Chapter 22: Scouring The Realm
(Drakken's POV)
"Let us go, Cannibal." I said as I stood atop the dragon, "To the skies."
The dragon let out a roar and flapped its wings, immediately launching itself into the sky and flying upwards. I did not budge despite the turbulence, my discipline in staying standing on a dragon prevented me from stumbling.
Within a matter of a few seconds, we were in the sky, above Dragonstone and rapidly flying away. The Cannibal let out a commanding roar which resounded through the air. I felt that the presence it gave was beginning to spread in the sky in the form of a dark aura. This was a result of the enhancements that I gave it over the past few weeks.
I smirked, "Now now..." I said, "Calm down, my beast."
It extended its wings, gliding through the air above the sea. It stayed perfectly still as it did this, I could feel the wind hit my face as the smell of salt filled the air.
I glanced back and saw that the island was in the far distance, "Aemon, Aemon, Aemon..." I said with a smirk, "You are fortunate. For now, I will let you and your beloved wife rest. For the past couple of days, I've had you on edge, constantly looking behind your shoulder to see if I am lurking there...hahaha! You Targaryens are a riot!!"
I decided to ease up on Aemon and his family as per our deal. He had been cooperative with me so far so I will be easy on him. For now. Of course, it will benefit me greatly if he lives so I have to keep him somewhat happy.
The Cannibal then flapped its wings more, ascending to the sky even further as I had my arms crossed. The feeling of flying atop a Wyvern was surprisingly pleasant, I must admit. I can see why that sexy Queen mentioned it back then.
I do wonder if the King will die so I can take her as my woman. She seemed so loyal to him so it's going to be hard to do so. I can always kill the King but nah, that would make me seem desperate, which I am not. It is she who needs to be desperate, that is all. For a woman with many children, she does seem to be in great shape. And with my blessing, I can make her youth last longer than she intends it to.
It would be such a shame if she ended up dying old and shriveled, a waste of her genes.
"Meh...." I said with a shrug, "I don't give a shit if it doesn't happen."
She's her own woman. If she wishes to stay and love her husband, it doesn't concern me. I should not intervene and commit to my plan, to make these Targaryens breed and provide potential power sources for me. Back-ups among back-ups.
I then pulled out a map, unfolded it, and raised it up in front of me, seeing the entirety of Westeros on it.
"Alright alright...." I said with a frown, "Where to now? That's the question."
I was to the east of the continent, on Dragonstone which is the Crownlands, a small region compared to the others. Right northwest, there is The Vale. According to what Aemon tells me when I made my collection, it is a somewhat mountainous region ruled by a House Arryn.
"Do I want to see what goes on in there?" I said, "Maybe not, seems boring....."
He did mention that a certain House has a valyrian steel sword called Lamentation. I don't know, I was bored and managed to read up a bit on the history of the Realm. Apparently, the Seven Kingdoms were not unified until Aegon came. This continent has so much history that in the past, many different Kings were ruling about. And this specific House had Bronze Kings or some shit like that.
"House Royce...." I said, "They sound boring. I don't know, it feels like they would not be capable of producing a powerful warrior....maybe in the future.....if I can combine the Targaryens with them. Maybe the result will be an absolute unit of a man.....meh...."
I looked to the left and saw the region known as the Riverlands. It is a region with vast forest areas and many rivers, which could be quite convenient. It reminds me of the Endless Forest and the chaos Riktor and I caused while terrorizing the Elves. Viktor was completely annoyed, but his brother and I bonded greatly over it.
"Now this...." I said with a slight smirk, "Seems like a perfect place to go about and cause some chaos. I can have Cannibal hide within the forest while I go about and have some fun."
I looked at the beast, it was carefully scanning our surroundings with its glowing green eyes.
"Let us go to the Riverlands, Cannibal." I said with a smirk, "Let's see how it treats us."
"Some fun is overdue."
************
"Hm...." I said as we approached the incoming forest and river region, "I must admit, that castle in the mountain seemed interesting....Some fun could be had there....but later."
We had passed over the Vale and the vast region looked impressive. It did remind me of home, Terra had vast Mountainous regions that were significantly larger than Westeros as a whole. I believe if I were to put it in specific terms, Terra would be 5 times as large as Westeros, maybe even more. There is so much land back home in Infernis and that's just Terra.
Aqua, Ignia, and Sol are smaller than Terra but as large as Westeros itself so there's that. To be fair, a majority of Aqua sunk beneath the surface to the bottom of the sea.
Being in a mundane world like this makes me appreciate Infernis even more. But that's not to say that this world isn't as boring as I at first thought.
As we flew over the Riverlands, high in the sky, hidden in the clouds, I felt an odd presence. It was like something was pulling me in. Sort of a magical attraction which was weird and unlike the draconic power that I felt with the Targaryens.
This was a different type of magic.
I raised an eyebrow, "Hm...." I said as I looked down, "What's this?"
It came from down below, inside the Forest. Something magical was down there which was quite intriguing. I had to check it out, see what this is about.
"Land us, Cannibal." I said
The Cannibal let out a roar and immediately swooped down, going for the Forest and taking us to land.
Several minutes later, The Cannibal landed on the ground in between a clearing in the forest. I had cut down some trees to get out of the way, to make it more convenient for my dragon.
I jumped down from the dragon and landed on the ground, feeling the strange magical source nearer than before.
I sniffed the air, it was damp and humid, "Interesting.." I said as I glanced at the dragon, "Stay. Do not cause trouble."
It curled up and laid down, closing its eyes immediately and falling asleep.
I then turned around and began to walk towards where the source was coming from, "I wonder what all this is...." I said as I walked past some trees and bushes, "It feels...attuned to nature...."
After a few minutes of walking, I reached another clearing, seeing a single weird-looking tree in the center.
I raised an eyebrow, "Huh?" I said, "Is that a face on the tree? Holy shit, don't tell me....a nymph is near!!"
I defensively raised my arms, slowly turning around as I looked around in alarm. I had my telekinetic barrier up and had my Cutting Field ready to be deployed at any given moment.
Nymphs and Spriggans are not something I want to fuck with, not in my current state. Those Fey fuckers are no joke, especially in a forest like this where they can access their Feywild, breaking the barrier between Infernis and the Great Gardens....
I sniffed the air, not sensing the usual sap-scent that Nymphs leave behind.
"That's...." I said as I relaxed my body a bit, "Hm.....maybe there is no Nymph nearby..."
I looked at the tree, it did give off a faint amount of magic.
"What is it then?" I frowned
I then felt a presence behind me, it was creeping about.
I pretended I didn't sense it and slowly walked over to tree, trying to inspect it. I felt as the presence slowly crept closer to me. Inch by inch, it drew closer, which was weird because I did not hear any foosteps nearby.
I then turned around and caught a snake that had pounced on me.
"Huh?" I said as I felt a strange magic coming from it, "The fuck?"
The snake hissed and I immediately crushed its head, feeling the magic source disappearing from it.
"Hm..." I said as I felt the source of the magic appear at a different location, in the distance, "Interesting...."
"What could this be?"
