I Am Extraordinary Alone

Chapter 671: Another Legend

Wang Ye woke up again, the ceiling came into view.

He sat up abruptly, lifted the blanket to look at himself, his body was intact, with no visible scars.

Outside the window, warm sunlight penetrated the glass and covered the bed, yet he felt no warmth at all.

The divine Taiyang is no longer human, and his mind is nearing insanity; he is now a walking celestial calamity.

Wang Ye wanted to commit suicide, so he rolled out of bed with difficulty, and as soon as his feet touched the ground, he fell, sprawling onto the floor.

He grabbed the edge of the bed to stand up, feeling around the cabinet, trying to find a sharp object like a fork or a dining knife.

But clearly, the room was cleaned thoroughly, and they had thought of everything, giving him no chance to commit suicide. He crawled to the window, intending to jump out, but found it was sealed by some force, unable to be pushed open.

He sat against the wall, panting from exhaustion.

After resting for a while, Wang Ye looked at the room's door. After a moment, he crawled over, grabbing the doorknob to stand up.

Wang Ye tried to turn the doorknob, assuming the room would also be sealed. Unexpectedly, the door opened easily; he lost his balance and fell into the quiet hallway.

He looked both ways down the corridor; it was empty and clean, with footlights illuminating the path with soft, golden light, while the upper part of the hallway was shrouded in darkness.

Wang Ye listened carefully and faintly heard the sound of singing coming from the corridor.

Was it coming from a gramophone? Or electronic devices like a computer, phone, or tablet? The song playing was a country music piece from the Setikaya Federation.

Wang Ye followed the sound of the music, leaning against the wall as he walked with difficulty. His frail body was weak, and his nearly 2-meter height turned into a burden.

The singing came from a room at the end of the hallway. Wang Ye reached the door, hesitating whether to knock. Whose room was this? He guessed it was likely Ahab's or Kent's, with Kent having a lower possibility, since Wang Ye didn't think someone like Kent would enjoy country music, maybe some stupid pop music instead.

Just as Wang Ye hesitated, a voice of an old lady came from inside the room.

"Come in."

Wang Ye was taken aback; the voice didn't sound like Ahab or anyone else, and certainly not Lord Zhao Ling. So, he turned the doorknob and stepped inside.

The sunlight streaming through the window hurt his eyes, which had just adapted to the darkness. Wang Ye raised his hand to shield his eyes and saw an elderly woman with short hair sitting in a rocking chair by the window, holding a cup of coffee, looking at him.

"You're the man they brought back?" the old woman smiled.

Wang Ye closed the door and weakly walked over to sit on the bedside.

"Judging by your build, you used to be a warrior, right?" the old woman said.

"Not anymore... My name is Wang Ye. I never thought there were other humans besides me in this world!" Wang Ye said.

The old woman smiled and said, "My name is Ezekiel. Our meeting here is a kind of fate."

"I don't believe in fate, old lady. It's just that we've had bad luck and been captured by them," Wang Ye said.

"If I'm not mistaken, he wants you to be a witness, right?" Ezekiel asked.

"You too?" Wang Ye asked.

Ezekiel nodded and said, "I used to serve Spencer, you might have heard of the name, but later, he failed, and He found me."

"Are you with the Foundation?" Wang Ye asked.

"Strictly speaking, I'm with a special forces unit endowed with supernatural abilities; I used to be, and still am. And you, you are a soldier of the Yin Kingdom?" Ezekiel inquired.

"No, I was with the Council Army, then they split up, and the Army went its own way... and later... heh... that was nine years ago. Anyway, none of it matters now, they're all dead... nothing is left," Wang Ye shook his head.

"Not necessarily," Ezekiel said.

"Are you in a supernatural special forces unit, Trinity or Double Triangle? Pardon my bluntness, the Trinity isn't much use, and you're too old to kill Shentai Yuyou while He's standing right in front of us," Wang Ye said.

"Life will always find a way, Wang Ye. My ability isn't about killing, but seeing. I can catch glimpses of what might be in the near future," Ezekiel said.

Hearing this, Wang Ye perked up, moved closer, and quickly asked, "You can see the future?! Does He know!?"

"Calm down, you startled me," Ezekiel chuckled.

Wang Ye sat back a bit and said, "If He knows you have this ability, He will definitely kill you!"

"He knows, but He keeps me around because He wants to make me believe that He can change the future I see," Ezekiel said.

"It's hard for Him not to be arrogant now, after all, He's killed everyone, taken over this planet, He's humiliating us in this way, we're like monkeys locked in a zoo!" Wang Ye angrily declared.

"Are you so sure there's no one else left in this world?" Ezekiel smiled.

"What did you see? Why don't you tell me? Can you see His death? Can we win? No matter who it is, can anyone kill Him?!" Wang Ye asked.

Ezekiel pondered for a moment before saying, "It's hard to say; the scenes I see are always fuzzy, like awakening suddenly from a dream and forgetting most of the details, with some deviations from reality. But I did see a torn black body, and I saw His death... but something felt off."

"A black body! With a horn on the head and four pupils in the eyes, is this the vision you saw?" Wang Ye said.

Ezekiel nodded and said, "That face is the one thing I haven't forgotten."

"Exactly! I won't forget that face either! That's Him! He can be killed!" Wang Ye suddenly felt a surge of determination.

"But... Wang Ye, I have a request; could you let me see your future?" Ezekiel asked.

"My future?" Wang Ye was surprised.

"We've never met before; I'd never seen you prior, but now you're here at the Paigota Hotel, your background must be exceptional. I'm curious about your destiny in the future, what kind of position you will have," Ezekiel said.

"Go ahead! I have nothing left to lose, and nothing can defeat me anymore!" Wang Ye said.

Ezekiel stood up, coming in front of Wang Ye, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.

Wang Ye noticed her eyes emitted a faint blue glow, which then turned golden. Ezekiel stood there motionless, as if in a trance for over a minute. Wang Ye did not dare to disturb her, softly calling her name twice to no avail, and had to just sit there, waiting.

Another two minutes passed, Ezekiel suddenly collapsed onto the bed, the light in her eyes faded, and she muttered a string of names indistinctly.

"Reksa... Iron Lady... Gillian..."

Wang Ye gently shook her and said, "What's the matter? You seem confused. What do those names mean?"

Ezekiel was stunned for a while, as if waking up from a long dream, she looked at Wang Ye and said, "I saw it, a massive fortress city... I saw a swarm of insects covering the sky, and I saw you..."
