Chapter 1271: Reckoning-1

"Master! Master!"

Samara was sitting in her office going through her usual routine of reviewing documents when she heard banging at the door which sounded urgent.

There was strict rules not to disturb her when she was working so it was unusual that her underling would breach such protocol in such a high profile manner.

"Come in and stop yelling!" She pinched her forehead getting annoyed. There was hardly anything that could threaten her domain.

"Master! We are getting unusual reading from the archive room! I think there is a intruder in our mix!"

"What the hell? Are you sure? You know it's our most protected area hiw could anyone get to that room without breaching upper levels!" She slammed the table thinking whole idea as absurd.

For anyone to get to that deep meant they had to bypass countless upper section without anyone noticing. With their sophisticated technology that scanned people down to their skin, any unauthorised personal would never even get pass their entry level security!

"We are not sure that's why I came to inform you. The heat sensors are picking up someone inside the room and our people did find some clues leading to the room. Malfunctioning cameras and other surveillances are down around the room." The person explain while fidgeting with fear.

The archives were the most guarded place right after their armoury, people were constantly monitering the place so it was highly unusual for someone to suddenly appear in it without anyone noticing.

"Maybe it's one of our own people. Send people there to investigate...no, I will also go with you. I want to see who dares to defy my orders." Samara was already in a bad mood, she might as well get some fresh air and vent a little.

She gathered few people and headed towards the archives unaware that her worst nightmare was currently making itself comfortable right under her nose.

Samuel wasn't unaware about the situation, he knew there was no way for him to bypass the security without alerting the other party. He has been expecting it but more than that he was already done with his 'research' so it didn't matter much to him either way.

The verdict? He already had something in his mind. He used his life force detector to monitor the increased movements around the facility knowing a group was heading to the lower levels.

He couldn't see who they were or what they were carrying but by now, he was sure he would be able to deal with anything thrown at him especially after getting the immunity after cleansing Talia's poison.

He could see that Talia was still at lower level and the other life sign with her must be Ariel so there was no danger to her for now as where he was fell between the middle section of the facility. They would have to pass through his level to go down so if there was any indication of that happening, he could be more proactive.

Samara kept monitoring the heat signature which stopped moving and was currently situated at the rest area of the floor. For some reason she felt like whoever it was, must be waiting for her and her entourage to arrive.

Within minutes she was standing at the door looking at the extensive damage the wall sustained which seemed illogical as it was made with thick blocks of steel that could even block a nuclear explosion!

The archives was their branch's lifeline, no matter what happens outside, the things inside needed to be preserved as it held key information about how they operate.

The door was intact so she used her biometric to open the door. People with her also readied their weapons which were same as the plasma rifles that were standard issue for them. Samuel had faced them before when he protected his home from the invaders but Samara and other elders still didn't believe that was possible.

Any normal human would have never seen such sophisticated technology not to mention developing something to counter their deadly assault. His victory was deemed a fluke by their wider community for their lack of readiness nothing else.

Ten or so people barged inside the archives with their weapons ready scanning the vast room only to see a man wearing all back sitting at the reading table quietly going through a book in his hand.

His face was visible and it didn't take long for Samara to recognise the intruder. His sleek silver hair partially obscuring his face but that perfect features were hard for anyone to forget about.

Samuel smiled seeing them arrive but he didn't make any move not even acknowledging the threat.

"You...how did you get here?" Samara pointed at him in disbelief. She never expected him to be here.

But when she recounted recent events, the only one that she could think of was Ariel as she did get a notification of her going out of the base without her mandate. It was highly unusual for her to care about small things not to mention to accompany the four sisters as they went out for their current mission.

Still, even with Ariel's speciality there was no chance for her to sneak someone inside even if he was Samuel Rothschild himself!

"Why? Are you surprised to see me? I repeatedly warned you people not to mess with her but you dare to even bring her here subjecting her to awful experiments." he looked like a smiling tiger with his smile not reaching his eyes.

The temperature in the room started to drop as he stood up but there still was no signs of him taking action but the people behind her readied their weapons just in case.

"Now that I am here, I will have to ask for some compensation but before that I want to know more about you guys hence this place." He spread his hands almost making many people jump.

Samara squinted her eyes observing the anomaly. She didn hear about his tales but seeing him with her own eyes, he looked more reckless than the careful persona everyone told her about.
