Hunter X Hunter: The Strongest Assassin Of The Zoldyck Family!

Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Raiken's Strength!

Even if someone is a Transmuter, their body shouldn't be too weak.

Top-level Nen users—regardless of their category—are always physically powerful.

Silva Zoldyck, Emitter, Chrollo Lucilfer, a Specialist, and Illumi Zoldyck, a Manipulator—all of them possess extraordinary physical strength.

Having peak combat ability and refined skills is essential. This is what Kaizen needs as well.

When the Killer Queen realized her close combat skills were no match for Raiken, she instinctively pulled back, hoping to use her explosive abilities to regain the upper hand.

Raiken pursued her relentlessly.

Just as Raiken moved to close the distance, the ground beneath his feet exploded with violent force—silent, but immensely powerful.

Raiken's body was launched into the air.

Normally, someone caught mid-air becomes an easy target. In similar situations, Kaizen and the Killer Queen had taken down many opponents without mercy.

The Killer Queen's eyes gleamed as she saw Raiken's airborne state.

She prepared for an even more devastating attack.

But at that moment, Raiken demonstrated incredible body control. Twisting mid-air, he regained his balance and stabilized himself before landing.

The Killer Queen's attack missed.

Raiken hit the ground running, immediately dashing toward her once again.

Kaizen had no intention of holding his mind beasts back—they were expendable.

After all, they were simply constructs of aura. If destroyed, they would only anger Kaizen, but he could restore them once his aura was replenished.

Facing Raiken's unrelenting offense, the Killer Queen continued to retreat. Yet she wasn't entirely on the defensive.

Raiken's body was riddled with cuts, and his left arm was missing—blown off in an earlier explosion.

The Killer Queen had used one of her bombs to sever his arm completely.

"Creak!"

A door opened nearby.

Kaizen immediately melded into the shadows.

A patrolling worker entered, flashlight in hand, scanning the area.

"Who's there...?"

The worker had heard the commotion but saw no one.

Despite the eerie silence, the strange sounds persisted.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

The rhythmic impacts echoed through the arena as the Killer Queen clashed with Raiken.

"Crack!"

Suddenly, the floor of the ring buckled. Cracks spread like spider webs across the surface.

The worker's eyes widened.

"What the...?"

Unable to see Nen beasts or sense aura, the worker jumped to a hasty conclusion.

"...Is this place haunted?"

Panic washed over him. He turned on his heel and bolted from the room.

Kaizen remained hidden until the worker left, then emerged from the shadows.

"Stop," he commanded.

Both the Killer Queen and Raiken froze in place.

With another thought, Kaizen recalled the two beasts, making them disappear into thin air.

After observing their fight, Kaizen had formed a solid evaluation.

Raiken excelled in close combat—his skills were overwhelming, almost completely crushing the Killer Queen in hand-to-hand exchanges.

While both beasts were on the same level, their abilities were focused differently.

In a raw physical encounter, Raiken had the upper hand. But if the Killer Queen were given time to prepare, she would likely emerge victorious with her explosive traps.

"The Killer Queen's bombs are useful, even against mind beasts," Kaizen thought.

"To compare them with real-world Nen users... Raiken resembles Uvogin from the Phantom Troupe—a pure Enhancer, unmatched in brute force."

"And the Killer Queen is like the bomber from Greed Island—an unpredictable Conjurer."

Of course, Kaizen's comparisons were stylistic. Strength was another matter entirely.

"Their current abilities aren't fully developed," he mused. "But one day, Raiken will surpass even Uvogin."

"And the Killer Queen will be stronger than the bomber."

Kaizen was confident. He carried the blood of the Zoldyck family—his talent recognized even within the assassin clan. Being favored by Maha Zoldyck was no small feat.

In addition to that, Kaizen possessed the advantage of being a traverser—someone from another world.

The Next Day

Rumors of ghosts quickly spread among the staff on the 200th floor of Heavens Arena.

"They say strange noises come from the arena in the middle of the night."

"Better stay away after dark."

Kaizen overheard these murmurs as he passed by and smirked.

"Ghosts, huh? No ghosts—just my Nen beasts," he thought. "This rumor will fade soon enough."

He was pleased with Raiken's performance. Different types of beasts suited different kinds of battles.

"Jingle, jingle!"

Kaizen's phone rang. He pulled it from his pocket and answered.

"Kaizen," came a familiar voice.

"Grandpa Zeno."

"Still staying at the same place?" Zeno asked.

"Yeah."

"I'll be there in two days."

"Got it."

After hanging up, Kaizen glanced at the time and made a decision.

He headed to the front desk.

"I'd like to apply for a match," he said.

"Tomorrow?" the receptionist asked. "We already have an open slot for tomorrow."

"That works," Kaizen replied.

On the 200th floor, battles were scheduled based on availability. If only two applicants were on the list, they would automatically be matched.

If more players registered, match-ups were decided randomly.

Kaizen didn't care who his opponent was—he knew no one on the 200th floor could pose a real threat to him.

After filling out the application form, he nodded to himself.

"If I fight tomorrow, I'll get a three-month cooldown," he thought. "My status will remain intact, and I can keep this luxury suite."

Just as Kaizen finished at the desk, a young man approached from the corner of the hall.

The moment he spotted Kaizen, the man's expression darkened.

"Kaizen...?"

Kaizen ignored him and left for his room.

The young man rushed to the front desk.

"Did Kaizen just apply for a fight?" he asked urgently.

"Yes, for tomorrow," the staff member confirmed.
