" Why do you keep avoiding us?" Right as Samuel was ready to sneak out, a friendly voice interrupted his cheerful mood.

" I wasn't hiding you know."

" I hardly doubt it. You have been here for an hour talking and laughing with others but never approached either me or others." Mayra said in a harsh tone. She was a little mad getting left out. She was only here for him but he failed to notice it.

" I did my part. I didn't even know that you guys were coming, only when Lucie informed me that I realized that you would be here."

" That's because you have been ignoring my and Kayla's calls. Do you know Elise ask for you everyday? She is much more moderate but her tantrums have not subsided."

" I know and I anticipated it. If I don't give her space she would feel like I will always be here which is not possible. She had to accept that I will be away for longer periods of times." Samuel sounded a little harsh but he knew he couldn't visit Elise without running into Helga and others.

" Don't take me as a fool, I know what you are trying to do but I will tell you the same thing that I told them. It was not your fault, things happen and sometimes you have to move past them."

" I agree which is why I will be maintaining my distance until they return. I am sorry but I think it's the right thing to do."

" You know, I never thought you were so passive about these things after everything you went through. Isn't it time to be a little assertive?"

" Not this time. Just take care of them, Lucie told me they would be flying back home in two or three days, I will visit you once they are gone. After this party, they would hardly have any time to relax." He glanced at their group again smiling slightly.

Their 'debut' worked better than he anticipated, now he only needed to keep an eye on them so that they wouldn't get into any more trouble. Keeping his distance would also allow them to realize what they really wanted to do with their lives. After few years, he was sure they would forget whatever transpired this past week. It would be a distant memory.

" Mr S-samuel?" His companion tugged at his tuxedo feeling restless about this whole situation. Mayra was a beautiful girl, one of the most beautiful she had ever seen but what draw her attention was she didn't look like any other typical european beauty, she looked much more closer to the people she was used to seeing in her hometown.

" Who do we have here? Is this your new friend?" Mayra turned to the girl and asked.

" This is Disha, I am just showing her around." Hearing his words, Mayra just stared at him. Was he really that dumb or just too kind? But at the same time, she could see in Disha's deep brown eyes that she was as clueless as him.

" Right, I believe you two would have some interesting talks as your native nations are neighbours." He briefly told Disha about Mayra's background. That's when the two of them understand they were more connected than they imagined.

They even started conversing in their mother tongue, Mayra was fluent as she regularly talked with her family while Disha was a local. There were only few variations in their dialect but it was sufficient enough for them to talk about everything.

He knew there was a potential of conflict because of their diverse background but by his talk with Disha, he felt she wouldn't feel discomfort. Past tradition and superstitions still hold strong in her country but over he many visits to other countries she was able to push past her biases. Beside, Mayra would be happy to connect with someone with a similar background.

Disha also was unaware of Samuel's background which meant he could keep her in the dark for now. He only saw a innocent and naive girl much similar to Nicole in her which was why he wanted to help her. Who knows, she could become a big deal in the future going much further than just being a star in her country.

He told them that he had to step out for something leaving them to their own devices. He noticed that Richard had finally left the venue along with his secretary. He was much more interested in that person than this party.

Beside, he also noticed his cell phone acting funny ever since they met. He pulled it out and smiled again knowing that the person on the other side had taken the bait. Now he just needed to corner that person and extract some much needed information.

Passing by Delphina, Sharon and Alexis, he told them the same thing before slipping out through the staff exit and took off his mask. After he calmed himself, he started pinpointing the enemies one by one.

" Sir? Is there something wrong?" He heard two people follow him. Without even looking back he knew they were Raphael and Lucie.

" Yes, someone tried to hack into my phone which triggered the fail safe."

They were both shocked before their expression turned serious. Samuel was a big player in several industries which meant, every data in his cell phone was a gold mine for his enemies. From contacts, to sensitive informations, they could hurt him if they wanted to do it or even drag his name through the mud by accessing his social media sites.

Not to mention with the advent of technology, most of his banking information must be stored in there.

They might not be able to access all his money but they could do serious damage if his personal details leaked out to his many enemies.

" Don't worry as I said everything is under control." He gave them a confident smile but underneath it was something bubbling, he had given him a chance but now that he blew it, he was going to make him slowly pay.
