"Is that the of the reason why you resigned." He said putting his spoon.

He looked up, seeing her staring at him back, but then she shifted her eyes and looked down at her plate.

"No, it is not the reason." She whispered lowly.

"Can you tell me why. I mean among all the other secretaries you were the one that stood the longest. I don't think I have ever seen someone manage his life and work as well you did." Mr. Xu asked.

"I majored in designing." She replied.

"Designing?" He asked in shock; he thought she would say that she may have studied administration but designing was far from what he thought.

"With the way you handled the business transactions and presentation, anyone would think that you majored in business." He said feeling impressed.

"I did major in designing in university but then took business management in case I want to open my own company." She replied again.

"Then why did you get hired as a secretary." Mrs. Xu asked the question that Mr. Xu was about to ask.

Mr. Xu looked at his wife and smiled, she was his companion and understood him so well to the point where it felt that she could read his mind.

"During the interview, the interview said that his secretary had quit so they would look among us for a replacement only for temporary." She replied again.

"Then why wait for seven years?" Xu Kai asked feeling anger rising within.

"I had personal reasons as to why I didn't reject." She replied directly looking into his eyes.

"I would have left, but then something happened, and the design team had said that as soon as position was available, I would have transferred there, but then now that is not the issue since you have blacklisted me." She replied but looked at him with sarcasm as she said the last sentence.

"Blacklisted?" His mother asked in confusion.

"Yes, your son has decided to blacklist me so now I can't even get hired in the industry." She said in sarcasm.

"Since you have time to be going on blind dates, you have time to come back to the office." He spoke.

"Says who, thanks to you now when I get married, I get to be a housewife." She said in annoyance.

"Married? Who will you be marrying." His mother asked in fear.

"My blind date, he turned to be a real gentleman if everything goes well, we might get married." She replied turning to his mother, whose face was still in shock.

"Good luck getting married!" He said in anger and stood up throwing his napkin on the table and left.

"Mrs. Xu its getting, I should get going now." She said making moves to leave.

"Stay!" His mother replied.

"I don't think I should." She said letting her down politely.

"Please stay for my sake. As you already said it is late, and it is not good go alone." Mrs. Xu said with pleasing eyes, Cheng Xiao could say no and agreed.
