Chapter 11: Lurking Chaos
(Third Person POV)
"We need to speak alone." Alysanne told Jaehaerys as she walked past him, "Now."
She walked inside the King's chambers and Jaehaerys followed her, wondering what this could be about.
"What is it?" Jaehaerys asked as the doors were shut behind him
"What has gotten into you?" Alysanne asked, "You have not been yourself as of late. You're easily irritated, you've begun to speak to me as if I am not your Queen. So I ask you again, What has gotten into you?"
Jaehaerys frowned and walked towards the table, pouring himself some wine. He then took a sip from the cup and gave his wife a stern look.
"A star fell from the sky, crashing into our land. And from it, a great evil arose." He said seriously, "Forgive me if I do not seem like myself. I am only thinking of the safety of our people, our Family."
"Jaehaerys." Alysanne said with a frown, "I understand, but-"
"This man, this thing!" Jaehaerys cut her off, "It has left nothing but death in his path, it has done nothing but create chaos and ruin! Whatever its goals are, I have to do something about it otherwise our subjects will think that the King does not care for them."
Alysanne walked up to him, "You are stressed." She said, "This issue has gotten to you. We must stay strong at a time like this."
"He held Alyssa by the throat." Jaehaerys said, "And nearly killed Aemon and Baelon. Our children, Alysanne. Our blood. If I cannot do anything about it, what good am I as a Father? As a King?"
"You must maintain a level head when dealing with a tribulation like this." Alysanne said as she patted his cheek, "You are King Jaehaerys. Your Grandfather was the Conqueror. Nothing will stand in your way should you put your mind into it."
"That may be so." Jaehaerys grabbed her hand, "But something tells me that this man would not care about who or what I am."
"You should get some rest." Alysanne said with a slight smile, "With your mind clear, you will think of something. Our men are doing the best they can in searching for the culprit."
Jaehaerys nodded, "Apologies, my love." He said, "I only worry for our safety."
"I understand." Alysanne said with a smile, "Heavy is the Crown, right? And the burden that comes with it."
There was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Jaehaerys called
"It is I, Your Grace." Septon Barth's voice was heard
"Come in." Jaehaerys sighed
The doors opened and the Hand walked in, "Apologies if I interrupted something."
Alysanne faced him, "It is fine." She said, "What is it?"
"Reports state that nothing has been found in the city." Septon Barth said, "After a whole day's worth of constant searching, our men have found nothing."
"You cannot be serious." Jaehaerys said, "He must still be in the City."
"I do not doubt it." Barth said, "Prince Aemon returned and has told me that when he landed his dragon in the Pit, he noticed that every single other dragon seemed exhausted. Similar to what Caraxes experienced."
Alysanne frowned, "All of them? Including….?"
"Yes." Barth said, "Including Your Graces' dragons and The Black Dread. Balerion seemed to be near death but was somehow still clinging to life. Whatever this man did to Caraxes, he did to the other Dragons. They are still well, just recovering and resting."
Jaehaerys scowled, "What could he have done to our Dragons…." He said with an irritated tone, "That…."
"Husband." Alysanne said, "Get some rest. I will take it from here."

Later that day, on the eastern part of the city, some men were working on a building. They were hauling a large metal construct up into the hair, using a lever and a pulley.
They were trying to get it to the top of the building, for whatever reason. It did not matter what the reason was because their fate was not to finish the work.
Off in the distance, on the roof of another building, Drakken leaned against the wall. He was looking around the area, seeing how the smallfolk were going about their day.
He had just finished draining most of the dragons from the Dragonpit, leaving the Targaryens in their panic as the City Watch was scattering all over the city in search for him.
"Chaos is unpredictability." He merely said as he held a piece of cooked chicken in his hand, "And being unpredictable is my forte."
He took a bite off the chicken and made a disgusted face, spitting over the roof and down to the ground below.
"Disgusting." He said with a scowl, "This tastes as bad as the smell of the City. Downright rancid. The fuck kind of place is this?"
He looked around and noticed that there was a lot of people coming out the buildings in this particular area of the City.
He looked over at the men that were struggling to haul the massive metal object. He noticed that something fell down from it and landed on the ground; a piece of metal.
"Curses!" One of the men exclaimed and went over to pick it up, "Was it broken already?!"
"I don't know." One of the men that held the rope said, "Hurry and help us dammit!!"
Drakken smirked slightly, "Right below it, hm?"
Drakken looked up at the rope near the worn out pulley and tilted his head. Nefarious thoughts began to fill that skull of his.
"Hmm…." He said
He then flicked his wrist at that direction and watched as the rope was cut. The large metal construct then fell right down, crushing the man with a disturbing thud.
There was a loud scream from one of the bystanders as the large object was lodged onto the stone street, blood pouring from underneath as the man was completely obliterated underneath.
Drakken leaned forwards and saw as the men scurried towards the object, yelling out in panic.
"Hehe…." He said as his eyes began to glow and his smirk widened
His teeth became sharp and they began to release a bit of a black smoke, trailing up.
It was clear; Drakken was displaying his true nature. He was a walking disaster.
A Calamity.
