
'That's for sure.' Lord Black affirmed. 'There are always some crazies out there, and the hunger for power in those at the top is strong. You absolutely cannot let others find out about your boons.'
Hearing Ainen's words, Zeinil laughed loudly. "Look at him making demands. Kid, you really don't know the vastness of the world, eh?"
"Yeah, I suppose that's true." Ainen nodded with a smile. "Of course, I am not saying that I will reap the benefits of your institution without contributing back. That's bad manners. However, I would like to have privacy and autonomy about my decisions and my path. You can't force me to do something against my will."
'I've had enough of companies and corporations trying to control my restaurants in my previous life just because they got famous quickly, humph.'
'What's that?'
'I'll tell you some other day. For now, let's deal with these people. I can't afford to antagonize them because they are freaking strong.'
'They can indeed kill you with a flick of a finger.'
'And they have already discovered us, Master. At least, that woman knows that we are monsters who have the talent to transform.'
"Well, I understand your concerns, young man."
"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Ainen. Chef Ainen."
"Chef?" Raashin raised his eyebrows.
"Yes. That's my surname, and my class is also chef. I cook food." Ainen grinned.
Lilian's brows furrowed. 'A chef class?'
Hearing that, Zeinil burst out laughing. "Chef? It looks like this was a wasted trip. If he is focused on chef class, how strong can he even be?"
