Chapter 14: I am sorry about how I reacted Yesterday
Aiden's mansion
The house was bubbling but most especially the kitchen. When she was leaving, Summer had announced to the servants that she'd be bringing her friend over for dinner and so, in the evening they were busy preparing the food and Summer was in the sitting room playing music.
Marina came out of her room and walked down the stairs. She had been waiting for Aiden to get back from work so that she could discuss the issue of opening a store with him.
In regards to that, she had also been up all day browsing the internet to decide her niche. She was thinking of selling clothes and accessories for both males and females but still thinking otherwise.
That would require huge money and perhaps if Aiden was interested in her doing it, he would lend her the money.
As she got to the sitting room, she went straight to the kitchen to check what they were doing as a lot of noise than usual was coming from there.
"Good evening, madam" the maids all greeted as they sighted her.
"Dinner will be ready soon, you can go on and rest," Ethel said and then it hit her right, she had lashed out at her yesterday and she hadn't even talked about it.
Using their current situation, she called out, "Ethel."
"Yes, ma," Ethel responded, raising her head from the cabbage she was slicing.
"I'm sorry for how I reacted yesterday, please don't take it to heart," she said, her voice very soft and apologetic.
Ethel was shocked as she heard Marina's words. She thought her ears were paining her so she touched and rolled her fingers in but it was still the same. She would have told her to repeat herself if it wouldn't be disrespectful.
"Ma, you don't have to feel sorry for me. I was the one at fault, I shouldn't have called the boss without your permission," she said and she meant it.
She couldn't have tried that with some other masters of hers, they would've sent her out already but then, she thought she was doing a favor not knowing that her miss heart was so nice as to let Miss Summer stay in the house.
"Oh…" Marina made a sound before adding, "Well…Summer is my sister-in-law and there's nothing I can change about that so I'll like it if everyone can also see her that way. No enemies here, okay?" She asked, trying to make them understand and see it from her shoes.
"Yes, ma." They all chorused even though none of the words reached their hearts. They all knew Summer and they never liked her.
"So, what are all of you doing today? Is there a party?" She asked, curious about what the commotion in the kitchen was all about. On a normal day, she knows how they cook so why the fuss today?
"It's Miss Summer, her friend is coming to visit her today so she told us specific dishes to make," one of the maids replied, dispelling her curiosity.
"Oh…" Marina nodded her head in understanding and then muttered to herself, "Who could the friend be?"
Marina left the kitchen after talking to the servants and went to the sitting room. She picked one of the pillows on the couch and sat down on the couch before placing the pillow back on her lap.
"How are you doing, Summer? Hope you have been liking your stay so far?" She asked as she looked at Summer.
Summer surely wasn't interested in talking to her and she made that clear as she scrunched her face up and replied, "Can you just let me watch my program in peace?"
Marina sighed as she replied, "Sorry for disturbing you."
She picked up her phone and started browsing through it, continuing her search.
Very soon, they heard a knock on the door and Summer quickly stood up with joy written on her face.
Marina's eyes followed her as she walked to the door and opened it and her eyes widened in
