After the party, Merida and I headed for our personal chamber. The walk was quiet, a silent understanding passing between us. We both knew what we would have to do next. Though I was less nervous than I had been earlier, a flutter of unease remained.
In both this life and my last, I was a virgin. I hadn't once even kissed a girl my age in my past life. As we reached our chamber, I looked back at her. Her head was faced towards the floor, a deep blush staining her cheeks. I, too, felt my own face flush with embarrassment. I opened the door and waited for her to enter. As she walked in, I followed and quietly closed the door behind us, sealing us in our private world.
She walked slowly and sat on the edge of the bed. I fidgeted in my spot, a turmoil of emotions inside me. I knew what I had to do, but I wasn't sure I had the strength to do it. I took a deep breath, steeling my nerves, and slowly started walking towards her. Her head was still facing the floor, a curtain of her vibrant red hair hiding her face. Once I reached her, I gently grabbed her chin and lifted her head, making her look into my eyes before I leaned in and kissed her.
She closed her eyes. For what felt like an eternity, we were lost in that moment until we finally separated. I slowly began to take off my clothes, starting with my shirt. As I did, she watched, her gaze traveling over the scars and muscle on my bare upper chest. A deep blush spread across her face, and her breath hitched slightly.
(you probably thought i was gonna write some scenes but u wrong boi)
The next morning, the sound of dragons roaring echoed across the island. My eyes slowly opened, and I turned my head to see Merida sleeping peacefully on my arm. I smiled, giving her a small kiss before gently waking her up. She groggily woke up, her eyes blinking a few times before she sat up and yawned.
Suddenly, she winced, placing a hand on her back.
"Oww, my waist," she said, her brow furrowing.
I sighed. We weren't even rough in bed; I was just more than she could handle. I stood up and put on a gown before fitting her into one as well, then scooped her up into my arms.
"Where are we going?" she asked, a sleepy curiosity in her voice.
"Let's go take a bath," I replied with a warm smile.
She nodded. As I left the room and headed for the baths, multiple maids and soldiers bowed and saluted. I nodded back and kept walking. Soon, we reached the baths. I entered with her in my arms, and then took off both our gowns before entering the water.
The bath looked like a small pool, the water coming up to my thighs. Of course, the lowest it would ever get was to my kneecaps. As we bathed, Merida suddenly noticed something.
"Erik, are those runes on your body?" she asked, her finger tracing a faint pattern on my shoulder.
My eyebrow raised before I realized what she meant. "Yes, they are," I replied.
"Is it a protection rune or for a boost in strength?" she asked, a curious tilt to her head.
I shook my head. "No, the runes are to seal my powers. I didn't have time to train and stabilize it, and because of that, during one of my conquests of an island, I got angered and used too much power and wiped the island off the map."
Her eyes widened. "What?" she said, a flicker of fear and conflict in her expression.
"You don't have to worry," I replied, immediately reassuring her. "The island wasn't inhabited. The island just grew weird plants that made a person aggressive."
She sighed, the tension leaving her shoulders. "That's good," she said.
"By the way," she began again, her tone shifting, "who is the woman with platinum blond hair?"
My eyebrow raised again. "Do you mean Elsa?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Oh, she is one of my generals. She has an exceptional magical potential, and I'm currently teaching her," I answered.
She stayed quiet for a moment before saying, "Aren't you planning on marrying her too?" she asked, her voice laced with confusion.
My eyebrows practically shot off my forehead. "Why would you think that?" I asked.
"Well, it's quite obvious. Now that you're an emperor, you're going to need many children. And with the fact that you have so many islands and still plan to conquer more land, I don't think I can bear so many children," she said sadly, her gaze falling to the water.
"Did you forget who I am?" I said, a smirk on my face. "If I can bring you back to life, I think I can find a way for you to have more children."
"But what if I don't want to have so many children?" she asked, looking up at me.
"That's fine with me. It depends on you, but I want at least three children," I said, the smirk still on my face.
She smiled, but it faded again. "I'm not really a good queen. I wasn't even a good princess. I honestly wouldn't mind if you have more wives, as long as they're not vixens," she said.
My eyes widened. "I thought with your personality you would be against it."
She looked confused. "Why would I be against it? You know that kings normally had multiple wives, right?" she asked.
"Well, I do, but you know, with your mom and dad," I said, trailing off.
"Oh. Well, technically, my father was supposed to marry a woman from each of the clans, but with my father's attitude and eccentricities, he didn't marry any of them. Instead, he wedded my mother, who was, at the time, a princess of a fallen kingdom. I had actually met the three women, and they weren't the best, so I was glad he didn't marry them, but I'm not against it," she explained.
I nodded. "But still, I don't think me and Elsa have that sort of relationship," I replied.
She stared at me like I was some sort of fool.
"W-what?" I asked.
"That woman is in love with you," she said simply.
My eyes widened. "I-I don't think she is," I tried to say, my voice trailing off.
She sighed. "I saw everything. Every time your name was mentioned, she would become alert, but not with tension. It was the same reaction I had back then. And during our wedding and coronation, I could see her longing," she explained.
I gulped. That's impossible. How come I never noticed?
"Because you are an idiot," Diastasi said out of nowhere.
A vein physically formed on my forehead, but I decided to ignore her.
"Like I said, I don't care if you marry another woman, just don't choose a vixen," Merida said.
I sighed and nodded.
After we finished taking the bath, I took out clothes from my inventory and gave a set to her and took out one for me. A few minutes later, we finished dressing, and I looked back at her and smiled.
"Are you ready to eat? Not to brag, but your husband is the best chef in the world." I said, pointing to myself with a grin.
She gave a small laugh before putting her hands up in mock surrender.
I smiled, picked her up, and carried her out. As I walked with her, we talked and laughed, the morning filled with a newfound ease.
"Where is Moon?" she suddenly asked.
"She might be in the kitchen," I replied. "She loves to eat."
She nodded.
"Hey Erik?" she asked, her voice a little more serious.
"Yes?" I replied.
She pursed her lips and then spoke. "I know I can't ask you to stop your conquests, but can you pause it for at least a year?"
I went quiet, though I continued to walk. My eyes then softened as I looked down at her. "Well, since you asked, I can for a year," I answered.
"Thank you," she said, her gratitude shining in her eyes.
I nodded, and we continued to walk, letting things fall into a comfortable silence.
Soon, we reached the kitchen. I opened the door and entered, smiling at the sight of Moon sitting in a chair, already devouring her food like a rabid animal. Elsa was also there, eating with her.
Merida signaled for me to let her down. I slowly let her down, and she walked toward the table. Moon, noticing her, stopped eating and jumped toward her.
"Mommy!" she shouted excitedly.
Merida smiled as she hugged her. "How is my little baby doing?" Merida asked.
"Mommy, I'm feeling so happy! I eat so much food everyday," Moon replied.
Merida smiled, staring at her, but her gaze then fell to the dozens of plates piled around where Moon was previously sitting. She frowned. "How much did you eat?" Merida asked sternly.
"Uhm, just 30 plates," she replied, her voice shrinking.
Merida's eyes furrowed even more. "Why did you eat so much? This much food is bad for you."
I knew what was going to happen. "Moon—" I started, but Merida put a finger up and silenced me.
She looked at Moon, signaling her to continue. "Well, I usually eat more. Daddy eats even more than me. And he said I could eat as I wanted."
"What? No, I didn't! I told her to control herself all the time, but she just listens to me and for me—" I coughed, covering my slip-up. "I just like to eat." I said timidly.
She just looked sternly at me, a silent judgment in her eyes.
One Hour Later
I sighed as I sat on my throne. Explaining myself to Merida had taken longer than I thought. I then smiled, a small, grateful grin. I was so glad I had maxed-out cooking. I had whipped up a few of her favorite dishes, and she just forgot about what she was mad about.
My eyes then focused as Viggo entered with documents in hand.
wViggo went on a knee and waited. I couldn't help but be surprised, Viggo was fastest in learning the customs and etiquette. His IQ was already high but I guess he had a knack for a lot of things.
"Rise and speak," I commanded.
He rose and then spoke.
"My lord, the reports have returned that the combined forces of Kemet, Dune, Mirage, and Sol will arrive in Agrabah in 3 days," he said.
As i expected "what is their power" i asked.
"My lord, their forces are extremely weak. Though there are 100,000, most aren't even soldiers." he replied.
My eyebrows furrowed "continue" I commanded.
"They forcibly enlist the old and young into the army, even children and women" he paused.
My blood pressure instantly rose. I was angry. Should i just kill them now and get this over with. It is the better choice. I wanted experience for my soldiers and to perform a show of power but now it doesn't matter since the battle wouldn't be worth it.
"Send a signal. The kings must die within a day. My forces will take over immediately and I hope I won't be needed." I said as I looked at him.
He nodded "yes my lord, i will get everything done within a month" he said.
"You're excused," I said.
He nodded and walked away. As I stood up from my throne someone knocked on the door. I sat back down.
"Enter" I commanded.
The door opened and in came Elsa. as she entered i tensed a little. I still couldn't get over the fact that this woman actually liked me. I thought she feared me because I had threatened to kill her if she didn't fall under my command but I guess I was wrong.
"Your majesty" she spoke.
