Chapter 360: Chapter 360 : Journey So Far

Orion took on the role of a mentor, much like how Merlin did for him, guiding young Orion through his magical journey. Knowing the struggles his younger self would face, especially with a fragile magical core, he chose to stay close, offering guidance and encouragement.

It was strange, very strange seeing your younger self from a third person point of view.

Beside the initial disappointment, anger and unhealthy thoughts about Hollow Purple the entire continent, he surprisingly was interesting.

He has to say that his younger self was quite different than what he has become right now.

Funny, easy going, hardly angered easily like he do it now. Though anger management was a issue with his younger self, he right now do it much better.

From a young age, Orion taught him spells which he surprisingly wasn't able to do any due to the limitation in magic. Potions, and the art of controlling magic with subtlety was barely possible.

Making up for the boy's limited magical reserve, he patiently showed him the basics, and as the boy absorbed every lesson, Orion felt a sense of pride mixed with nostalgia.

However, he was confused about something, neither he nor his younger self has that insane magic absorbing ability that the baby Orion showcased. He was able to train himself to achieve something similar but it wasn't a passive effect.

He can only attribute this to the boys core being damaged and slowly repairing itself. That was mostly the case with him.

Another question was why the hell he can absorb magic like this ? Even in Merlin's memories, there was a prophecy were a mention of a child being born with this kind of power is mention.

He can only stay that this was an strange mutation for the time being.

There was another very disturbing thing in his mind. He believe that the original Orion was long dead.

He himself saw what happen with the Baby. He believe when the heart beat of the baby stopped, that was when his soul from other world got attach to him. Though this was just his conjecture and he can't say for sure.

Young Orion was determined, his eyes filled with the same fiery curiosity that had once driven him.

When the boy started at Hogwarts, Orion watched as he struggled, falling behind others who had more magical strength. But he never gave up. Young Orion would spend hours training, studying with a focus unmatched, pushing himself to master even the smallest spells he could. Whenever the boy felt discouraged, Orion just gave him slight push to make him keep going.

Together, they pressed on, laying the foundation for a strong and resilient wizard. And then for the first time he saw Orion fighting against the Orc.

He has to say that he was bloody handsome there.

He all this time had to stay in Merlin form, use magic to act like he was a ghost. Ridiculous but that might be the most fun he had in the past few years. More than anything, he now knew that Red was Alive. He save his friend, he wanted to tell this his younger self but he can't.

Then there was also Hermione and Nick. That was another thing which he had to deal with.

Orion continued to play the part of Merlin, guiding his younger self through the second year at Hogwarts. He watched over him closely, knowing the challenges that lay ahead, especially as the boy was becoming more aware of his own capabilities.

It was the most fun he had, acting like an Sith teacher… teaching him force haha… it was pretty cool.

Orion knew he had to tread carefully—too much help would make young Orion dependent, while too little would leave him unprepared.

The school year soon presented a serious dilemma. Young Orion had found out that Hermione was in danger, a situation that would put his own abilities and principles to the test. Orion, posing as Merlin, talked him through the decision. He asked his younger self, "Would you be willing to take risks for others, even if it means stepping into danger yourself?" It was a question not just about bravery but about the values that would shape him.

With his own experience, try to ingrain the idea that he was no Hero into his head. But what he was honestly expecting… it was him.

At the same time, Orion kept a watchful eye on Nick and Morgana. He instructed young Orion to observe carefully, to learn without drawing too much attention, and to look for patterns in their behavior. As Merlin, he taught him that wisdom sometimes meant patience and that strength often lay in subtlety.

As the year progressed, Orion could see his younger self growing—not just in skill but in understanding. He knew this was only the beginning of a much larger journey. For now, he was content to watch, guide, and be the steady presence his younger self needed.

Orion recalled how, by his third year, his younger self had thrown himself into relentless training, driven by a fierce determination to grow stronger. There was an intensity in young Orion that bordered on obsession; each day was a push beyond his limits, and each setback only fueled him further. Orion, in his "Merlin" role, watched as the boy grew from a vulnerable young student into a self-assured figure who seemed almost untouchable.

Young Orion's newfound strength was evident—he was no longer the struggling boy who worried over his limitations. Instead, he became someone who didn't seem to fear anything, often testing himself against powerful spells and difficult opponents, constantly hungry for growth. And yet, even as he grew stronger, Orion could see that his younger self was still searching, perhaps not fully understanding why he was driven so fiercely.

Orion, remembering these moments, felt a mix of pride and caution. While he admired the strength and resilience young Orion had developed, he knew that raw power alone wasn't enough. The intent behind that all power has to be shape inside him, power without reason is destruction.

Then there was the fate world, that was another challenge, going to another world him his younger self was hard. But he somehow manage.

"With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibilities." That was the last thing he said to his younger self as Merlin, like what happen to him.

After that, his role here to help him out was over. And another role started.

Eric...

Of course there was no real Eric, Eric was the student of Merlin who turn into that Vampire a long time ago.

He only had some of his memories and from then on he started to help his younger self out. But this time not as Merlin and not even taking any active approach either. He was on the back stage while his younger self was making choices for himself.

He could felt his own growth. From there on it was just a suttle push that he had to give him.

'I was really acting edgy teenager due to the headache huh... Haha.' Orion can't help but smile thinking how his younger self was cursing himself when he was acting like Eric.

And then finally comes the departure of his Younger self to future.

From here on, comes the time when he will have to start take things into his own hand.
