Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Sasuke: I’ll Tell the Teacher
"Naruto, I didn't expect you to be so good with words. You really surprised me," Jiraiya said, his face full of satisfaction as he sipped his drink, looking somewhat lost in thought, almost as if he were drunk.
Sasuke, sitting beside him, nodded in agreement.
Naruto puffed out his cheeks. He didn't feel embarrassed anymore. Instead, he felt a sense of pride. "Hmph, Kurama said that my emotional intelligence is higher than my father's."
Jiraiya thought about Minato's wooden expression and agreed, "That's true."
Sasuke, curious, asked, "Your father? I remember your father wasn't..."
"It's a long story. I'll explain it to you sometime," Naruto shrugged.
At this point, they had already left the Land of Fire. They were now in a small town on the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind. This town was famous in the ninja world as a tourist spot, with buildings of various styles and different filming locations.
Many of the most difficult missions in the ninja world were filmed here.
But that wasn't the point. The real focus was that they had come out for training, and Tsunade had casually given them a mission. The difficulty of the ninjutsu wasn't high, but it required a long duration to maintain. Kurama was currently trying out the Shadow Clone technique, so this mission was a perfect fit for the time.
Sasuke and Naruto didn't refuse. After Naruto learned Rasengan, he began studying sealing techniques. During this period, Jiraiya mainly taught him sealing techniques, while Sasuke focused on combat training with Jiraiya.
According to Jiraiya, Uchiha clan members, once they unlocked their Sharingan, were born to be ninjas. The best way to improve was through combat.
I have to admit, Jiraiya really knows his stuff. In the original story, Orochimaru's teaching method was similar—making Sasuke complete missions while training, such as eliminating dangerous test subjects that escaped. That's how Sasuke's combat abilities grew so quickly.
Hearing Naruto's words, Sasuke nodded in agreement, then turned to Jiraiya. "So what's this mission?"
"Already itching for a fight?" Jiraiya asked, amused. Sasuke didn't seem to know why, but the more he fought, the more excited he got. Jiraiya thought for a moment and said, "This mission is to escort a group of people to the Land of Snow for a movie shoot. The main person we're protecting is a movie star named Fujikaze Yukie."
"Is she pretty?" Naruto stretched his neck, curious since he had never seen a movie star before.
Sasuke replied sarcastically, "Do you want me to tell Hinata when we get back?"
Naruto: "..."
Looking sad, Naruto scratched his face and mumbled, "I'm just curious… And Sasuke, you've changed. You wouldn't have said something like that before."
Sasuke rolled his eyes and didn't respond.
After walking alongside these two unreliable guys for nearly a week, it would be strange if he hadn't picked up a bit of their talking style by now.
Jiraiya chuckled and raised his eyebrows with a sleazy grin. "I get it, Naruto, I understand. Fujikaze Yukie is very beautiful, and her figure is great. It's just a shame that she's not in any of the movies I like."
Sasuke rolled his eyes again… At this point, he was about to learn the full extent of the eye-roll technique: "Do you even know what kind of movies you watch?"
"Ugh." Naruto clicked his tongue in regret.
Sasuke: "..."
Someone help me! I don't want to walk with these two idiots anymore!
Jiraiya didn't care about Sasuke's feelings. He stood up and looked out at the distance with a serious expression. "I'm going to gather some intelligence. You two go ahead and find the client. I'll meet up with you later tonight."
Naruto took a sip of his water and said, "Perverted Sage, Kurama asked me to tell you to take care of yourself."
"I'm perfectly fine!" Jiraiya shouted loudly.
"Were you out collecting intelligence?" Sasuke helplessly held his forehead. "When I get back, I'm definitely going to report this to Tsunade-sama and Hinata. I'm telling them everything! I swear!"
Jiraiya didn't care. Worst-case scenario, he'd get a beating, but he'd been in the hospital before. Tsunade knew how to hold back, so she wouldn't actually kill him.
Naruto felt a bit embarrassed. Hinata's personality meant she wouldn't say anything, but just imagining her expression made him think he'd definitely back down. "Sorry, Sasuke. Please, please don't tell Hinata."
Life wasn't easy, Sasuke sighed.
In the end, Jiraiya went off alone to collect information, using Sasuke's wallet. Naruto's wallet had already been spent back in the small town, leaving just an empty little frog.
The two of them took the mission scroll, finished their lunch, then paid and left.
According to the information on the scroll, the client was currently at a movie set, and they would be there in just a few minutes. They hadn't encountered anything strange along the way. The town was located on the far edge of the ninja world, in a peaceful area where no one would cause trouble.
After all, there were many famous people here, and it was also a tourist spot. The Daimyo occasionally visited, so the town was much more important than other places.
That was the plan, but just as they arrived at the movie set entrance, they suddenly heard the loud call of a horse. The two of them, who had never been here before, paused and instinctively turned their heads to look.
At that moment, a figure riding a horse crashed through the set's gates, looking incredibly elegant and striking. Naruto and Sasuke were momentarily stunned.
"Wow, what a beautiful woman," Naruto said without thinking, then quickly froze and hurriedly covered his mouth.
Sasuke looked at him with a teasing smile, the corners of his mouth curling up. "Looks like I have another thing to report."
"I'm not! I didn't! If you tell Hinata, I'll kill you!" Naruto shouted out loudly.
Sasuke didn't care. This joke had been going on for a week, but Naruto's reactions still entertained him. He understood now—next time they sparred, he'd bring this up and see how Naruto handled it.
As they were talking, more people on horseback rode out from the base. Judging by their costumes, they were likely filming. The woman who had first ridden out was dressed beautifully, like a princess.
Unfortunately, her expression was too cold.
Sasuke crossed his arms and shook his head, watching the group of horseback riders leaving. "They're probably filming. I didn't expect it to be this interesting."
Although riding a horse wasn't as fast as running, those people did look pretty cool on horseback. Sasuke felt a bit eager to try it himself.
He turned to Naruto. "Should I go try it?"
But Naruto had already disappeared.
Sasuke: "..."
His face darkened, and without hesitation, he turned and chased after the people on horseback, shouting, "Damn Naruto! Wait for me!"
Naruto grinned and ran ahead full speed. "No way! Whoever catches up first gets to ride!"
Sasuke's face darkened even more. "You idiot, there are so many horses, we could each have one!"
