Chapter 86: Noah is awake?-1

While two teams were busy with their mission Cody, who was left behind to take care of unconscious Noah was busy cleaning up his face as he had a high fever probably because of his body was healing itself from the inside.

The battle with Alpha Canis was brutal but fortunately, he wasn't as hurt as when he repelled the Sabtlethorn Army from invading the village.

He was already hurt before he arrived in the village and before he could get fully healed he was struck by dozens arrows. If not for Esmeralda, everyone thought he would die right then and there with how much blood he lost protecting Cyra and other villagers.

Right after that he became a suspect in th conspiracy from which he barely escaped despite being hurt during their fight with mutated wolves.

Then his fight with legendary monster, Alpha Canis. It's barely been two weeks since he came in the village and Cody had never seen him not injured always having bandages around his arms or legs but somehow he would function normally and even trained them to become novice soldiers.

Since he was practically alone, many thoughts were running in his mind. There was also his other responsibility that was to inform Bijan's team in case someone got close to their location.

Since they camped in a hidden place around the cliff, Cody had height advantage and could tell if either the villagers came to look gor them or the enemy who was slated to appear pass through the valley.

What he was most worried about was encountering Bijan and Cyra's master, the Flame emperor. No one knew if Noah could even defeat the old sorcerer who had been in the limelight for decades at this point.

With him still injured and unconscious, he knew he wouldn't be able to call for help if that man acted personally.

Beside, their radio wasn't equipped with extra long distance communication at most he could warn Bijan, Julia and Jake as from the top he could barely see the cave but Cyra and Milo had to go back the goot of the mountain. It was questionable if they would be able to communicate in case of emergency which was why their mission was the most dangerous one!

Cody was doing his usual duty always being alert as he promised his friends that he would stick to his mission no matter what when he heard something from the tent Noah was in.

He almost jumped and started looking around if he was secretly surrounded or it was an enemy attack because there was no well in hell Noah would be able to move. It's only been six hours since everyone left, they clearly told him that it would at least take him three days to a week before he regain consciousness still he went inside to see what was happening inside the tent.

As soon as he set foot inside, he was dumbstruck and couldn't believe his eyes. He saw Noah sitting upright on the bed looking around with an expressionless face.

For some reason Cody could tell that the person wasn't the leader that he knows and was something entirely different. Just when he thought what to do the person spoke," Nice work taking care of him. I can see that the training went quite well."

The person smiled but it looked eerie and completely unnatural. The reason why he was praised was because without even thinking about it, he had pulled out the rifle and was pointing at the 'creature's' direction.

The absence of hesitation and the presence of mind to know the difference was what inspired the person to praise him.

" Just put it down and bring me some food...no lots of food and water. I need something to sustain my presence." Noah or whoever was inside of him didn't care about the weapon and gave order like it was the most natural thing to do.

" Who are you? What happened to Mr Noah!? A-are you a demon?" Cody wasn't going to let his guard down. His training obliged him to notic deceptive behaviour and he was sure his leader wasn't the sort of person who would speak in monotonous voice or gave command without showing appreciation. He cared about everyone and didn't take things for granted but whatever this entity was trying to emulate Noah was failing massively to do so.

" Cody, I don't have time to explain. You can ask him when he wakes up which would be longer but for now you have to do exactly what I say you to do or else your friends would die." The entity outright threatened him with an ultimatum.

" You.... How do you know-" Cody was certain that Noah was unconscious and didn't even know that they were continuing the mission without him.

" Like I said-*rip* *rip*, I don't have time to argue. Time is off essence here." Noah started undoing all the bandages which led to his wounds bleed but right before Cody's eyes, the terrible wounds were healing at rapid rate like he was not a human.

" And there are no demons in this world, maybe some could manifest itself but they wouldn't come to this backward island because it doesn't have any value to them." He casually explained to Cody as it started gearing itself like he was going to battle.

Demons were a point of contention for centuries but there were only rumours about the elusive race especially this far out from th center of this world.

Noah only casually told them few stories from his home world for fun and that included possession which was why Cody asked if the person was a demon.

Cody was stumped, he had his finger on the trigger but didn't know whether he could shoot his leader. Maybe it was a new type of monster that could create hallucinations, they just fought Alpha Canis who was set to put their target in fearful state just by looking at them which would make them too inebriated to fight back!

"Fine, if you want proof would I able to do this?" The entity waved it's hand and about a hundred kind of weapons appeared inside the tent, it was even arranged in perfect order along with their bullet type which they learned about.
