Hardcore Priest

The moment the word 'Oracle' was said out loud, the whole room went wild. Everyone acted like this because the role 'The Oracle' is rarest among other roles, even rarer than 'The Scholar.' Rumors say this role will only appear once every 40 years. Whoever has been granted this role will lead the whole community to the greater future, and they will likely become the church's Pope. Simply put, they will become the heads of all the churches.

Thus, Kaiden awakening 'The Oracle' role causes a ruckus in the crowd, except for Michael, who is still confused about the situation.

"Unbelievable…."

"I'm not dreaming, right?"

"Is this really The Oracle???"

"No way….."

"Out of everyone, I never thought Kaiden would be the one awakened The Oracle…."

The crowd was in awe of Kaiden's awakening, but slowly, their discussion topic kind of drifted into other subjects….

"If you ask me who would awaken The Oracle, I would answer Michael."

"Oh yeah, isn't that the whole point of all of his hard work? Isn't his goal was becoming the Pope."

"I wonder how he felt right now when he saw Kaidn awakened The Oracle. He must be very frustrated since Kaiden is also his best friend."

The crowd, from discussing about Kaiden, changed into Michael. Their sight slowly shifted to where Michael was standing. To see what kind of emotion he had right now.

What are you guys looking at me for???? That's the original Michael's goal, not mine.

Michael immediately noticed the crowd was staring at him because he was eavesdropping on them from the beginning. But he didn't expect he would become the discussion topic and never thought the original Michael had this goal at all.

At least now I have learned new information about the original Michael.

In the crowd, some people pitied Michael's situation, but at the same time, some people gloated at him. The original Michael spent all his time on his training, thus causing him to spend less time socializing with others, except for Kaiden, because he will talk with Michael no matter what the situation. This is also why Kaiden is Michael's best friend in the church.

Because of this, Michael appears cold toward others. Some people will think of him as looking down on them, thus causing hatred toward him.

"I felt bad for him. It's like watching your dream being crushed infront of you."

"Heh, that karma for him to always think he's better than us."

While eavesdropping on them, Michael didn't actually take it to heart on all those hateful comments. Because he never actually thinks of himself as the original Michael. His priorities right now are not achieving Michael's dream but finding who tried to murder him.

"Silence!" said Father Dareen with his loud, clearing voice.

"Are you feeling better, Kaiden?"

Kaiden, after the awakening, took some deep breaths and replied, "Yeah, I felt better now."

"Good, then I will explain to you something related to your role. You must have seen something like some kind of scenario similar to our reality."

"Yeah, I did see something, and it is similar to the scene just now. In that vision, I'm not only seeing, but I also hear Father Darren say something about Oracle."

Hearing what Kaiden just said, Father Darren felt more joy toward Kaiden's awakening, "Then you had indeed awakened The Oracle, my child. What you saw just now is the future; this is the ability of The Oracle."

When Father Darren said what Kaiden just experienced, the crowd went wild again.

"See the future!?"

"The Oracle abilities are crazier than I thought!"

"Oh my god….."

Even Michael himself was shocked when he heard it.

What the holiness….this world is damm outrageous. Now, even they had the ability to see the future. I thought able to strengthen my physical body already crazy….

When Michael was still shocked, he didn't notice Father Darren had a quick look at him. He only had a quick look at Michael, but his expression clearly showed remorse.

But he quickly looks back at Kaiden.

"You may take a rest now. I will contact the headquarters immediately so you can receive the training you need."

Then he looks back at the other priests.

"The same goes for all of you. Get some rest. That's it for our awakening ritual."

Before everyone went out, Father Darren remembered something.

"Oh, and Ross, I will train you personally, so I will get in touch with you when everything is prepared. Lastly, Michael, I want you to stay for a moment there is something I want to speak with you."

After all of that, everyone continues their way back to the room. While Michael is the only one staying in the hall.

What does this old man want this time? I didn't blow my cover, right? Dammit! I haven't found the murderer yet; there's no one who seems suspicious….

Fathe Darren just slowly walked toward Michael. Then he says something to him, "Let's talk in my office. Follow me."

Before Michael was able to react to it, his body already moved on its own following Father Darren.

The walk wasn't long. They only took around 1 minute to reach Father Darren's office.

"Have a seat, Michael."

Father Darren is sitting at his desk while Michael sits in the chair infront of him. They look at each other for a few seconds, and Michael is the first to open up.

"Is there something you need to say to me?"

"Right, actually, I just want to check on you and see how you feel right now."

Michael then realized what this conversation was about. Since the original Michael goal was becoming 'The Oracle' he wasn't able to awaken it. Thus, Father Darren must be thinking he is very down right now.

Even though awakening a role is about fate, but some people believe that if you nurture it early, you might be able to fit the requirements for the specific role. Therefore, Michael trained his body and received a proper education from childhood. Just so to awaken 'The Oracle'.

Father Darren is Michael's adopted father, so from the beginning, he has always had high hopes for Michael to awaken 'The Oracle'. But now that Michael hasn't been able to, he feels a little guilty about Michael.

"Don't pressure yourself too hard. You can't awaken The Oracle wasn't the end of the world yet. In the end, you still awaken The Knight, and you can carry the god's will."

Michael didn't react much to Father Darren's words. In the first place, he didn't care much about this. But honestly, after receiving the awakening, Michael grew some interest in his new-found powers.

"I'm all right, Father. I won't be downed just from this. If it is all of it, may I leave now?"

Seeing Michael wasn't affected by it, Father Darren felt relieved. Then, he waved his hand to show that he may get out and replied, "Yes, you may leave now. Get some rest, too."

Michael greeted him and went on his way out.

After Michael leaves his office, Father Darren pulls out a letter, picks up his pen, and starts writing. He wrote about Kaiden's awakening and hope for him to be able to receive his training at the headquarters.

In the church study room.

A young man wearing a priest outfit was talking to someone on the phone.

"I thought you said you already killed Michael Rivera!"

On the other side of the phone, the person replied, "Yes, I did."

"So why do I still see him this morning!!!" the young man says loudly. He tried his best not to shout so he wouldn't attract anyone's attention here.

The person on the phone went silent momentarily and then said, "That's impossible. I'm sure I did kill him. Did he have any kind of relic on him to protect himself?"

"What are you talking about? Do you think a young priest like us is able to afford one?"

But then he was stunned for a second. Everyone might not be able to afford one, but Michael Rivera grew up in this church, so he might be able to receive some kind of special treatment.

"Hmm, if it was him, there a chance he did have a relic."

"Then find out what the relic is and contact me again." said the person on the phone calmly.

"Heh, right. I remembered you guys want him dead more desperately than me. Fine, since we are already working on this together, I will find out where the relic is."

"....."

The person on the phone didn't say anything and ended the phone call.

"Rude bastard. You should be glad we are on the same team or else…."

Then the priest looked at his surroundings. After making sure there was no one, he went out on his way.

The next day.

In front of the church door. Two people wearing the priest outfit walk out of their car and stand infront of it. Their outfit wasn't the same as the other young priest but rather similar to Father Darren's outfit.

"So this must be the place. Where Father Darren managing."

"Yeah, let's head in and greet him first."
