Harry Potter: Transmigrated Detective Link

Chapter 236: Be Careful of Link!

After slightly tasting the house-elf-prepared meal, Link, Emily, and the group of Skars with their round, full bellies were politely invited out of the kitchen by Potlid.

Of course, using the word "chased" might be more appropriate.

Because Potlid was as anxious as a child looking forward to Christmas presents. Just as soon as Link and the others stepped out, he immediately directed the rest of the house-elves to begin a thorough cleaning.

He vowed to eliminate every single rat and cockroach in the kitchen.

And after they left the kitchen, Emily kept smiling while looking at Link.

Link had already told her everything about the grudge between Black and Peter some time ago.

Emily was very clear about the value of Scabbers the rat, also known as Peter Pettigrew.

Not to mention anything else, even if Link simply handed Peter over to the Ministry of Magic, he could negotiate a handsome reward in return, like a tax exemption for the Flamel family.

After all, if it were known that the hero Peter, who had been posthumously awarded the Order of Merlin First Class, was not only alive but also a traitor, the Ministry of Magic's reputation would take a major hit.

It was precisely because of this that Emily was now curious about how Link planned to deal with this rat.

After thinking for a moment, Emily didn't hesitate too much and directly asked, "Link, what are you planning to do with this rat?"

"Return it to Ron."

"Huh?"

Emily's face showed a trace of surprise.

To her, this seemed like an utterly incomprehensible bad move.

After all, Black had been lurking outside Hogwarts, watching Peter and preparing for revenge.

Peter would definitely escape again, and next time, it might not be so easy to catch him.

'Uh… wait a minute? Black?!'

Emily's eyes widened, as if she suddenly figured something out, and exclaimed, "You plan to use this rat to lure Sirius Black."

Link didn't answer, but instead smiled and made a "shh" gesture to Emily.

Seeing this, Emily shut her mouth, but the smile on her face became even brighter.

She had just forgotten something important, Link's goal from the beginning had only ever been to uncover the secret of his own body.

So, keeping Peter to lure Black back into Hogwarts made perfect sense.

Link and Emily exchanged a glance, then quickened their pace and headed toward the infirmary, where Harry and the others were.

At that moment, the infirmary was packed with people. Ron, Hermione, many Gryffindor Quidditch team members, and even Lupin, who hadn't been able to attend classes for quite some time, were all surrounding the newly awakened Harry, talking about the earlier match.

Of course, what they mostly talked about were bad things about Hufflepuff, since that match had really been a pity.

But the arrival of Link and Emily instantly silenced the previously lively infirmary.

Everyone awkwardly looked at Link, unsure if he had overheard their earlier conversations.

This kind of awkward atmosphere clearly wasn't something everyone could tolerate. Not long after, most of them left the infirmary.

Lupin was no exception. Only, when he left, he looked at Link with a somewhat strange expression.

And just before leaving, he secretly slipped something into Hermione's pocket.

Link didn't care about these little details and instead directly pulled out a parchment bag and said to Ron, "Here's your Scabbers. I found him."

"What? Really?"

Ron immediately jumped up in excitement and pulled out Scabbers, saying, "Thank you so much, Link! But… why isn't he moving?"

"I put a little spell on him. You can lift it with 'Ennervate'."

"Oh oh! Thanks! Thank you so much!"

Ron hugged Scabbers tightly and kept rubbing him with his chin.

This made Emily, who already knew that Scabbers was actually Peter Pettigrew, a middle-aged man, frown in disgust.

Harry and Hermione, unaware of the truth, were overjoyed. Especially Hermione, during this time, Ron had fought fiercely with her over Scabbers, and now she could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Only, she clearly underestimated Ron's pettiness. Just as she stepped forward to offer congratulations, Ron turned Scabbers the other way and said alertly, "You smell like a cat, stay away from us! Otherwise, Scabbers will be scared off again!"

"Ron!"

Hermione couldn't help but scold him, but Ron stared right back, refusing to back down.

A fight was about to break out.

And just then, Madam Pomfrey suddenly entered the infirmary.

She looked at the rat in Ron's arms, let out a sharp scream, and then angrily shouted, "Everyone! Out! All of you! Especially you! That Weasley boy holding the rat! I'll have Professor McGonagall give you detention!"

Ron was actually quite loyal, he didn't argue. Instead, he gave Link a grateful look and left the room.

Hermione followed him out too. The whole way, she kept sarcastically mocking Ron, looking very, very much like a female version of Snape.

Link and Emily exchanged smiles and were about to leave too.

But just then, Harry suddenly called out, "Link! C-Can you stay for a moment? I want to speak with you alone."

Link didn't reply right away but looked at Madam Pomfrey for confirmation. When she nodded, he let Emily leave first and then sat beside Harry.

"What's up, Harry?" Link joked. "If you want me to fix your Nimbus 2000, I can't, it's already been smashed to pieces by the Whomping Willow."

"I know that, of course."

Harry shook his head helplessly, then his expression grew serious. "What I wanted to say is, I saw an omen again!"

"An omen?"

"Oh! That's what the Divination professor calls it. She always says that people see omens before disaster."

Harry said, "And I'm certain, my omen is a big, filthy black dog! The first time I saw it, I almost got hit by the Knight Bus! And just now, during the match, I saw it again!"

"You're saying… during the match, you saw a big black dog?"

"Exactly! Hey, Link, I'm not crazy! You believe me, right? Right now, you're the only one I can talk to!"

Harry spoke anxiously, while Link remained silent.

After a long pause, he finally grinned and said, "To be honest, I find it hard to believe in those kinds of things."

Harry's expression darkened, but Link continued, "But I can offer you some extra protection, just to make sure you avoid any bad luck."

"Extra protection?"

"Yeah, like a big pack of hunting dogs," Link said.

"They'll take shifts guarding the infirmary, the Gryffindor common room, and your dorm, basically everywhere you'll be. I think that way, you'll feel much more at ease."

"But… hunting dogs…"

Harry looked a bit uneasy. He had become quite sensitive to dogs lately.

But Link didn't give him a chance to refuse, he quickly finalized the matter.

This was all part of his plan, as long as the Skars guarded Harry and Ron around the clock, there would be no need to fear Scabbers escaping again.

Meanwhile, in the Gryffindor common room, Hermione had already finished arguing with Ron and returned to her dormitory to start studying.

However, just as she took off her outer robe, a piece of parchment fell out.

Hermione bent down to pick it up, and her face immediately changed.

Because written clearly on it was...
