Chapter 76: Gabriel
Chapter 76: Gabriel
“Here’s the deal, I heard everything from the City Lord. You guys took down that alien creature, right?”
“Well, to be accurate, it was Aier who did it all by herself. I didn’t really contribute.”
During the time that Aierjisi was still unconscious, Yin and Yake were also sitting on another bed, chatting away.
“Wow, she’s really something! I heard from the City Lord that that alien’s laser was super powerful. It pierced through his armor like it was nothing!”
“Yeah, that alien’s laser was indeed no joke. Even a graze would have caused me some serious damage.”
Thinking back to that moment when Aierjisi kicked herself out to draw the alien’s attack. Luckily, my reflexes are on point, and I dodged those lasers. If I were one of those big, clumsy types, I would have been full of holes by now.
“So, could you go into detail about how she managed to take down that alien?”
Yin was genuinely curious about how Aierjisi flipped the tables on that alien creature.
“I’m not clear on the specifics either. All I saw was Aier continuously approaching the alien with her Magic Shield, and then that thing concentrated all its lasers on the shield, only to punch right through it. After that, I have no idea what kind of magic she pulled out, but she reflected all those lasers back at it and successfully took it down.”
From the angle Yake was at, he couldn’t see exactly what Aierjisi did to reflect all those lasers back. To figure out what that little princess did, they’d just have to wait until she woke up and asked her directly.
While Yake and Yin were still talking, Aierjisi was having a dream, a rather tormenting one.
“Cosmic Phantom Beast Fist—Bovine Havoc Punch!”
With that man’s thrown fist, Ailin and a white-haired guy who was fighting him were sent flying, crashing to the ground and unable to get back up.
“We’ll take the princess with us.”
Seeing that the other side could no longer continue battling, the man knew he had achieved his goal. He walked over to Ailin and picked her up.
At that moment, a wormhole appeared, just like the one Gilbaris had before.
“Wait… give me back Ailin… my wife…”
Seeing the man about to take his beloved, the white-haired man struggled to rise from the ground, trying to stop him.
“Not a chance. This princess is very important to us. She will glory as one of the sacrifices to awaken our God. We can’t just hand her over to someone like you who’d waste her value.”
“Sacrifice? Don’t make me laugh! Ailin is not some stupid sacrifice!”
The white-haired man, brandishing his long spear, charged at the guy.
“Ah!”
Before he could get close, a blue lightning bolt shot out from the wormhole, hitting his chest and sending him flying.
“Stop wasting time, come back, Diablo.”
“Yeah, I know. Well then, see you later, Your Majesty. Enjoy the coming doom in this little bit of time left. Hahaha!”
With that, the man stepped into the wormhole with Ailin, leaving the white-haired guy alone to furiously pound the ground.
“Dammit, dammit! If only I were stronger… then Ailin wouldn’t have been taken by those bastards.”
The white-haired man cried in frustration, tears streaming down his face.
Meanwhile, Aierjisi was watching the entire scene unfold as a mere spectator.
“Ailin was kidnapped by that pyramid scheme gang? Why would I dream of something like this?”
Aierjisi could sense something was off. This should have been her dream, yet why was she witnessing such events?
“Because it’s something I want you to see.”
“Who? Who’s in my dream?”
Startled by a voice that didn’t belong to her, Aierjisi looked around in a panic. Who was intruding into her dream? Could it be those Adrian People?
“My name is Gabriel, a name you should have heard from Aisi.”
Though she couldn’t see the figure, the entity introduced itself succinctly.
“Gabriel… you’re that angel Aisi mentioned!”
“Correct.”
“Where are you? Show yourself!”
Aierjisi glanced around but couldn’t locate Gabriel at all.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t manifest my physical form right now. The Adrian people have launched an attack on this world, and the connection from the heavenly realm has weakened significantly, so I can only talk to you like this.”
“Ugh.”
Frustrated by the situation preventing the angel from showing up, Aierjisi felt annoyed. She had been itching to give that angel a piece of her mind for barging into her dreams. Since she couldn’t reach Gabriel physically, she’d have to hold off on that for now. She’d settle the score when she finally met him.
“So, why did the angel invade my dream and show me these things? What’s the meaning behind this?”
Aierjisi pressed Gabriel for the significance of the vision.
“Of course, there’s meaning. The delay in your city has dragged on for far too long; Ailin has already been taken by those Adrian people.”
Gabriel seemed a bit irritated as he spoke, revealing that Aierjisi’s reason for lingering in the city had disrupted his plans, causing some dissatisfaction.
“Well, that certainly complicates things.”
Aierjisi recognized that this was her fault. If she had just taken a short rest in the city before heading to Panimir, she would have been able to reunite safely with Ailin. If they teamed up, they’d be able to handle those Adrian folks.
“So, Gabriel, you’ve come all this way not just to reprimand me, right? There’s got to be some kind of order you wish to give me?”
Since this angel showed her all of this, he must have something specific he wanted to discuss.
“You’re a quick thinker for a little princess, aren’t you? That’s right; I’ve come to talk about the next plan. The current situation is dire. Ailin has been kidnapped. You must find a way to assist that King in rescuing Ailin.”
“What? Just me?”
Aierjisi was taken aback. She was barely managing to stay afloat herself; how the heck could she help the King rescue Ailin?
“Don’t worry, that King is quite strong, much stronger than you, a mere servant.”
Gabriel informed Aierjisi about the King’s capabilities. In short, the upcoming task was to assist the King in rescuing the Ice Dragon Princess. As for how to do it, she would just have to follow the King’s lead.
