Chapter 237: Lupin's Redundancy
After bidding farewell to Harry, Link left the infirmary and joined up with Emily who had been waiting outside.
"Is it all over?"
Emily asked with a cheerful smile, and upon hearing this, Link nodded his head.
For now, all his early preparations had already been arranged.
What remained was to quietly wait, for the prey to fall into the trap.
And at this point, Link could finally relax a bit and turn to deal with other matters.
The most pressing among them was to refine the Occlumency technique.
Although Link had upgraded it to level 3 last year, and it had been somewhat useful, due to a lack of dedicated training, it had not leveled up since, and the experience bar had only reached about 30%.
Originally, this wasn't a big deal.
After all, if it was only for dealing with ordinary Legilimency, not the Soul-Snatching Curse among the three Unforgivable Curses, level 3 Occlumency was already sufficient.
But now, things had changed.
Having seen how the Wall of the Mind had limited Mike, Link felt it was necessary to improve his Occlumency level.
With that in mind, Link glanced at Emily and suddenly said, "I'm planning to go into seclusion for a while to refine my Occlumency. Want to join me? Besides Occlumency, I can also teach you the 'Sectumsempra' spell."
Emily's eyes lit up as she said, "Professor Snape's Sectumsempra?"
"Exactly," Link confirmed, "Though Professor Snape told me not to casually pass it on to others, I think teaching you should be fine."
Emily nodded her head like a pecking chick.
Actually, it didn't matter to her what she learned, as long as she could be with Link.

At the same time, in the Gryffindor girls' dormitory, Hermione was holding a piece of parchment, her expression filled with shock and doubt.
Her trembling hands even unconsciously tore the parchment.
She simply couldn't understand why Professor Lupin would tell them to be cautious of Link.
Link was clearly such a good person, always helping them.
Clenching her teeth, Hermione curled up on her bed and wrestled with it all night.
Until dawn, she could no longer bear it. She put on her school robe, drank a bottle of energy potion, and rushed out of the Gryffindor common room, running all the way to the office door and knocking.
"Come in."
Hermione immediately pushed open the door and saw Professor Lupin leaning weakly on the chair behind his desk, looking like he had just recovered from serious illness.
"Good morning, Hermione."
Lupin squeezed out a weak smile in greeting, though his voice sounded extremely tired and hoarse.
This slightly eased Hermione's previously agitated emotions.
But she still forcefully placed the now-crumpled parchment on the desk and said, "Professor Lupin, what exactly do you mean by this?"
"Just what the words say," Lupin replied. "You and Harry need to stay vigilant around Link."
As soon as he said that, Hermione immediately became furious.
She stepped forward and slammed both hands on the desk, raising her voice, "How can you say that?! Link! Link is a great person! Forget the rest, just now he helped Ron find his rat, Scabbers!"
There was no denying that Hermione's aura when she was angry was quite intimidating.
Being shouted at like that, Lupin's face immediately flushed, and then he broke into a fit of violent coughing.
Now it was Hermione's turn to panic.
She hurried forward to pat Lupin's back. After his condition stabilized a bit, she even pulled out an energy potion and handed it to him.
"Professor, drink this. It'll make you feel better."
Lupin weakly opened the cap and sniffed it, then said, "An energy potion? The color's very good. Is this Professor Snape's work?"
"No, Link made it for me himself."
"Is that so? No wonder you're so emotional." Lupin smiled and replaced the cap, saying, "You like Link, don't you?"
As soon as he said that, Hermione's face turned bright red.
She lowered her head and said nothing.
She didn't admit it, but she didn't deny it either.
Seeing this, Lupin gave a knowing smile and handed the potion bottle back, "Keep this for yourself."
Hermione looked up with a frown and raised her voice again, "But you, right now, "
"I know my condition is very bad," Lupin interrupted.
"But this is far from something an energy potion can fix. Rather than wasting it on me, you'd better use it where it's more useful."
"After all, a high-quality energy potion like this would cost at least ten Galleons if you bought it outside. Heh, that Link kid sure is generous."
Hearing Lupin's explanation, Hermione finally accepted the potion bottle, though she still looked grumpy.
She felt Lupin didn't appreciate kindness.
You had to know, the energy potions Link gave her were her treasures, Hermione cherished them so much that she even collected the empty bottles after drinking them.
Of course, as a lifelong bachelor, Lupin didn't understand these little thoughts of a teenage girl.
At this moment, he put away his smile and said seriously, "Hermione, you asked me why I suspect Link? Let me tell you.
Back on the Hogwarts Express, when we were attacked by Dementors, I noticed something strange.
Link didn't seem to fear the Dementors. To be accurate, the Dementors couldn't affect him at all. They even seemed a bit afraid of him."
Hearing this, Hermione fell into recollection.
In fact, she knew even more about this.
For example, she clearly remembered that when they arrived at the school riding the Thestral carriage, the Dementors had bowed to the carriage Link was in.
These details had long been forgotten by Hermione, but now, reminded by Lupin, she instantly sensed something was off.
Her expression grew complicated, but she still stubbornly said, "So what does that prove!?"
"Exactly, so what does that prove?" Lupin sighed, staring into Hermione's eyes.
"But during today's match, Harry fainted from fear of the Dementors. According to the rules, Dementors aren't even allowed inside Hogwarts grounds. And most importantly, today's match was Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff."
"You mean... Link brought the Dementors on purpose so Hufflepuff could win?"
Hermione's voice trembled as she spoke. The shock from Lupin's words was so great that goosebumps appeared on her skin.
Lupin shook his head and said, "What I'm saying is only a guess without solid evidence. So don't tell Harry or the others for now. Just stay cautious around Link."
Hermione looked conflicted and said nothing.
Then, as if remembering something, Lupin added, "And one more thing. Due to his tragic past, Harry has very low resistance to Dementors. So I think it's time I teach you the Patronus Charm."
